  • My top 5 killers:

    5. Trapper. This one shocks me honestly as I never thought I would like him. He is just super fun and has lots of room for personality. He is the literal poster boy and I still enjoy him.

    4. Unknown. One of the creepyiest killers with an unsettling design great lore and cosmetics.

    3. Dredge. Honestly same exact reasons as above.

    2. Hag. Same as above again. She is genuinely creepy, the base lore is so good (we do not speak about the tomes) and sick cosmetics including the only one I spent real money on (family knowledge)

    1. Dracula. He is one of the most iconic horror characters of all time and adapted remarkably well as one of the most versatile killers.

Top 3 Survivors: Dwight, Ash, Nic Cage

  • So my I'll give my base game, origional and licensed.

    Base: Hag.

Hag is one of the few legit creepy designs. Her base lore is fantastic and I do love her gameplay. She also has a sick mori and some of the best cosmetics in the game, family knowledge is my favorite.

    OG: Unknown

I love him for similar reasons as Hag. He is legit creepy, his power is actually quite fun. His lore (or lack thereof) is amazing and the marketing behind him is some of the best.

    Licensed: Dracula.

Im a massive fan of the classic universal monsters so getting to play as one is legendary. Not to mention he is one of the best adapted killers in the game. His abilities are fun to use and powerful in the right hands.

  • Haven't spent mine yet. Im waiting till Friday to get jason so ill put some in him but im also going to get nic cage and maybe ash. Im waiting for a 10th anniversary sale. Anyone have an idea on when that might be? Im thinking the 25th but hope sooner.

  • Oh no Im not complaining just gaging people's thoughts on it.

  • I still really want Trantor the troll from Ernest Scared Stupid. I know this will never happen 1. Because it is a kids Disney film and also because Disney has never done much with it in terms of merchandising to begin with. He would be awesome though. Maybe part of his terror radius could be him tormenting you with the voice of other survivors. He could make a cool skin for Oni as well

    0_LSnNZrxdB7EtvS2e.jpg
  • I agree that I don't know if a full spider killer would work. However one killer that I would still love to see is a killer that acts as a physical host for the entity that is spider like. He could attack with spider legs and similar to how killers work in 2v8 he generates hooks whenever he picks up a survivor.

  • I still want the universal monsters. Maybe in 2031 when the 100 year anniversary of Dracula and Frankenstein happens they can do a crossover.

Honestly even skins would be cool ie

    Dracula-Dracula (obviously)

    Frankenstein- The Doctor

    Mummy- Vecna (dbd)

    Bride- Spirit

Creature- i mean we have one with hag

Wolfman- now this one i want as an actual killer because we have been waiting for a werewolf killer for so long. If it had to be just a skin id say either blight or legion

  • I did a lot of the basic things mentioned. Hitting on the hook because I thought it lowered health, camped a lot. I also didnt rely on killers powers much and didnt understand them. I also went from playing trapper to playing hag so I thought all killers used bear traps. I didnt even notice hags traps allowed you to teleport until I saw the notification.

As a survivor I thought flashlights were to help you see because I had a hard time finding gens in the beginning. I also thought running made a killer be able to see you anywhere on the map so I always walked.

  • I keep playing simply because it is a lot of fun. It is a great pick up and play experience. And truth be told in dont put a lot of stock in my results. Heck sometimes 4ks as a killer or easy escape as a survivor are boring. As a survivor I honestly expect to lose and if i dont than thats all well and good. As a killer I just want to know that I gave the survivors a good chase/thrill. Im currently doing a killer tournament but when that is done I want to do some friendly/fun killer matches. I just love to have fun. All you can hope is that those you play with are also having fun.

  • I think my best killer in terms of results is likely doctor but he is not one I play as often. Freddy isn't bad for me either. I think everything comes down to how the survivors and how they play. If they know how to counter the killer it is really rough but if they don't then sometimes you can just steamroll everyone. Dracula is still my main because he is so iconic and so fun to play as.

  • I play both sides and as survivor I find it still very fun. I am more casual though and don't see a point in only caring about results. Yeah getting tunneled out can be a pain but you get your xp and can move on to the next match. I like an intense match it makes it scarier and more intense.

  • I agree with a lot of people with Vecna. When you enter world breaker and can hear him yelling across the map it feels like a real creepy experience. I also agree with killers you haven't seen in a while. Sometimes it can be frustrating when its the same killer again and again. It's sometimes why I like playing as lesser used killers.

  • The shield add on is my personal favorite. It makes for a fun little surprise for the survivors at the end and I think i got my favorite killer ever with it. I was chasing a survivor with my bat. I transformed into a vampire and sliced them. They got their burst of speed and ran right into a pillar and went straight into the mori.

I know Drac is pretty powerful I think I just need more practice with the hellfire.

  • I think for some of the licenses it can be really hard to adapt certain characters in a limited game like this. Freddy is a great example of that. Personally I find myself enjoying the original killers more. I love the lore behind them and it just feels more creative.

  • I think it would be really cool for killers to be able to hide in lockers as well. Also more environmental interaction and ambiance. I think it would make the game feel scarier.

  • Just a thought on the situation but I would consider extremely powerful killers and a return to stealth gameplay overall a good thing. I think that something that has been lost to DBD for sometime is the fact that it is a horror game it's core. As a survivor you are meant to feel overwhelmed and afraid. I'm always disappointed when a match doesn't make me feel this way. After a while people got used to killers and stopped trying to avoid them. Some people go out of their way to engage with the killer and try to bully them hence bully squads. Making the game more intense and focusing on creepy killers ie unknown and karasu is helping bring the game back to its horror roots. At least that is how I feel.

    Restore pallet vacuum

    Improve survivor animations

Dead hard usable unlimited times and removed hook condition

    Nerf Dracula

    Remove cheaters

Not terrible ideas but I am curious on why the Dracula nerf? Not judging just curious.

  • For me if I feel too stressed I just do a fun match which is sometimes better than a high k one. I also just use killers that I always have fun with regardless of results.

  • I think it is a lot of fun and I enjoy it more than the Halloween event surprisingly. I love coming across a big survivor snowball fight and joining in. Of course once I run out of snowballs its back to work. I did that the other night as Dredge (the mere idea of him in a snowball fight is hilarious to me). I wish Dracula could throw them in wolf form.

  • I've been going with the flow and see what the vibe is. I'm more then willing to have fun with survivors having a snowball fight or trying to sneak up on someone with a snowman but purposely doing it badly. Again I agree if I want regular game I can do that too.

  • Damn Dredge always gets the best skins. I approve.

  • Oh wow im jealous. I guess if you have played the game for a long time you amass quite a bit. I've only been playing since July.

  • Question to the killers, what do you do if you find an afk survivor? I like to middle ground it. If not injured ill give them a little tap and move on to show I'll merciful but still playing. I also think it makes for a good horror movie moment when they get back. Like a character being marked by an entity.

honestly, if I get a kill, I consider it a win.

Honestly same. Even if it is 0k but i provided good pressure. I had a match as Legion and everyone was on death hook by the end. I consider that a good game. In my mind and killers job is to be intimidating and scary. That's why I love Hag and Dredge so much.

I didnt realize how important sound was when I first started. I never used headphones nor had the volume up on the TV and I'd wonder how my team mates knew the killer was coming so early.

I still play with low sound because I don't have headphones and I don't want to wake my daughter (i pretty much only play when she is sleeping). I only just learned about the visible heartbeat recently and it has helped a lot.

Hahaha I was like this too. I hit people on hook for no reason at all. It was just a thing to do. I camped as well and didn't understand people were unhooking themselves because of it. It makes me wonder how often you get people you think are being toxic but they're actually just new and clueless.

Not quite the same thing but I've seen people complain about a killer being toxic and hateful but then they were steaming and if you watch their stream they were just being playful and playing a character. It is hard to understand another players actions sometimes so I don't generally judge them for their gameplay.

  • I mean you could do a whole discussion on mistakes you made as a rookie. Ie I thought flash lights were for finding your way around and i was always so confused as to why they died so fast.

  • I feel kind of bad because I technically played very toxic in the beginning without actually meaning to. I would hit people on the hook because I thought it took their health down faster. I camped because it made sense that someone would come for the survivor.

  • These are just the way I choose to play but everyone is different and I support that. Outside of true cheating (aka hacking) there are no rules and play as you like.

  • I think there is a distinct difference between a coordinated team of survivors out to help one another and an authentic bully squad. Flashlight saves are natural and logical. Now if they teabag after every loop and have no one working gens that's more in line with a bully squad. Also teabagging at exit gates and if the killer doesn't come for them they will go to find them and flashlight them even if it literally gets them killed in the process. I just laugh when that happens.

  • I wouldn't say that the exit gates opening means the game is over. I've done some of my best work in the endgame shuffle. I've had horrible matches become 3ks especially if I am playing Drac with blood warden and the red shield add on. Sometimes that is the best time to roll with it and have some friendly killer fun with the survivors, sort of a killer way of saying gg.

I've liked chase Legion for years. iri button is my go to and the only slowdown I use is Surge because I enjoy the idea of tapping survivors for regression. Mindbreaker and Dissolution have been staples for years. Enduring is my super secret sauce for cheesing early downs and snowballing out of control. even good survivors get baited by Enduring. the human brain lights up at the chance to knock Legion out of power. you can't resist it.

people will say you HAVE to play Legion with 3-4 slowdown and I honestly believe that's just skill issue.

I like the running part and the swiping lol. I will admit that is one reason I don't do well is that I don't super care about the technical side of dbd, I do use some perks and add ons but for the most part I just log in and have fun.

  • I mean I know this isn't how many people still see it but at it's core DBD is a horror game. It is meant to feel intense and scary. The game was technically never meant to be balanced and yes has always favored killer ever so slightly. The killer is supposed to be something to be feared and avoided, not rushed into unless you are trying to save someone. I'm not saying killer should be incredibly over powered but yeah they should feel intimidating.

  • That's fair. I still love playing as her regardless of score. Same with Legion. I suck with him but he is so fun to play as I don't really care.

  • That's awesome. Dredge is one of my favorite killers especially with his lore and the fact that he looks genuinely scary. I think more players need to just hop into matches as fun killers that they like. Whatever your results are it doesn't matter. Just sit back and enjoy the experience.

  • Okay if we are talking licensed then I'm going with Dracula. We haven't had a good dracula movie in a long time.

  • I think characters that directly add new gameplay elements ie freddy, xeno are unlikely to appear due to the extra work it would take to get all the features loaded.

    • How long should a chase be to be seen as good? (1 Gen? 5 Gens? 1 Stun?)

Depends on the killer, if you're first chase, map, etc. There is no good answer for that and is more in the moment. You could have a 5 minute chase but if no gens we're done cause you looped around the 3-gen for those 5 minutes then it was a bad chase. Conversely if you only had like a 15 second chase but it let your team finish the last gen then it was a good chase.

How many hooks happen before the first Survivor dies in a game? (3? 8?

Depends on how sweaty you want to be. I 2 hook everyone because I like to mess around and don't care if I lose. Other people might want someone dead at 3-5 hooks. It also depends a lot on gen progress and how good the survivors you're going against.

How long should a new thing (Killer/Perk/Item) exist before the devs touch it? (Instant/1 week? Never?)

Depends on how broken and public outcry. If it's really bad then as soon as possible. If it's something strong/weak but not overly so then I think a couple weeks to let it settle before making changes if any.

What do you see as a win? (4K/4E? I escape?)

Having fun and getting a lot of BP. I don't take DBD very seriously so I don't really care if I escape or even get a kill. As long as I get to have one or two fun moments in a match then I consider it a win.

More objectively, I feel 0-1k is a loss, 2k is a tie, 3-4k is a win and this applies to both sides. I don't consider individual escapes as a win since it's a team based game.

What should happen if devs change something? (Make it useless?/Fix numbers till it hits the sweet spot?, Change it completly?)

Sweet spot is the best case scenario. I like when they nerf over used add-ons and make them partial basekit. What sucks is when they nerf add-ons without any compensation because the background data shows overuse; even if said add-on is just okay.

Changing it completely should be a last resort.

I totally agree on a win is how fun the game is. Some of my least favorite games as killer have been 4k because it took so long to find the last couple of survivors. I had a 0k earlier that was tons of fun and I provided good pressure throughout. I just hope to have some fun and hopefully give people a scare or two.

Yeah I'm not a fan of this mode either. There's no strategy, just chaos. The matches are so one-sided. If you get decent players it's super fun and being silly at the gates with 5 or 6 other survivors is charming as all hell, but then there are these bizarre matches where it seems like everyone is playing for the first time ever and they think the point of the game is to hide. I had a Ghostface as killler one match who had almost 13,000 hours and I was teamed up with people who had like 200. What are you even supposed to do there?

Well the chaos element is an attractive part of all of it. I do believe there can be strategy. For example I play drac so I use my bat form to get to gens quickly. I'll damage the gens and get survivors at least injured for the other killer, that way the gens pop slower. Also it is fun herding survivors to the other killer. Survivor can be a lot of fun too. I love going on saving runs just outright bursting to the cages and save as many people as you can.

  • I know that killer can be stressful in a way but I like to see it as a no lose scenario. If I suck at the match then survivors get a decent out and lots of BP and if I do well then I made it intense. Even if I struggle with the game im always having fun, one way or another.

  • I've always felt that should just be one of her normal abilities. I think she could be a really cool killer and is very underrated.

  • That might be the issue. I didn't see anywhere on the add on that it stops teleportation but I'll take that off. I had a feeling it was something I was doing so I didn't report a bug. Thanks for the help.

  • That's why I run the exit gate fire pillars on Drac, nobody is going to dare. Honestly though if I can see the survivors in the exit gate just waiting, I just ignore them because I know it's what they want. My first match as legion was against a bully squad. I was just watching the last two survivors waiting until one came out to find me just to try and flashlight spam me and the timer ran out on him. Some people would honestly rather be toxic than win, oh well it's a win win I suppose.

  • My first two were wraith and hag. Wraith I now find to be completely boring and slow compared to other stealth killers. I still have hag in my top 3 though dredge is closing in. My true main is Dracula and honestly unless they added wolfman I don't see that changing. He is just perfectly adapted and super fun.

  • Okay I may have missed that and went straight into play. I'll have to try that next time I play thank you so much

  • No I understand how to "play"but I'm not seeing any pumpkins or portals or anything when I play. Not sure if it is a different game mode or if I have to purchase something to play. I see the pumpkins in the loading lobby but nothing in game, not sure if it is a glitch in my end or nit.

  • I know this is a slightly different take on the question but lately I find I still love DBD a ton but I've been finding prolonged playing has a weird effect on me. I find if I play too many matches in one session that it sours it somehow. I really don't know how to describe it but it just feels like I played for too long. I'm finding a 2-3 round session is perfect for me. Usually 2 killer and one survivor or 3 killer if I'm in the mood to play as certain characters.

  • I immensely enjoy the game. For me it is super relaxing after a hard day. Everytime I get a new killer I find myself super excited in a way that I rarely find. For me I don't care if there are bugs, balancing issues or whatever else. I'm just here to live out my horror movie fantasies and have some fun even if it's 0k I'm having fun.

  • Im not a fan on one's that are super specific like chest perks. On a slightly different subject I wanted to ask not about a perk but an ability. Survivors how do you feel about draculas ability to have the exit gate riddled with fire colums. Do you find that a toxic ability or a fair one. I run it (mostly to reduce exit gate t bagging and to deliver that one last scare) but I was curious if it was one that the survivors looked down upon.

  • @jordykellyburt said:

ive played 20 matches of survivor today. My team escaped ONE. I see your statistics have the killer winning 60 percent of the time. What are you guys thinking. Why not make it 50 50. Killer perks are absolutely ridiculous compared to survivor perks. The only thing survivors have is pallets and windows and so many killers (knight, legion, nurse and more) aren’t even affected by them. It’s like you designed a game for people to lose.

And then your matchmaking. Ive been playing for a couple months only and i go against people with 10x as many hours. In short what is your thought process? To try to piss people off?

Overall the reason they don't push for 50/50 is because DBD is at it's core a horror game. The survivor is supposed to feel overwhelmed and outmatched. The killer is supposed to feel like a true threat. I feel the 60% benchmark is a good goal maybe even 55%.
