It's really hard to enjoy the new map when you can hardly see in front of you. It's too dark for survivor and killer. I play on PS4 so I can't make adjustments like people on PC can. Anyone else having this issue with the new map?
i am using whatever map offerings i have to avoid that particular map. it's crazy dark and i've had survivors literally in front of me and i could not see sh*t. i came to the forums to make a thread about the map, you were faster and i'm glad. hope they manage to adjust the brightness ( not all graphic cards can adjust brightness/gamma and if you do it on control panel settings, it ruins a lot of visual stuff, at least for me :'(

everyone here other than you finds the map darker than the other ones/darker than it should be. maybe you need to get your eyes checked out and maybe also a vibe check for being a smart ass with that comment of yours ?

Or you can be a better killer. They have perks like Franklin's Demise, Tinker, Discordance, Hex ruin (which 99% of them already use), Huntress Lullaby, Over Charge and Pop Goes the Weasel. Killers always crying thats why survivors perks and items always getting debuffed and changed. The point of the game is go in do the gens and escape. Not to play "Ring Around the Rosie" with the killer. Stop being a baby, "Friday 13th" may be a better fit for you. Btw The Nurse and Spirit are some of the easiest killers to play against. Unlike Hill Billy, Cannibal, Michael Myers, Ghost Face, The Wrath and The Clown also the new killer from "Stranger Things" you just sound trash.
i wonder who is the real trash, talking like one, not spending time to actually read my post and the ones who spent some time to give some decent arguments, but instead just typed the first thing that came to their mind..

Apart from playing the game, i enjoy grinding and getting achievements, and since the game is focused on escaping i will do gens if the killers doesnt chase me, but i will regularly chase the killer for boldness points
im not simply focusing on the doing gens thing. im focused on "how" the gens are done. as i already said, i am not telling anyone to not do gens. it's just the toolbox + add ons + perks for gen rushing is making difficult to enjoy the game from the killer side. and when killers try to slow gen rushing by playing top killers ( just top because of the map pressure, not because of any "special" thing ), survivors complain and want nerfs. like how do you want the only killers who can kinda back off the whole rush thing, nerfed ? what would be the point of playing killer then ?

thank you both :) did not know that actually

Totally agree that survivors need a second objective. I'm pretty sure the devs see totems and chests as second objectives, but in truth these can just be ignored completely. Granted, this could bite you with NOED, but at high ranks, you can mostly ignore totems. Survivors need an objective that is both engaging and fun for both sides. I've always been an advocate for something like finding a gas can to start a gen before it can be worked on, or retrieve an item from the basement.
interesting idea, i like it. it would really add relatively more time to the match

Pallet vacuum had nothing to do with the killer. It simply moved the survivor from one side of the pallet to the other instantly. You typically get hit because you lunged at said survivor before the hitbox teleported to the other side. Thankfully pallets don't work like this anymore.
What you experienced would be lag if anything.
actually it happens when i am chasing them and not hiting. i am not even in front of the pallet, i am at the side of it ( close to a structure for ex : a wall or smth ) and i get stunned and "teleported"/moved in front of the pallet when i get stunned

@8obot1c said:
I had a vault vacuum going up against a ghost face I was mashing my button to throw down the pallet in the bus, but then it goes over to the vault and I vault it like what?
i guess you were closer to the window than the pallet and that's why the game vaulted you over the bus window and not dropped the pallet
-
@Spooky13 said:
It's still a tiny bit there but only after you run through the pallet. You can run ahead a tiny bit to bait the killer for another loop, then mash it and get drawn back towards the pallet to stun the killer.
i'm talking about the killer's side. like i said, if i am close to the pallet, like at the border of the wall close to the pallet or in general close to the pallet, i get like sucked at the pallet when the survivor drops it

It's a dilemma. They are just preparing to genrushfor Nurse and spirits while the killer side is preparing to dominate against gerush. It's not like you can discuss with the killer pre lobby "no genrush, no spirit pls" or something else. Both sides are just calculating the worstcase.
i try my best not to play nurse. i do. but almost all other killers do not have map pressure and i either get genrushed or taunted by toxic survivors who just enjoy me playing a "weak" killer. i do not want to play spirit. i have to if i want at least to enjoy this game a little. i usually play huntress/myers/trapper/some wraith but boy do i get angry almost every single time i play them. the majority of survivors has no respect, if they see you doing bad or playing any other killer than the top 3, they get cocky and try to make the match miserable for killer. i'm saying the majority, not all. and if you play one of top 3, then they either dc or complain.

I don't think most people (outside of swf) are trying to get the gens done as quickly as possible. I rarely bring an item. When I do it's because I want to be able to push out at least one gen quickly. You don't know what your team is going to be like. Also a toolbox makes sense. At the start of the game is when you can put the most pressure on gens. If you can get 2 or 3 gens done quickly you have a good chance to escape.
in these 3 weeks i have played, i have only seen solos 10 % of the time at most. 3 ppl swf are all the time, the 4 man swf horror is like 20%. 2 ppl swf is manageable. imo if 2-3 gens are done in the first minutes of the game, then it is almost over for the killer. unless you playing nurse or spirit. imo toolboxes should either go or gen time should be reworked asap.
-
if i could do it that way i would have done it. i actually put a few minutes into writing it so that before people comment nonsense, they actually read what i am trying to express to people
-
the map pressure depends highly on what killer you are playing. you cant apply pressure with huntress for ex. the only way to do that is to get iridescent and one shot them. but ppl would dc. you cant get pressure with wraith. what would the invisible dude do ? spook you off a gen ? what pressure would you apply with trapper ? just a bad map like cornfield or the damn macmillan and you're screwed. the only solution is to main nurse ( now she's dead ), spirit or billy. but everyone hates them. why ? because they are the only ones who actually have map pressure. nerf nurse op add ons. fine with me. nerf prayer beads spirit, fine ( dont know about what needs to be nerfed on billy though, almost never play him). but the gen rush thing needs to be adressed. things cannot only change killer sided. yeah insta heals got changed. still that has nothing to do with the core of this game which is doing gens.

I return you the question, why should a killer respect survivor that pallet loop?
Why should a killer respect survivor when most time they get harrased in the end game chat?
Why should killer respect survivor when they start "totaly randomly" using wake up when it is bugged and give them an unfair advantage?
Stop acting like it is a one way street everyone are ######### and hypocrite
You know killers are faster than survivors right ? They catch up to and eventually down survivors so looping for a while till u get caught isn't bad. If no one looped or at least tried to loop, the game would end pretty fast.

@Nosplash I play perkless Freddy on rank 1. I'd say I know the game pretty well.
It takes 3-4 minutes to complete all 5 gens. If survivors have toolboxes or perks that reduce the required repair time, than it's even less.
Rank 1 survivors don't ######### around, they repair gens even while injured.
But thx for your productive contribution to this conversation.
i'm glad i could help

There was a change recently that changed the way that works. Before it would make a lobby right away, then you'd wait for survivors to fill it. Now, it'll look for survivors to fill it and then make the lobby once it's found a match. The overall queue time should not have changed. If you are getting a significantly longer queue time, please let me know and I'll have the team look into it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/525198#Comment_525198
That's not quite the case. It wasn't based purely on the population in different regions, it was fairly random and could happen to anyone. I would previously get instant queues while people who lived a couple blocks away would end up waiting for half an hour. We wouldn't be able to fix long queue times in low population regions with a new matchmaking system. Both systems would gradually expand their filters and accept people from further away if it could not find a lobby.
Sry for replying on an old comment of yours. My queue times are 8-10mins for killer lobbies. Finding survivor lobbies are almost instant

There seems to be something to do with Firefox and mobile browsers. Switching to another browser (like Chrome) for the time being should fix that. In the meantime, we'll take a look and see what's going on.
I'm using chrome(on mobile) and have the same issue. Super laggy(when typing), kinda laggy(browsing) the forum

The entire gen rush thing is completely valid. It's just not something people should be asking survivors not to do; the exact same way survivors should not be asking killers not to tunnel. Everyone should be getting on the devs to balance their game.
"Apply map pressure. It's not that hard." <- Yeah. It's called tunneling someone out of the game so you only have to be in 3 places at once instead of 4.
I do not have any more arguments/suggestions than the ones i gave but tunneling is a cheap/easy way for the killer to score/"win" the game. Hence the toxicity from survivors. Its like saying i'll break ronaldo's legs forcing him out of the game because i have to take care of one less player on the offence of the opposing team. It works, but it should not come to this. The game was designed for 4 survivors vs 1 killer. It's not meant for you to go out of your way(tunneling) to reduce that number to 3. Just get better at the game and you wont feel the need to tunnel

For better or worse, survivors have no one but themselves to blame for the absolute NEED to tunnel someone out of the game as fast as possible. It's the classic death efficiency problem. If someone doesn't die ASAP, then a good team of survivors will have the gens done in less than 4 minutes. And you cannot play assuming the survivors suck, you have to assume they are a good team. As soon as you get one out of the game though, your life is 10x easier and significantly less stressful.
You don't like this simple fact at higher ranks? Ask the devs to nerf gen rush so killers have the time to be nice to people.
--------------------
Note, I play survivor too. I'm just as guilty as everyone else of gen rushing, and I don't blame any of the players for the current game's state. I just think it's as ridiculous to complain about tunneling as it is to complain about gen rush, and it's the devs people should be complaining at, not other players.
The whole gen rush thing is ridiculous. What are survivors supposed to do if not gens ? Some cleanse dull totems, some dont. If you dont want to get gen rushed, use ruin plus haunted grounds for ex. go chase and hit as many survivors as you can, dont focus on one only until u hook him if you fear you'll get gen rushed(while chasing him). Apply map preasure, it's not that hard. Tunneling is not a good solution. It's a cheap one. Nerfing gen rushing would be uneffective. Ppl would still tunnel. It's the easy thing to do when you're not a good player

@Tsulan said:
Killer can chase only 1 person at a time. Sure he can chase them away from the gens, but once he starts chasing someone to down him, the others go back to the gens. It's 1vs4
On low ranks you can put on pressure as killer. But on high ranks, the killer is under pressure.
That's why there are 5 gens. so that even if you chase away one guy, you still have to take care of the other survivors. Just git gud and stop complaining
-
Exactly what you said. I don't think most of the players can play for many hours and i guess most appreciate how long a match takes. Adding a second objective would increase that time and make it longer/harder and as such maybe not as much fun for everyone. To me dbd is a relatively quick game and it's not designed to do "many" things to "win". Just quick fun. Ruin extends the time but it's still enjoyable. I think the game is good the way it is
-
Not sure if this has ever been discussed, but curious what the overall balance of the game would look like if when repairing a gen, your camera was unable to move or maybe even zoomed in on the gen a bit.
That is a terrible idea. The whole point of survivors having a different pov than the killer is to be able to look the surrounding area as to avoid being immediately detected by killer. Your suggestion is a bit ridiculous to me. It would affect too much negatively the gameplay and not just a bit as you think.

This is something inevitable that’s been slowly happening forever. All the survivor things that got nerfed deserved and needed it. The truth of the matter is that the game is and has mostly been about how much time survivors waste. 4 perkless sirvivors can still triple escape against 14 killers without much issue lol.
4 perkless survivors against 14 killers ? Are u for real ?

i understand the killer main fan boys are going to say he is not op, but he is exacty that. He stalks up way too fast, don't care what anyone says. I got plenty of stream proof to provide more than enough video evidence of him tiering up in seconds, and every ghost face killer in the game doing nothing but camping, tiering up in seconds.
It is so sad it's a joke.
exactly man. hard camping and tiering up super fast. it's impossible to play against. have played 12 times agains GF now and not a single one of them a survivor escaped. not a single one. no i'm not lvl 20. and all of the games they have camped.
-
Yes please increase the volume again. It's way too low and the sound quality has decreased

"stops the last genrator from being completed for at least 3 to 9 minutes"
bro are you lvl 20 and cant progress any further or are you just high ? maybe playing killer isnt your thing. try survivor for a change. i for ex am lvl 7 survivor but lvl 18 killer. killer just isnt my thing. and still lvl 7 doesnt mean anything, i still cant loop properly but i find playing survivor way easier as playing killer. and killers surpass survivors in a lot of stats. there's no way survivors are OP. have you noticed that at the post game results, killers have the most bloodpoints ?
anyway, quick games mean either survivors are good and killer is potato or the other way around. at lower ranks you will find out that the game is stretched quite a while and is enjoyable for both sides. just try survivor if you havent yet
