i do know how it feels i just don't care since i primarily play killer and understand where the killer comes from also when i do play survivor i play solo

do you play killer to understand why killers do that?

The only killers I see doing that is people like Oni Twins Billy Bubba and Nurse. Its annoying tbh and yes I play killer I play Onryo I don’t slug with her the best I’ll do is probably tunnel but slugging is worse than anything

if slugging for the 4k is such a problem and you have options to deal with it but don't use it is kinda a you problem at that point

According to my post above I have a lot of people agreeing with me a lot of votes up. Tells you there’s a big issue with slugging in general it’s not just a me problem. The problem starts when you want to run your favorite build that doesn’t require metas like DS Dead Hard, OTR, And Unbreakable. I have to run unbreakble in every match because I hate getting slugged the problem is I don’t want to because I want to run other perks hoping I have smoother games. People like you don’t know how it feels until it happens to you

  • @Elan said:

It got buffed from 20 % to 40 % over last two years, to the point where it's too good for affecting so many status effects.

    Examples:

    1. Haunted ground lasts 60s, survivors with Vigil will suffer exposed only for 36s.
    2. Exhaustion perks with 40s cooldown recharges at 24s.
    3. Mangled and hemmorage with vigil are more effective to wait out.

Tuning it down to 25 % would be fine.

You just want survivors to get nerfed. Maybe question your lack of skills maybe you wouldn’t have to worry about vigil so much. I mean you could just run fearmonger, generic limits, languid touch, etc

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

While not strictly 'offline', having bot killers in custom matches would help a lot.

They're already there in 2v8, so I dunno what they're waiting for. Even if it's in waves, it's better than nothing.

exactly. I just want to go against certain killers that I would like to face that I’m having trouble going against them

Why should I have to run lightborn in every match I’m in just to not get blinded at every pallet break?

Why can’t I loop better to avoid getting blinded and learn how to hit and run and avoid groggy blinded?? Oh wait why can’t chaos shuffle be a permanent mode to where no one has to rely on perks??? ☺️

i like winning so i'll slug for the 4k if i have the opportunity i don't see perks though why aren't you running unbreakable?

Why should I have to run unbreakable in every match I’m in just to feel safe??? That’s the problem with this game I don’t want to keep running meta perks

    Unfair?? Really?

From the 1st screenshot, you and the 4th guy was slugged nearly at the same time, as you can see the slug timer. So I bet you're probably both injured healing each other, and killer just found you, and down you both in 10 seconds. AND you're already giving up by not recovering, which is stupid.

And from the 2nd screenshot, the killer got the 2nd guy just 30s after your first screenshot, so it doesn't take that much time either. Probably found him right after he downed the 4th guy.

The entire process doesn't even take more than 1 minute, and you're already complaining?? God.

If you paid attention to my second screenshot you can see the killer is carrying the last survivor while 2 of us are slugged??? And you want to say I’m complaining when stuff like this happens numerous of times get outta here

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

    This isn't a "slug for the 4k."

Look at the hook stages. You have two survivors on the ground, neither has been hooked. Either or both could have DS. The only survivor left standing is on death hook. We don't have any idea how much progress is on the last two gens.

The smart play is to slug the other two and go for the Lara. Down and hook her, and you win the game. If you start hooking now, then the other survivors can reset and possibly win the game. Not to mention a well-timed DS could do the same. Slugging it out and getting Lara out of the game is the best play and guarantees the win.

This is a more of a clear picture he literally slugged 2 of us just to find the last survivor he greed for a 4k

  • @LordGlint said:

Judging by the bleedout bars and recovery progress, you 2 were barely on the ground for long. If the killer sees multiple ppl that he can down, it makes sense to down them instead of letting one run off while he hooks. The fact that your teammates have been hooked shows he doesn't have some slug build going on and just took advantage of your team's missplays.

    IMG_5853.jpeg

This is a more clear picture. The killer actually slugged 2 people and found the last survivor and it needs to be addressed.

Well they dc because of that…

And because they didn't like the map. And because they didn't like the killer. And because they had a bad first chase, yea that too. Oh and also if their teammate has a bad chase, yea they'll dc over that too.

    1. It has nothing to do with the map
    2. It has nothing to do with not liking which killer it is
    3. It’s because they slugged 2 people and went for the last survivor just to get a 4k which is unfair and dumb

Killer is inherently made to be extremely easy. There is no arguing that whatsoever. You act like every single game is against the 4 best players in the world, when it just isn't. You are on average playing against people of the same skill level, or lower. Every game the average player is the majority. If every game was as you say so survivor sided then the escape rates would be 80% or higher, but it isn't. You are on average playing against "good" players 1/10 games, you aren't playing against comp wannabes bullying you out of the game every single match. And you keep saying "macro" you mean, literal exploits? Oni 180s are an exploit the devs have kept in the game because last time they removed it there was so much backlash that entire side of the community would have imploded, the same thing as "hug" techs, both exploits, it sounds more like the devs are scared of killer players when they try to remove blatantly unfair mechanics they get met with heavy criticism because "its been in the game all this time you can't just patch it!11!!" And you say when the game is 2 taps under 30 seconds its weighted to survivors, its not? Whatsoever? If the chases are ending after 30 seconds every single time, like they do with nurse and blight, then its entirely killer sided. Killer gets map pressure, killer gets free time to do whatever the hell they want. A killer always dictates the game.

    1. Killer isn’t easy by default – While some killers (Nurse, Blight) are strong when mastered, most require multitasking, game sense, and strategy. It’s not a braindead role.
    2. MMR is inconsistent – Matchmaking often puts killers against sweaty SWFs or weak solo queue survivors. Not every game is “equal skill.”
    3. Kill rates above 60% ≠ balance – Low survivor escape rates show the game leans killer-sided, even when survivors play well or use meta perks.
    4. Techs like Oni flicks and Blight hug tech aren’t exploits – They’re high-skill mechanics that add depth and challenge. Calling them “exploits” ignores the skill expression behind them.
    5. Killers don’t fully control the match – Survivors have gen pressure, map rotation, healing, and body-blocking to fight back. It’s not just “killer dictates everything.”
    6. Tunneling and camping are lazy but effective – Killers can win without it, but tunneling is easier and faster. That doesn’t mean it’s needed—it just skips skill expression.
    7. Survivor coordination is rare in solo queue – Most survivor games aren’t full comms teams. SWFs are strong, but they’re the minority in most lobbies.
    8. Survivor meta perks are defensive, not overpowering – Dead Hard, Adrenaline, etc., help survivors survive, not dominate. They exist to compensate for killer pressure.
    9. Killer builds are just as strong or stronger – Killers have extremely oppressive builds (No Way Out, Eruption, Ultimate Weapon) that dominate solo queue with little counterplay.
    10. The real issue is design, not skill – Many killers rely on tunneling or slugging because the game rewards it too easily. The devs need to shift rewards toward fairer, more skillful play.

If this happens im taking a break. I'm so done with these tunneling posts when half of the survivor population doesn't even know what tunneling is. They yell tunneling when theres 1 gen left and killer wants to get a kill and has to hook you twice in a row.

They yell tunneling when they themselfs start bodyblocking you after getting unhooked.

They yell slugger when you down a survivor seeing theres someone next to them with a flashlight or just hovering and you go after that survivor having to slug this other person. They yell slugger while they play boil over, power struggle etc etc sabo builds.

i am so DONE seeing these topics, when half of you would yell tunneler and slugger when it's not actually tunneling and slugging. Can we just agree that when there is few gens left and killer needs to kill it is OK to actually maybe perhaps tunnel a person out to get some pressure. Some survivors actually are ok in this game and not every killer will "easymode" themselfs to victory..

    • Also this wasnt towards you who i quoted on this post btw.. the first line was only for you. ❤️

    SIGH…😰

Agreed like if there’s one gen left I don’t blame killers if they tunnel because u have to apply some type of pressure to secure a kill

Tunneling is a low skill, high reward strategy. You can be a baby killer and still get decent results against experienced survivors doing it. So it always feels like a cheap, undeserved win, because it is. The kill rates are so high now on every single killer, that killers have nothing legitimate to complain about really, it's just nitpicking at this point. Sure, if they stopped tunneling and proxy camping and slugging, kill rates would decrease somewhat, however, they'd still win the majority of their matches playing honorably. The killers with inflated high MMR would lose a bit and go back to mid MMR where they should be. This idea that killers are forced to tunnel is nonsense.

The so-called "low tier" killers nowadays, are basically what used to be an S tier killer in 2016. The new S tier is really an S+++++++ tier killer. It's that easy. Killer mains nowadays are far more entitled than survivors. Survivors are complaining because they lose most of their matches as the stats are showing. Killers complain because their win streaks are broken by survivor teams that are better than them, in spite of winning most of their matches. Remember, all the meta perks that survivors bring is only the survivors' attempt to bring the average escape rate closer to 50%, and it still fails to accomplish this at the highest MMR with a 4 man SWF with comms. So killer mains have moved the goal posts very far over the years, such that they are basically gaslighting survivor mains when they say the game is survivor-sided.

Wraith is not weak in chase. He has very high mobility and can block vaults and pallets. Nor is Oni, who can easily 1 hit down at rapid speed with 180 flicks and then go slug everyone else quickly. Ghost Face can 1 hit down with stealth so he can down people quickly. Pig can use their stealth with perks to 1 hit down you and gets passive pressure with the head traps. Onryo can just abuse a build to get condemned stacks and 1 hit downs. If Onryo were "strong" in chase she would be unbeatable if the killer has any competence. She is very oppressive in the right hands as it is.

I repeat, killers do not need to tunnel to win. Most killer mains don't want to hear this, but it's a skill issue. However, the goal posts have moved so far that they feel entitled to 60%+ kill rates, which by definition, is not "balanced". But killer mains pretend that this unevenness is actually fairly balanced because it benefits their preferred role.

One last thing. While I have played both sides, it's just a myth that you need to play killer role to know that it is OP. The official kill rates and escape rates, plus experience playing survivor, plus watching killer and survivor main streamers, make it obvious that every single killer in the game wins most of their matches on average. Mechanically, even the "hardest" killers in Dead by Daylight are relatively easy to learn, but with a somewhat steeper learning curve than the others. However, the oppressiveness of a character like Nurse or Blight completely makes up for it.

    1. ‘’Tunneling Means You’re a Bad Killer”
Not necessarily. A skilled killer may tunnel as a tactical decision, not out of desperation or lack of skill. For example, if a survivor is on death hook and the gens are nearly done, it’s not unreasonable to prioritize removing them. That’s strategy, not a lack of skill.
    2. “Killers Are Entitled”
This paints with too broad a brush. Most killer players don’t expect a 4k every game—they just want a fair match. When you face strong SWFs with full meta perks, it can feel suffocating on the other end too. The entitlement argument cuts both ways.
    3. “You Don’t Need to Play Killer to Know It’s OP”
You don’t need to be a killer main to comment on balance, but first-hand experience matters. There are many pain points for killers that survivors just don’t see—gen speed, boons, flashlight saves, body blocking, or SWF coordination. Without playing both sides deeply, it’s easy to underestimate the difficulty of killer gameplay.
    4. “Every Killer Wins Most Matches”
That’s just not true across all skill levels and MMRs. Some killers require good pathing, power timing, and perk synergy to win. A low-skill player using Hag or Trickster won’t win consistently against decent survivors. And not everyone is a Blight main with 2,000 hours.

so you agree with tunneling 1 person 3 times sounds like you are part of the problem you guys have plenty of perks to stop gens popping super fast we can only do so much when a killer refuses to chase anyone but 1 person ye we can take hits but they stipp go for 1 person

having gen perks for killers is not enough there’s 4 against 1. You’re going against against 16 perks which equals 4 survivors. Do u think it’s easy to not tunnel when u have survivors bring gen rushing builds and their second chance tunneling perks??

If the survivor has ds he can force it by going into the locker making you just leave or eat it and claiming it needs to be activated in the end game because s-tiers and high a-tiers killers exist isnt good argument, its same as saying killers need basekit corupt and noed because trapoer and skull merchant exist.

That’s not the problem if a survivor purposely go into the locker the killer should already know they have DS and trying to use headon with flashang I think the devs should disable DS if your in a locker in my opinion but either way they should do something with the tunneling

And how would you do that when you slug them and they just start crawling through the gates? While you are powerless and just have to stand there while they and their friends tbag bc their friend is invulnerable. It deactivates at Endgame for a reason.

So what do you want the killer to do in endgame? Do you actually play killer yourself? I’m curious to know how you handle endgame situations where you’re trying to secure an additional kill after the gates are opened

Yes I play killer in P100 onto main I barely had this issue when I used her if I knew a person had DS I’d slugged them before picking them up until their timer runs out. I know how to counter around that. I think killers needs to stop being babied just because they can’t get a kill not to mention you have Kaneki Nurse Blight and Billy who can quicky down u after using DS which is why I think DS should stay activated after all gens done because this has been a issue for a while. I feel like if killer scan have Noed Noway out Bloodwarden or remember me then I feel like why can’t survivors have DS?

Going for someone who just got unhooked in endgame isn’t tunneling. Also, they still get borrowed time for free. I imagine that if you played killer yourself, you probably wouldn’t be so much in favor of what you’re proposing.

    Because it's true statistically.

ChatGPT is a Generative AI Language Model.

If you dont know what that means. ChatGPT only predicts the likelihood of the what word is likely to go next and inserting the most likely result, often relying on resources and information found on the information to train.

If the topic is Dead By Daylight, it will use Dead By Daylight as a source and use it compute the likelihood of each word to generate a response. To put it bluntly, it does not understand what DBD is, it's not trained to, it's just calculating what words fits the best next, which can be subject to bias based on what it uses as a source.

So no… it's not statistically right. It does not even use statistics to come to a solid conclusion, it just uses statistics to predict which words look the nicest on a screen so it can get virtual points that internally reward the AI for doing a thing "correctly".

And BHVR doesnt play their own game and asking AI about it proves it.

    1. BHVR does play their own game. They played against many different content creators to showcase 2v8 and have many times played their game in front of other people. As to rather they are skillful or not is subjective, but they definitely do play their own game.
    2. As mentioned before, asking ChatGPT is nothing to go by.

Dear god is this really what the internet is becoming. Istg if I see another "I used AI to determine (thing)" Im going to lose my mind… "Critical thinking is dead." "@Grok what does this mean?" "Context?" AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH.

If BHVR so much play their own game then why did Chucky get nerfed to the ground??. I’m sure if I asked chatgbt to rework Chucky the right way that he should be I’m sure chatgbt would rework him correctly better than what BHVR could do

If the survivor is completing any interaction of an common variety: chest, generator, totem and any common object then the killer swaps with the interacting survivor will make the killer become the survivor and teleport the survivor to another common object but the camera of the survivor remains on the killer mimicking them until the true survivor stops, fails skill check, completes interaction or the killer stops the interaction then the teleported survivor's cam is swapped back to their true body that has teleported to another object of the same type while the killer takes advantage of your position and appearance to fool other nearby survivors even if they're in an survive with friends (swf) since it'll already be too late before they realize it isn't their friend no more. The killer loses the survivor appearance once they engage with other survivors in a lethal manner. The killer can still swap with survivors not interacting with anything but won't obtain their appearance to act as a chase power benefit unless otherwise desired by the devs want the killer to obtain survivor appearance at any time.

I love this idea I think I made a post about this once about a shapeshifter killer who can become a survivor and trick survivors into thinking they are one of them but they are not
