  • gonna keep posting until this is fixed.

  • op is a joke, keep feeding the trolls fam

  • 3 hooks with relatively quick downs, no ruin, 1 gen remaining. How is a killer supposed to combat that? fix your #########, bhvr

Why do people attack other people in some of these posts.

because they refuse to open their ######### eyes and see that gen speeds ARE a problem and actually do something about them.

  • Just another example of how little the devs care about fixing killer issues.

  • The dev's don't care what the killer experience is. As long as the survivor mains of the world are happy, they will do whatever they want to keep it that way. Don't hold your breath hoping the dev's will do anything to cater to Killer mains or just the killer experience at all.

  • nah fam, i find it ridiculous to think that someone can get a 4k in 100% of their killer games (OP: "every time I play killer I get a merciless 4k") at red ranks. I cant get a 4k every time in my games, Streamers I watch who play this game at rank 1 cant get a 4k in every game they play. PS4 must be a ######### cakewalk if you can get a 4k in every game you play in.

  • get this idea that killers wanting to get kills is the "try hard" thing to do out of your head. its the Killers OBJECTIVE TO KILL PEOPLE. ######### off with that mentality that because they want people dead they're sweaty or "try hards."

  • "Every time I play killer I get a merciless 4k, and I also show TONS of mercy in every match. "

"Then again, I play on PS4, and about 95% of all survivors are complete potatoes"

    image.png

Either you're not in red ranks as a killer, or PS4 really is full of potatoes and therefore their opinion doesn't count.

  • "Allow pressing blink to cover the length of a pallet by default." dumbest idea in your whole post. do you not do 1-inch blinks to fake out the survivor ever?

to address the topic, the Nurse is fine. if anything I wish she'd be reverted because the blink on a charge system is dumb.

  • I didn't read your post. The fact that SWF on comms can say "Oh he's on me do gens" or "no he's going back run" gives such a HUGE advantage to survivors and is absolutely a problem.

  • @Peanits said:

I like scary stuff as much as the next guy, but just adding blood and gore isn't going to make it scary again. At some point, you just get hardened to the horror aspect of the game.

there's a difference between getting hardened to the horror aspect and survivors just outright disrespecting killers because they know they'll get away with it.

  • the survivor grab animation cancel was in the game prior to dedicated servers and the devs did nothing about it. Dont expect them to fix it any time soon.

  • Devs dont care, these threads wont do anything. Same with any form of gen speed discussion.

  • I dont, because the Devs have broken their backs to give the survivor the moon in terms of tools to escape and if they still get caught by me they deserve the hook.

  • Gen speeds in combination with the amount of second chance options the survivors have. Its ######### ######### and the devs will never address it.

  • *Keys shouldn't exist

    fixed it for you

I understand the keys part of your post. But... if I have 64 Toolboxes, 45 medkits, 24 flashlights, and 10 maps, if I use 1 Medkit, fully deplete it to 0 then escape, essentially I will keep that 1 Medkit. So I would still have 45 Medkits. How will our stuff deplete?

I don't understand how this is the confusing bit.

If you die (sacrificed or mori'd), your medkit, etc is gone.

If the killer has franklin's and you dont recover your item, your medkit, etc is gone.

if you use all of the charges in the item and escape, you dont lose the item

  • Finally i can play a game without being punished because some self entitled git decided he wanted to DC on the death hook instead of just take it.

  • i 100% believe the map could be removed and no one would notice a difference in gameplay

  • "Killer can hit but survivor feels cheated" lmao even their examples about latency are survivor biased. Nevermind all the times killer should hit but latency ######### them over. Survivors feel cheated and that's the only thing that matters.

Yea sure I did just cause You haven't read through the challenges don't try to sound like a know it all God u just embarrassed urself

i think he means how do you intend on getting 5 hooks in the basement if you camp/1 hook everyone.

alternatively, just use iron grasp and agitation, makes getting to the basement that much easier.

(on topic) The fact of the matter is there's already a system in place that punishes the killer for camping. If the survivors are stubborn enough to stay within range while he's camping - with no clear intent to chase anyone who comes up for the unhook - then that's on them.

Again, its a sucky part of the game, but its part of the game.

I have a degree in EE, I program way more complex systems than video games at work..... Actually, simulators so I know what it takes to run a "game" it wouldn't be too different than how AOE perks work already. Nice try though

if that's the case, you come up with the code and send it to them.

  • "Is it so hard to subtract points from like brutality or hooks when they are 0.1m away from the hook staring at it? Or at least giving the hooked survivor some distraction points (altruism)?"

Yes. it is so hard to fit the scenario you suggested into the coding of the game which is already fairly complex. Take some time to look up how games are coded and you'll understand.

Face camping sucks if you're the first one it happens to in a game. but its part of the game. Suck it up, shake it off and move on with your life.

  • To answer the question posed by the title: Both the Processor and CPU were released in 2014. If they still work to your liking, i wouldn't say you need to upgrade it, however it would be beneficial to do so as better processors have been released.

As for getting advice on upgrading a PC, perhaps the Off Topic forum would be better suited for your needs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/off-topic

  • You also acknowledge that the video you used for your prime example (I say its your prime example because its the one you showed to the thread as your example) was against a super altruistic team (and a dim one at that, as they ignored the free basement unhook to try and save the second hook).

threads like these dont prove anything. I could give a sampling of games where I was gen rushed to hell and create a thread doing the same thing, but in opposite.

  • When you make the game easier for the lemmings, they make their way where they dont belong. Well done, you found a series of 3 (maybe four) cherry-picked games to support your narrative.

What you dont show is the black pip you received for killing them too quickly.

  • its either fast (while sprinting) or slow. there's no inbeween. and unlike window vaults, you can do a standing sprint vault over pallets.

    1. Again, they gain a speed boost from Lithe and Balanced Landing. They become faster than a Bloodlust III killer.
    2. I didn't twist anything. You said chased across map/no exhaustion. I went for that point as presented. As for hitting the unhooked person, that seems like an aim assist problem. As a console player, it's happened to me a lot.
    3. I never stated numbers. Your example is an exception, I will give you that. However, if I had to categorise it under my two categories, it'd be under BAD PLAY. In which case, you let the person with Deep Wounds run off, down the person who used Dead Hard, then hook them.

    1) Clearly you missed the comparison. Without Lithe or Balanced Landing, Vaulting or falling from a high place does not impose exhaustion, similar to how unhooking a survivor wouldnt impose exhaustion. With lithe or balanced landing, these things are triggered, the trade being a quick burst of speed for an exhaustion status effect. With borrowed time, the trade off would be guaranteeing a safe unhook for the exhaustion status. As a note, this isnt 100% what the change would have to be, but off the top of my head it's one change that could make sense to me.

    2) Do you know what dead hard does? it's not an aim assist problem as the killer cannot hit them during dead hard, and the only accessible hitbox is that of the unhooked survivor.

    3) This is a completely different point than your original "dismantling" of camping, in which you cited the description and said "the killer must be close, thereby bad play," supporting the idea of camping. But to comment on the "bad play" aspect, why is chasing a survivor to a hook considered a bad play? Is it because it doesn't allow for the survivor to get a free and easy unhook? That's not how it works. A killer shouldn't be punished because a survivor chooses to make an unsafe play.

I read through the first page initially.

Now to dismantle your points you have just given me:

    • Lifting the survivors: This is a common thing in game that does not trigger Exhaustion normally for anyone, so why should one perk be affected with this?
    • Killers chasing people across the map: Doesn't matter for Exhaustion anyway, because it is triggered by the initial Exhaustion PERK or Killer ADD-ON. Not the Survivor literally casually jogging.
    • Camping: A lot of time I see Borrowed Time being used, and in the perk description, activates in the killer's terror radius. This means that the killer must be close. BAD PLAY or CAMPING. That thing I said.

Maybe take your own advice and think before you post, please.

first point: Vaulting and dropping from high places are also common things that do not trigger exhaustion normally. Why should one perk be effected with this?

Second Point: You twisted the example I gave you. In the example I used, the survivor was hit, rushed to the hook, unhooked a survivor, **THEN** used dead hard so that the attack that would down them hit the unhooked player instead. There's no camping in this scenario, but just because the killer chased the survivor to the hook, Borrowed time is activated and no one gets downed.

Third point: You didnt defend anything here. You just ignored the scenario I provided and went straight to the main survivor scapegoat of "camping op." I recognize that Camping is an issue and was the whole reason for this perk's initial creation/implementation, however I disagree that 90% of the time BT triggers is because "tHe KiLlEr iS a CaMpInG nOoB"

Like your original idea? What EXHAUSTION is there to be had with borrowed time? All the other exhaustion perks have the player actively overexerting themselves for a speed benefit.

Your idea taxes people for using a perk that almost seems mandatory because one side is basically forcing them to do so, so rather than nerfing one of the few options Survivors have, how about trying to change how Killers operate as of late?

There is no LORE reason. There is no MECHANICAL reason. This just sounds like a dumb idea that is unfounded, and unnecessary. Go and punish bad Survivors for making stupid plays, or stop trying to camp and tunnel people out of a game.

    How about that?

Right, lifting a person off a hook higher than their head who weighs at least half or more than their own body weight while running from a killer displays no output of exertion on the rescuer's behalf.

If you read through the thread, you would have seen the example i gave before where the killer is chasing a survivor from half-map away, who gets a survivor off a hook then proceeds to dead-hard away from an attack. There's no camping in that scenario.

    Think before you post, please.

Why bother? 95% of what I see on here lately is people calling the devs names or calling each other stupid.

why bother? so you can contribute to the discussion instead of ignorantly spewing nonsense

and in case anyone misconstrues that as an insult, I'm using this definition of ignorant:

"lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about a particular thing."

  • I think you meant to pick option 2, you said 3 which was the option you proceeded to explain as an exploit lol.

Stating standing there for hours is a ridiculous example, since no one will spend hours in a game like that just to secure a single down.

As for it being an exploit, IMO that's a ridiculous thought as it's only a problem if

    1) the survivors refuse to give in and attempt to bait the attack

    and

    2) only a real threat to killers who can one-shot (like Leatherface in the above example). In any other situation, the survivor gets smacked once and can run away (See: Basement blocking for a hit after an unhook while the survivors are fleeing, or blocking a survivor in on a totem space or another space a killer can body-block a survivor in)

I would argue that by refusing to get hit for putting themselves in the position to where they only have ONE escape, the SURVIVORS are the ones causing the game to be held hostage. In this scenario, only one survivor is knocked into the dying state while the other is free to either be chased down or unhook the survivor.

Is it sleezy? yes. An exploit? Not at all.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Good killers would go after the person unhooking.

No. It doesn't make sense either, why would I be tired from lifting a person off a meat hook. I'm not that weak. And can we stop with unnecessary exhaustion, like the ones with add-ons, Mindbreaker, and Nemisis.

This is the most ridiculous and off-base comment I think I've read so far.

You've never been in a situation where you would attempt lifting a FULL GROWN PERSON, weight ranging from what appears to be 150-250lbs who has been fully impaled on a hook hanging roughly 6 feet off the ground. I guarentee you wouldn't be able to do it without some sense of exertion. Even with adrenaline being a factor, you'd still feel something once the adrenaline wears off.

    holy #########.

  • @Nutty_Professor said:

You know there is a counter to the current version of borrowed time.

It's called not camping the hook.

So when I hit a survivor half the map away and they beeline for the hook, unhook the person on the hook, then deadhard through them so I hit the person they just unhooked, activating BT and continue running away, that's my fault for camping the hook?

    good one.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

As long as killers can play cheap by default this would be a "ez win" - card for killers.

Man you're funny. Survivor's whole thing is "ez win" thanks to BHVR.

  • People also seem to be missing the part in the leaked notes where "madness regresses while outside of the terror radius." (if you had them in tier 2 but not tier 3) If this is true, you have to work all the more to get them back into tier 3 madness.

    Cool. /sarcasm

  • I love how first reason they listed for Ruin's change is "Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks"

Because heaven forbid new players should practice and learn over time how to hit great skill checks. What about the rank 1 games where survivors muscle through ruin and finish games in 8 minutes, if not faster? There are plenty of videos available on youtube of high-skilled killers getting rushed to hell even with ruin up.

BHVR missed the mark on this by a mile, and if they honestly think this is okay after the PTB goes live it'll show they truly don't care about the killer base.

  • @DwightOP said:

Just play swf. Killer is to stressful, solo Q to frustating. The only fun part of dbd is swf. Once more and more people realise this the game is dead since noone wants to play the other roles.

Tell me, who would you play against if everyone took this advice?

  • @Uxoricide said:

Hey @Peanits , hope all is well! Are the stats including how long Ruin is up for in red ranks?

It feels like it goes down almost immediately most times and considering how it often spawns in plain sight I feel like this update could be tweaked a little bit more?

I love the fact that they use stats for red ranks then balance for ranks 15-20, even if the stats they use are partial and only serve to justify their needs in making the game easier once again for the survivor. If this patch goes through as is, this game will be dead before year's end.

  • cause heaven forbid the survivors should have to pay attention to the gens they're repairing.

  • they dont care. It's all about making the game "less frustrating" for survivors.

  • @serabeth90 said:

I think what needs to be at the top of the list now would be bridging the gap between solo survivors and SWF and buffing certain killers that might be C or D tier up to A or B tier. Once more killers are in a decent place, I think they should consider nerfing nurse a bit, but I don't think she should be nerfed until they have buffed the other killers to a good level. Then once all that is done, looking at ways to give survivors more to do than genrush would be good....then maybe once all that is done, they can look at the hatch standoff :P.

    ....no.

  • @George_Soros said:
For DC: I think if two are dead and the third disconnects, hatch should not spawn at all. Suiciding to give hatch is fine, but dc? That's a big no.

Survivors can't always control when the game is gonna screw them over and drop them for one reason or another. Not every DC is on purpose, and it wouldn't be fair to the other survivors if what you suggested above were to be implemented.

Again, I'm just asking that the dev's put figuring out an alternate solution to the hatch-escape mechanic at a higher priority than it is currently because as it stands my options are to Slug 2 people, which isnt fun for me or the survivor being slugged, or pray I can hit a survivor twice before they find the hatch and get their god-mode and "just hit them and move on," as so many of you have suggested.

Neither option is very fun, nor do they feel good. Please move this up on your priority, devs.

  • @sixty4half said:
Really, this cry baby thread again.

From a killer; please stop.  You're embarrassing yourself

Why is it embarrassing myself to request the dev's step up and actively work on an end game alternative that they've admitted they want to change instead of continuing to delay it as they've been doing?

This change is necessary and needs to happen.

  • I reread my original post and I'm pretty sure I was requesting that they move up the priority of sorting this issue out. you all are blowing this out of the water claiming it as "another hatch standoff thread."

They've said numerous times that they're working on an alternate solution, yet in the meantime they've put out a couple of events, a new killer, some cosmetics, all things that could have been time spent working towards a solution to an unbalanced, broken mechanic.

If they did nothing but dedicate all of their resources to figuring out and trying alternate end-game mechanics for the next 6 months (an extreme example, calm down all you touchy people out there) I'd be okay with it. But as it stands currently it feels like they don't care about it and are content to just let the killers get the ######### end of the stick when it comes to the last survivor.
