It is definitely sutvivor sided which is not that bad considering its a survivor perk. But its much worse than that because the survivor controls its activation which means that they only get info when the survivor wants to give it to them and they wont be able to make use of that information but the survivor will always be able to do it whenever they want. Maybe its not the strongest but its definitely the most obnoxious. Should be deleted
Survivor perks are supposed to be survivor sided. Just like killer perks are killer sided.
-
Their are plenty of perks that allow the killers to see all 4 of the survivors auras under certain circumstances.
I just don't think OoO is as OP as your making it.
-
I dont use the perk myself, but think its fine. The killer and survivor both see each others auras when looking at each other.
Seems fair to me. But I don't use it and don't run into it too often when I play killer.

I was waiting for an answer like this. I do not feel comfortable having doubts about what they have said in the chat about me.
You dont actually know these people, they aren't a part of your life. What they say in a game chat should not matter to you.
People take this game way too seriously.
What they say doesn't matter and you shouldnt let it affect you. Just play the game and have fun and don't take it personally. Its not real life. Just a game.

That's what I'm saying I'll be patrolling gens and not see 2 survivors for a whole match. Immersion tilts me at the most especially when they're on my team :( but ik that's play style or w.e.
There are some perks and add on that allow you as killer to see survivor auras. I would try one of those for the immersive survivors you are having trouble finding. There's also spies from the shadows and whispers.

Every killer should either have a tool to help in chase or a power that makes it so you can expend more time in chase with less consequence. I'm fine with gens getting worked on while on chase. But the free 8-12 seconds it takes for a killer to hook someone is annoying and I feel they don't deserve that time. Solo's never get the job done efficiently.
They do, its called bloodlust

How the hell is hatch a killer favored mechanic when it literally gives survivors a win, someone explain to me please! π
So what if killer gets even more fast and et cetra, survivors get a huge advantage (free win) why can't killers also have it for playing poorly?!
Finding The hatch is not a free win. You still have to survive long enough and beat the faster killer to it. Who could have any number on one hit downs to add to the speed they have.
I think hatches are a non-issue. Especially with other things that need work in the game along with its never ending supply of bugs and glitches.
-
Sounds entitled a bit, and childish.
I want to 4k every game or I dc. Really? You do realize you are playing a game with real people right?
You are gonna run into players whether killer or survivor who are going to be a better player than you.
The game is way better balanced than what it was. I would suggest quit trying to 4k every game and try playing for fun and learn new tips.
There are plenty of amazing killers you could watch and learn from. And I know plenty of killers in the forums with awesome strategies.
Why don't you try asking them for tips and advice on how to improve your game. Or search for some in the forums.
-
It was probably just a troll post. But people do tend to get mad if they are having a hard time in the game.
They could be venting because they are a new survivor and getting mostly matches with higher ranked killers. Or they could just be toxic and entitled.
They could just not be having fun in the game and decide to spread their misery on the rest of us.
There are just as many angry killers here as angry survivors. Sometimes you just gotta ignore the trolls, instead of promoting more toxicity by call one side entitled.
Killers feel entitled to 4ks too. There's toxic people on both sides.

Yeah im "entitled" because i recognize a legit issue with the game and point it out, tge same issue the devs recognize and are working to resolve. ######### off dude.
Now you can add misgendering to your list. Lighten up a bit. No need to get so hateful with everyone. Quit insulting people it only makes you look bad.

All anyone usually does in this forum is whine complain and insult people. That seems like a winning combo for most the people on this forum.

Its not my topic genius, this was what I said. You can dig through my post history and find other examples of me saying we need secondary objectives. Go back and look at the op. Its not me.

I dont think increased gen times is a great idea either, but its better than what we have today. Secondary objectives would be prefferable.
It'll be ok, happy gaming. Chin up.

"Other objectives would be nice" tgen we agree. Good deal, now go away.
Lol aww it'll be ok. No matter what you think 3.3 kill average is great.
Enjoy the game more. You were specifically arguing for longer gen times.
Your topic clearly states you're demanding longer gen times. So we are not agreeing on that. Because gen times are fine.
It'll be ok. Keep your chin up.
-
I'm hearing you, "whine, complain, insult."
Even before all the matchmaking changes, killers were still killing roughly 60% of the time.
Even with beefy tool boxes and infinite loops (which were ridiculous, the loops).
Yes some games go faster than others. Each game has so many different variables it's hard for them all to be biased toward one side.
Gens are fine. Other objectives would be nice. But gens are fine.

I cuss because im grown and do what I want to do. Its rare I put anyone down. Whats interesting though is you cant refute what I'm saying so instead you try changing the subject and making it about me. I didnt attack you personally, I pointed out to you tge flaws in the game. Which I'm allowed to do, again, because I'm grown. If you dont like that maybe a forum for a video game isnt for you.
If i didnt like the game i wouldnt play it, its because I like it I want it to be better.
No you kill more than escape, you are just another entitled killer main always after that 4k every game. Because your average of 3.3 kills a game isn't enough. Boo hoo. Complain some more grown up as you are.

Im averaging 3.3 over about 60 games. The kill rates arent the issue. The issue is those numbers are mostly bullshit. When you play against really good survivors they show how much bullshit those numbers are. When they play optimally theres little you can do about it. Which makes those games you did win feel like the bullshit they are.
Go watch the depip squad sometime. Go talk to that dude on twitter thats up to 300 escapes in a row. This games a joke. Its only been saved by a ######### ranking match making system that feeds potatos to top ranked killers so they can say things like you just did.
So I guess the people like you take the game too seriously and spend their time complaining and putting others down to make yourself fell better.
If you dislike the game so much you gotta cuss about it, then perhaps you should try a new game.
I hear civilization is a good one. It's highly recommended by a certain dev.
It's just a game. Play, have fun. If you're not having fun try something else. Take a break, come back. Don't trash talk the game because you disagree with the mechanics of it.
-
4 people on one gen will do that. Legion has a perk where you can see when more than one person is on a gen.
Plus there are a few killer perks that show survivor auras. You can always try that.
Plus gen pressure, gen pressure, gen pressure.
There are a lot of well skilled killers in the forums that can help you up your gen pressure game.
I'm not one of those I'm a crappy killer and even I can manage a 2-3k for a majority of my games. Not all, but for most.

If you're a killer main, you're going to say survivor.
If you're a survivor main, you'll probably say killer.
In reality both roles have their own specific challenges you will face. Best bet is to try each role and see which one you prefer.
Playing both roles will give you more insight into each.

I am offering something, i think they should punish people for doing it. There is an obvious difference between someone taking the chance and someone intentionally doing it 5 seconds into the match, everyone knows it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1364749#Comment_1364749
By that token is DotA 2 or LoL a "party game"? I play those games with my friends too, but it doesn't change the fact that they are a highly competitive game.
The main problem with this game is people make it more competitive than it needs to be.
They get so upset and salty when they don't "win". You play how you want to play and everyone else will play how they want to play. And we all just need to deal with that without trying to force them.
It's a game, it's not life changing and it's not life or death. Dying on first hook is an annoyance to some, but having the option to 4% when the game seems hopeless should remain.
Forcing people to play your play style when they find it unfun will only drive people away from the game. People are already leaving it fast enough.

This is a stupid argument, it is not a party game, and it doesn't matter if you play "casually". All of those games i listed have casual modes. DotA even has a mode called ######### mode. And they STILL ban you if you leave the game early too often in those casual games. The point is, when you do so, you are ruining the game for the rest of you team which is literally against the ToS for DBD.
Seems like a party game to me, since I do play with my friends when not playing killer or soloing.

Again, it's still not a banable offense. We all deal with it, like we all deal with tunneling and camping and whatever else people maybe complaining about at the moment.
I don't like getting stuck in a 3v1 whether killer or survivor. Not being able to differentiate between a 4% try and quiting is where your argument ends.
You can't ban people for trying for 4%, a game mechanic from the very beginning.
And you aren't offering anything to help do so. You're just complaining about it and calling other people's opinions stupid.

@Reinami said:

Yes, you can force them. I'll post what i did in the other thread:
They did it with DC penalties, and i'm tired of hearing this argument.
Name a single other multiplayer game that allows you to suicide/remove yourself from the game while playing ranked.
DotA
LoL
CS:GO
Rainbow 6
Every MMO
All of these games have punishments for leaving games early or intentionally "feeding" (killing yourself on purpose) some of these penalties are extremely hefty. DotA/LoL/CS:GO will actually ban you for several days for doing it, and if you keep doing it your ban eventually escalates to permanent.
The moment you queued up, you signed up to play a game of Dead by Daylight. If you don't like the game or can't finish it, don't queue up. If you don't like how solo survivors play, play with friends. When you queued up for a solo queue game, you signed up for it.
No you can't 'force' people. This is not a competition game as far as I know like the other games you listed.
Everyone I know plays this game casually. No one's entering tournaments and getting money, titles, or prizes.
Dead by daylight isn't Nazi Germany, it's just a game. And no you can't force casual players to play as you would like them too.
-
My guess is more and more people just aren't having fun with it.
-
@Reinami said:
As both killer and survivor i find it absolute bullshit. Happens in a good chunk of my games. When someone does it, either because they don't like the killer or they don't like that they were first downed. It completely ruins the game, basically guarantees the killer will win, and also makes the killer lucky to black pip. It's bad for everyone in the game and there is no excuse to not treat it the same as a D/C
You can't force someone to play a match they aren't having fun in, just so you can score a few points yourself.
I don't agree or disagree with hook suicide, but it's not banable and we all have to deal with it.
There's already a DC ban for rage quiting, but if your gonna start demanding a ban on people going for a 4% chance then missing that 4%, I mean really it's a bit ridiculous.
Just finish your match and move on to the next. Maybe everyone will have fun in that one.
But you can't force people to stay in cause you need points or pips, they don't play for you, they play for themselves. Everyone's play styles are different.

@Orion said:

Hopefully killers stop hooking these survivors so they can't suicide on the hook.
I never understood this mentality. Why would you launch the game if you're not willing to play it?
You can start a game intending to play and have fun, but not every game IS fun to play.
I don't agree or disagree with hook suicide. But I'm thinking since it's not a banable offense it falls in line with tunneling and camping, etc. Just another strategy to use.
-
I would speculate that people dying on first hook are just not having fun and so they opt for a fast hook death escape over dcing. Can't force someone to play if they aren't having fun.

Borrowed Time only triggers when you unhook a survivor in the killer's terror radius. If you are asleep, Nightmare does not project a terror radius to you (it's part of his power), and thus BT will not trigger if you unhook someone.
Thanks! That's good to know.

Those are not "all perks." Those are two perks. Nightmare also bypasses Borrowed Time, stealth characters bypass detection perks, etc. So what?
Also, I'm sure you understand the difference between an intended game play mechanic and an exploit, regardless of whether you like the mechanic or not.
How does Nightmare bypass bt? Not arguing, just curious. I've never heard anyone say he can and I've never noticed on my own.

inb4 more people start bitching about this having not read what he can do and how he works. Survivor mains are cancer/toxic more than half the time, it's really sad.
Killer mains are just as toxic. The whole dbd community is rather toxic. I play both sides and get hate mail no matter which role I play.
Each side complains and says the game is biased towards the other. It's so childish at times. Idk why people can't just play the game without getting so serious about it and without complaining that the devs are favoring one side over the other.
Both sides get nerfs and buffs. Both sides are constantly being adjusted.
-
Most of the community, killers and survivors alike are toxic and salty. Killers think the game is survivor sided. Survivors think the game is killer sided. Your gonna get hate no matter which side you play.
I try to ignore the toxic people and just play for fun. And when I'm no longer having fun I just stop playing. Sometimes this game isn't worth the hassle of all the toxicity it's player base brings.
Sometimes it's just better to play something else.
-
DC bans are needed. The only people complaining about the bans are the ones dcing the most. Is this a troll thread? Sounds like a troll thread to me...

Do you know that Boil Over does not increase wiggle speed? It increases WIGGLE EFFECTIVENESS. So basically it does nothing.
NOED is not fine not only because it rewards failure, its because it does that AND is actually a strong perk that requires no effort to activate and is hardest to counter out of all Hex perks.
Its all of these combined.
Noed is NOT the hardest hex perk to counter... Literally all you have to do is break the totems before egc. That's it. You prevent it before it even spawns. What's so hard about that? Noed is not a problem. Troll thread.
-
Total troll thread.
-
PS4 and Xbox would be cool to cross play. But I'm pretty sure there are PC's out there with faster processors than my Xbox, that would probably wipe the floor with console players.
-
I'll talk to ya! =)
-
You're not wrong. Matchmaking sucks on Xbox right now too. I hope the Devs are working on a fix finally. It really is getting out of hand.
-
As killer I'm blind as a bat, and lunge too soon causing me to miss a lot of swings.
As survivor I panic and potato more often than I like too admit.
-
I agree with Puppers on trapper. He should start the match with ALL his traps. Not saying he should be able to carry them all the whole game. But he should definitely have them all at the beginning.
Seems a bit unfair he has to walk all over the maps to collect them. And it will keep the survivors guessing who the killer is being they can spawn right beside his traps. It's instant knowledge of which killer your facing.
-
I love playing against Bubba. There's just something about looking back over my shoulder and seeing him trotting after me with that face, lol.
With that said I do think the Devs need to show Bubba some love and it would be cool if they gave him a little thinking about.
Please Devs, let's give Bubba some love!
-
I agree that more in-depth tutorials for each killer should be made available. I would benefit greatly from some. But not everyone knows right off how to properly loop and play pallets.
It's a cat and mouse mechanic that can only be learned by watching streamers and practicing to get good enough to loop effectively. And that goes for killers and survivors alike.
SWF's can be tough at times and they have gotten the best of me. But I also have 4k on a 4 man swf before as well.
Working on gens and totems are easy yes. Outsmarting a killer and knowing which loops are safer to play is something that takes more time to get a grasp on.
Survivors are not OP.
Killers are not OP.
Bottom line... You are playing with REAL people, not AI's. You are bound to run into players better at the game then you. And sometimes you will be better than they are. It is just a game. A pretty darn fun one imo.
Yes I get frustrated from time to time. And when I do, I take a break. Maybe play something else for a week or two, sometimes a month.
And when I'm ready to get back into it, I come back. Because this game is fun and every match is different and challenging in its own way.
-
Honestly to me, it seems like the devs tweak killer stuff, then they tweak survivor stuff and back and forth.
I don't think they have biased for either side. All the killers tend to forget all the survivor nerfs, when it comes to their turn, and likewise with survivors when it's theirs.
But I guess no one really notices that.
-
I think the devs made it clear on balanced game was 2 die, 2 survive. I'm pretty sure that's common knowledge.
-
Adam does need a little love.
-
I'm ok with the complaints, I agree this is the place to voice them. I just think that people could do it without insulting each other and being out right hateful.
Everyone has the right to voice their opinions, views, and complaints. Being rude and hateful doesn't solve anything and makes people less likely to take your opinions seriously.

Also, about you not talking down to me, I'm sorry, I just don't care enough about the game to not be a ######### while playing it or to it's players, I saw Meg being an ass earlier on another thread so I had to take a dig at them, that's just how it be chief.
And this is why you should probably just take a break from the game. If you're not having fun, nor do you care about trying new strategies to improve your game experience.
I hear the Devs like to suggest civilization as an alternative. Either way your complaint seems to only affect you and a miniscule percentage of players.
You don't want different strategies or game play ideas. You seem to want only to insult and put down others. Which is very boring in the forums. So try a new game. This one seems to be a bit too much for you. Much luck in your future gaming!
Remember, if you don't want to be stuck in a 3 gen situation, all you have to do is don't put yourself in it. It's just that simple. And I'm pretty sure you can understand that concept.
