    Thank you for your comments. You both bring out exactly the point that I talk about:

    "One concern with permanent alternative modes is splitting the player base and increasing queue times."

    Which is a very valid and fair concern. You may not like the mode, which is fine—de gustibus as they say—but many others do. Most of my friends personally play only when some modes are out because the game itself, without the modes, is kind of repetitive. But that's beside the point; my suggestion was accompanied with an answer to what is the possible problem of long queues:

    A multi-queue system could help solve this.
