When a survivor suicides on hook, everyone left in the match is treated to a pizza party.

As killer, playing nurse: BBQ + Whispers + Shadowborne + Infectious Fright or I'm All Ears
Survivor: Sprint burst + Iron Will + Resilience + Quick and Quiet or Diversion or Dance with me

I’m waiting for the cannibal to get a rework too. I’m sure I’ve said this before but the original Texas chainsaw massacre film plays out like a game of dbd. It’s got the hook the double hit and the chase.
He needs insidious built into his kit imo, considering that first scene when homeboy wanders into the house. Also, I wondered if they designed leatherface while considering that chase with sally. If so, I don't think leatherface was failing to catch her... he was 'herding' her to the gas station, i think.

I hate it when people call me 'baby killer', as it implies that I kill babies. Which doesn't make sense... are the survivors the babies I'm killing, or are they suggesting that I kill real, actual babies? Why would they do that? All of this confusion could be settled with a hyphen.

I main killer because it's more challenging. Honestly, at first I found playing as survivor terrifying... my palms would sweat and I just lost any sense of strategy once I was in a chase. That is, until I learned just how powerful it was to hug the object you're looping the killer around, while playing mind games here and there. I was kinda grossed out by just how easy it was to get good with survivor after learning how to really use the third person perspective to my advantage. I mean, once you know how to bridge different tiles together, and have an awareness of pallets to use, it's pretty hard to be caught by most killers. Well, until you start playing lazily. Which is after what, the first chase? Then all of a sudden you're only running in straight lines, and you're hands are starting to slip from being so sweaty. That's when you know its time to take things easy and do gens.

The current model for making the big bucks in game development is in releasing new content every quarter. Whether it's newer players or old, new content always brings people back for a few weeks. So, it's not necessarily important to keep people satisfied at all times, just enough to keep them from leaving entirely. So many game developers do this; balancing is not nearly as important as pushing out content releases.
Sometimes companies don't try much at all to balance the game, and instead focus on balancing players' emotions/perceptions of balance. Just find the two most contentious parties in the community, place them on either ends of a spectrum, and waffle between the distribution of power, back and forth with each update, that way, both sides feel like 'they had their day'. Anything to keep us playing until the next content release.
Honestly, I'd be surprised if we ever saw dramatic balance brought to SWF groups. Either because the issue is just too challenging, or the content SWF create is just too juicy on streaming platforms - everyone loves watching the survivors humiliate the killer. People who play killer, or queue solo as survivor are the bottom feeders; the untouchables of the dbd caste system.

Hmm, the short of it: we all get to deal with crappy situations on either end. So, pray for BT, and bring DS and unbreakable. Those are your counters.
The long of it:
Survivors enter the match as a team, whether they are playing/queuing solo or not. So, being the one who deals with being face camped is essentially taking one for the team. Why is this important to appreciate? Because everyone has to deal with face camping killers, not just you. Every person that enters a match with you has been face camped before, and will be again, so it's not always one specific person experiencing the face camping. Because of that, survivors should take being face camped in stride, and see that by not committing suicide they are supporting their teammates by delaying the killer's terribly irrational strategy. If the killer is upset and feels the need to face camp, I'm sure they will feel a lot better after being gen rushed and tbagged at the gate. /s
I know that your argument really revolved around the idea of facecamping not being fun to experience, but the same could be said by a killer that faces a squadded-out, experienced SWF with toolboxes - they don't even need toolboxes, lol. Some teams are so well put together that no matter how hard you try, you simply cannot beat them, which feels just like being face camped does, maybe worse. There's not really any use in trying to claim one is worse than the other, because that argument always ends up as a contradiction, so you're right, that an eye for an eye gets us nowhere; but that also means you're contradicting yourself by trying to use that as support for your own argument.
Your best bet? Learn to optimize your circumstances to be a positive in whichever way you can. It might not be as fun as being chased, but you can still distract the killer none-the-less. And who knows, maybe you will escape by a stroke of luck, and if you do, you will have some of the most fun you've ever had in the game.
