Oh lord. Not sure whether to laugh or cry here, but instead i shall do my best to be nice even though this kind of stuff just makes my hackles rise. The simple fact is, if you do not like this character, you do not have to play her. If you don't like the idea of her appearing in your survivor matches....well I'm sad to say this is where your problem hits a brick wall, because it is YOUR problem and you cannot dictate to millions of players who/how/what they should play, you just can't, and that is a fact you need to understand before anybody takes you seriously.
You didn't come to this post with compromise and a willingness to understand anybodies view, you came here with a demand, the equivalent of stomping your food and declaring 'do it now'
And your answer if they don't do it [Insert Cartman voice] screw you guys I'm going home.
I'm not going to argue about how women are presented in video games, it seems to be a circular argument with you, plus I'm a 36 year old woman and I can only grin wearily when the subject comes up before grinning and remembering the days of the 'naked lara cheat, and hot coffee

The current player climate is weighed heavily against you, and that is what will win out at the end of the day, because its not an issue that has any affect on the gameplay itself (unless someone is truly distracted by the jiggle mid skill check!) nor is it an issue that even has an effect on the majority of female players from what i have seen so far, and I've read a lot of these threads.
I can't say your particular beef is ever going to be popular around here, but if you want actual constructive conversation here, don't walk in here with demands, and do not presume to speak for other woman.
(Apologies if that was sprawling, dental pain meds kicking in!)
Looking at you, I think 36 is the age who can have conservative thoughts. Now that you've said that, you can't be nice. 'whether to laugh or cry?' I don't know how to answer, does this matter seem to you to laugh? Look at how I've been answering, I think it'll be enough. I don't want to argue with you as a woman.

You're calling them names and not even giving valid points as to why your opinion on the matter is close to being an actual problem but instead resort to childish BHVR with name calling and ignoring requests for reasoning behind your statement. This is why you're not taken seriously.
I e-mailed the DBD developers and they checked it out. Whether or not they take it seriously, I have let them know that there is such an opinion. That's my purpose. You can't read it even if I tell you this is a actual problem. It's Korean.

How are people like this actually serious? To find a portrayal of a feminine character attractive. NOPE...we can't have that. Something wrong there....To say that, I've already seen posts telling her she's sexy.

@Someone said:
I can't understand why you say that Hag's design is good while Spirit's bad while their designs are very similar. They both almost died and both look like living corpses with something that you can guess was cloth once. Of course you can say that Spirit could have her clothes that she weared before becoming who she is now. But her and Hag's outfits only shows how devastating for them (both mentally and physically) were events that led to becoming a killer. Their clothes are as much destroyed as they are. Also why should corpse care about clothing? And about breast bouncing. It's natural that breasts bounces (unless you have a very very small breasts). Even if you wear sports bra they do bounce more or less. I don't know if you're a man or woman. I'm a woman and I don't find it disturbing and I don't see it as "sexual objectification". Actually I haven't even noticed that their breasts bounces. I guess if you're a man and you can't focus on game because of that I can kind of understand that's a problem. But yeah if you want Kate, Spirit and rest of female characters to have breasts made of stone or something go for it...
Also you say David's case is different because he's a fighter. It's not different. A well-built man with no shirt is sexy no matter if he's supposed to wear it or not. With that logic they should add sexy swimsuit for Meg because she's an athlete. Besides what is wrong with attractive/sexy characters in games? We all like to look at anything that is nice looking and that includes attractive people. I see a lot of games and movies with sexy, attractive male characters (mostly main characters) and I haven't seen anyone complaining about it but everytime it's a female there's a sea of complaints.
Besides if someone is attracted to corpses it's their problem not yours so why do you care?
Because Hag was not sexual objectification. And Hag is almost bare of bones. It doesn't look like a human being. Is her breast boucing like a Spirit? And Spirit's a dead body, not Hag. I'm a woman, too. I doubt you are really a woman. I knew from a tweet that her breast was boucing. Can a bandage be fastened and a small breast bounce like that? Well, I don't think so. And Meg is a runner. Why do athletes need swimsuits? They're the ones who created their problems.
-
@popoles said:
Why can't her breasts bounce? When you have big breasts, they ARE going to bounce, whether you like it or not. It's called physics. You're not a female, are you? I don't know what's in your head, her small breast is boucing, even she wear bandages.

I don't see the problem. As I understand it, the devs were trying to design a spirit-like killer.
And in my view, they succeeded.

Lol you think this new killer is the first sexualized killer, have you met the clown now HE needs to be completly censored from the game, sexy beast ; )Is that why his breast is boucing? If I'm saying wrong, it's because of translation, you stupid. I am already tired of thinking about talking with you here even I using the translator. And this post has more content than the other. You think it's just the same thing. It is the same thing. Your main points are sexual objectification, change the lore because it is graphic and offensive to people of eastern culture, and that you will probably quit if not changed. Everyone like you is saying these things, your not the first one. Just look through the older threads.
I would bet money that you and a majority of the people complaining are going to play the game anyways, whether you like the new killer or not. No one will drop one of their beloved games just because of one problem. After all, killers stick around even with decisive strike in the game and gens popping ridiculously fast.
Then you'll have to pay. People around me are already quitting DBD. And it's not because of Eastern culture. Because they're all about women. It's okay if they don't care about my opinion, at least they'll know if they see one of these opinions. It's not a developer, but at least some users.

Yeah, I know that game but I'm talking about a problem with DBD. Don't try to compare it to other games. You're clouding the issue now.Oh but you missed every other point i discussed? And plus the situations happen in both games yet one gets ######### on and the other doesn’t? I am still talking about DBD nonetheless, just comparing it to another game in order to prove a point. It only helps my case that they are both asymmetrical horrors. Idk why this issue is a problem when it happens in a MAJORITY of games coming out.
Your input on this social issue literally brings 0 balance and or feedback that benefits the game’s newest chapter. There are cosmetics in the game files that give her clothes so if u are so entitled to your opinion, just wear that instead when the actual dlc drops. Also, the devs resisted in adding a clown earlier because the phobia for them was so common and then they went back on their word and added him. Guess who conplained? NO ONE. Appreciate that the devs are actually adding killers and survivors on a set schedule every 3 months and not one in 3 months or 5 months or 7 months you never knew before.
Im sorry but your post literally doesn’t do anything for the game, i have to restate that. Even if a 100 people leave to ######### riot 1000 more will join in your places so why would the devs botger listening?
If I had played the game, I must have criticized it. And there are dozens of stories about me stopping playing games, and it's not important that I quit. I want them to know that this problem is serious enough for users who really liked DBD to quit playing games. I'm not asking them to be interested in quitting. They may not be interested in what I am saying, but at least some users will know that there is such an opinion. Of course, it's very nice of them to produce new killers, survivors, and maps every season. But that doesn't mean her problem is justified.

You're right I didn't see that part but your point is still invalid... you say it doesn't count with the hag because she looks like a corpse but so does the spirit. I don't know what your deal is but just leave dbd alone and they aren't gonna change anything for a few people that think a near naked killer is a bad thing. To sum it up your opinion is dumb the killer that has clothing on and is chopped up is bad but the killer that LITERALLY HAS A NIPPLE SHOWING isn't. I just don't understand people like you
When did I say hag look like a corpse? I said she doesn't feel sexually because she doesn't look like human. If Spirit was designed like that, I wouldn't have said anything. It's not the problem that naked killers are. If it was a problem, I would have seen Hag and said something. And I didn't criticize her because she was naked and cut. Rather, she liked the design of her broken joints. You really don't understand. You'll never understand.

Also, its ok to sexually objectify a male character like they did with Ace and his porn mustache and his oh so sexy tight shorts and leopard print shirt that is button down so we can see his delicious chest.........ok, sorry, my mind wandered for a second. Basically what you are informing us is you are a hypocrite, a sexist towards men and a body shamer. Ok, gotcha. Thanks for playing. No, it shouldn't be justified even if she's overweight. Not because she's skinny. And does Ace's clothes go against his character? Is he exposing himself like Spirit, or is his breast bouncing?

Should we wear burqas on the beach, or what? Sounds like a religion, haha.I don't feel anything for the spirit, maybe because I am not into women that much, I can't vouch for everyone else.
What are you talking about? Do you think women dress that way to make them look good to you? They want to wear it that way. Not because I want to be your eye food. I can't believe what you said. Do women have to dress that way on the beach because of your eyes? You're not interested in women and you talk so easily. Don't go anywhere and say such a shocking thing, it's awful. First, sorry about my bad English but I really have to tell my opinion.
I really liked playing DBD and I loved it.
BUT I've loved Dead by daylight until the new killer comes out.I love her blue skin, broken joints, luxuriant hair, and the fact that the father who killed her isn't the killer.
When I saw the new killer, I was disappointed to DBD developers.
So far, DBD developers hasn't given a sexual objectification to female characters. ( Hag is stripped but does not feel sexual because she does not look human. )I mean, why did you give her a sexual objectification? She looks almost like a corpse.
Her trailer, her body, her body-painting bandages ( If you were gonna put on a bandage, you should have done it like wraith), her lack back story unlike other killers , breast bouncing, her standing motion are terrible ideas.I even thought DBD developers were different from those who designed the huntress, nurse, and hag.
Don't ask me why I didn't say anything about David. He's a fighter. His clothes are not out of character and doesn't have sex appeal. So don't mention it. But she's dead. Why is the mutilation murdered daughter wearing only a bandage ( even little )? You said she was a college student. Why didn't you put her in normal clothes? If you were gonna put a bandage on her, you should have put more bandages on her.Well, there's a lot of people out here in the debate saying that it's crazy to see dead bodies sexually, and they're telling her she's sexy. It's ironic, isn't it? I've always thanked you for giving us a variety of back story and no sexual designs even they were female killer. But now, you are not. At least you need to modify her costumes and get rid of her breast bouncing ( Kate too ). Lastly, you will need to add more back stories to support her.
Because you're smart, I'm sure you understand. If she come to original server like this, I will be really angry and quit playing games with disappointed mind ( to DBD developers ). It's not a threat, it's a notification. You've done a great job so far, and I hope this time you can improve. I want you to go back to your original mind ( initial DBD ) , and don't lose it. I hope it's an opportunity for you to reflect on yourself.
Please dont assume its gender.
In fact devs hint that new killer is a transgender:https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/editor/ge/nurkk4t9ppdd.png
So if you wanna start with this SJW stuff, please be political correct at least

So, even if she's transgender, does the problem go away?

I think you're the one who doesn't think it's a problem. Do you really think it's not a problem to see her sexy with a dead body? Just because opinions and minds are freedom of speech does not mean that you can say anything. And I'm not forcing you to change as I said. They need to figure out the problem with this character. The problem is that they don't realize it.
So what is this problem? That people think that a character in a video game is sexy? Over the years of gaming there has been countless titles that have had 'sexy' undead characters and no one had an issue with those. Like I think the skin exposure on the Spirit actually adds to the creepiness. Seeing skin that's blue is unnerving. Like I don't think it's an issue for people to find a game character sexy. And what about the people that find Huntress sexy even though she's a demented killer? So just because she's not undead it's ok? I just honestly think this 'problem' that you're trying to dig up is nothing more than a personal problem if anything.
Please, I've never played such a game and I'm just pointing out that the game I've been playing has that problem. I would point it out again if it was another game I was playing. And I've always thought there was a problem with sexy undead. When they gave her sexiness, I wouldn't say anything if they gave breast bouncing to male character who has big breast. Blue skin is not a problem. The problem is she looks like a corpse and gives her sexiness. And many articles already say she's sexy. Huntress doesn't look like a corpse, and Huntress doesn't wear only a few bandages like her. It's not a problem to tell her she's sexy. There are already quite a few comments about her problems that I have written about, to say my opinion is personal.
So. In other words. This is a personal problem for you to deal with. Gotcha.
What are you saying, you really don't understand my post. If it means so, the translation would be wrong. I never said I was personal. I'm surprised when you talk to me, your understanding is so bad. It's not a personal matter already. You just didn't intend to discuss this. Honestly, this isn't going to take you seriously at all.
Allow me to explain.
Nobody cares about your personal moral dilemma.
Nobody cares if you play the game or not.At the end of the day, the majority of DbD players are not objectifying the new killer. But, your little group of extremists are.
You are the sexist here, nobody else.
Please stop trying to inject your ideology into the game. Just run on back to Tumblr.
Well, if you've looked at this Forum properly, you know I'm not the only one to discuss it. And I'm a sexist? I'm talking about gender equality, you're the sexist. You're right that you didn't really understand my post. And yes, no one would care about me quitting. But what I want to talk about through this is that it's a serious problem that makes a user stop playing games. I don't want them to be interested in me quitting. And I don't do Tumblr.
Yes, you are sexist. You (and your little group of extremists on here) are looking at this character strictly through the lens of sex. Nobody else is doing that. Which is the problem with feminism, intersectionality, and identity politics as a whole.
You think you are fighting for equality, when you are actually trying to gain power and influence. You try to fight racism and sexism at every turn, because everything you see is racist or sexist. This is because you are focused on seeing things based on race or sex, making you both racist and sexist.
What you are following is an ideology. A religion that replaces God with women. That cites intersectionality as it's ten commandments, and decries the "Patriarchy" as it's Devil.
You need to take a look at what you are spouting with a critical eye and realize that you are just a set of talking points with no critical thought behind them. You have become the mouth piece for racism and sexism.
Am I seeing her sexually? I asked you repeatedly if you read my post correctly. This is problematic because there was someone who called her sexy. And I've seen them all over the place. You're rather sexist because you don't recognize it. Not me. If you took this matter seriously, you wouldn't have been sexist. Look at the world. You're falling behind.

Then I think you're the problem.

Ah I've had that issue before. I can understand that. And what strange things are you talkin about? lol
If I'm saying wrong, it's because of translation, you stupid. I am already tired of thinking about talking with you here even I using the translator. And this post has more content than the other. You think it's just the same thing.

Oh and you don't mind the idea of killing people and yet as soon as some skin shows you magically have a problem? I guess your priorities are in need of a checkup. Also why didn't you have a problem with shirtless David? Isn't that sexual objectification based on your terms? Such hypocrisy.Have you read my post? I said there were people who said she was sexy. It's a problem in itself that there are people like that. Just because you don't see it like that doesn't mean no matter with it.
I read your post and yet I see no issue. And who cares if they find her sexy? What's it to you any way? It's their opinion and their minds. Why should the developers listen to you just because you have an issue with something that is subjective in nature? Also is it a problem if I find a girl on the beach sexy? What do you want me to do? Just throw out my sexuality? Or are you gonna just try and censor that girl like she's a forbidden fruit? Just because you see it as a problem doesn't it is a problem.
Btw you didn't answer my question as to why you didn't have a problem with shirtless David yet.
No, you didn't read my post properly. If you read it correctly, you wouldn't ask a question about David. And is it a problem to look sexy on the beach? Of course.

I mean, it's a M rated game. I guess the devs are going to need to put partial nudity in the rating.
Do you think I'm pointing out that she's naked? I think you need to understand my writing better. And you seem to be absolutely justified by M-rated games.I tried to look good on the new character, but there were so many problems.

Have you heard of Friday the 13th: The Game? Yah...that has waaaaaay more sexual objectification than this game so idk why as soon as the devs add a killer that is revealing yet very cool, it pisses you all off when f13 has almost every character with sexual objectification. Don't give that excuse that "Ohhhh it's just f13, that's how it is in the movies so it is just true to the movies" Well dbd is true to it's lore and that's what she was wearing at the time. Her lore is disturbing BECAUSE it is so realistic. Horror pulls from the realm of possibility to make a person fear what could happen. Several killers had demented backstories like the descriptive Clown bio where he cuts off limbs from animals and also takes pleasure in torturing his victims. No one says anything about that? Also, women are murdered by their father's EVERYWHERE. Stop acting like it is only in Asia because it is not.
Your post also restates every single point other people had on this forum so you literally just read someone's post, got angry, made your own account just to post this garbage that everyone else is saying. This is Dead by Daylight rated M for mature, not Awake by Dawn rated E for everyone. I literally didn't even think about the sexual objectification until all of you people started slandering the new killer because of it. It's annoying because a lot of people were more focused on her perks and gameplay while you are focused on assaulting the killer because it is not politically correct. Ik i sound toxic rn but it is because i am annoyed by these people not giving any valuable feedback on the patch based on balance but on a killer's looks. I happen to have tons of female players telling me how amazing the new killer is and ik everyone is using that point as back-up but literally only a select few of you all on the forums are getting pissy about it.
Yeah, I know that game but I'm talking about a problem with DBD. Don't try to compare it to other games. You're clouding the issue now.

Well, Killers aren't rather supposed to look like humans and have also the humans' traits. I understand what you are feeling and how it looks, but it was created as a in-game character, designed to be terryfing, scary. I think there is nothing wrong with her appearance, even if she is barely clothed. Don't take it too serious, as it is just a creature walking 'round the fog.Are there really any problems? Since Kate, they've given breast bouncing to female characters for sex appeal. Even if they didn't mean it, it wouldn't be good to see breast bouncing happen all of a sudden.
