Oh? But I thought you had more hours than me and you have Legacy and you played the Alpha and you were a game tester.
My mistake, of course. I must have imagined you saying that. Despite your bad attempt at insulting me, I am here because I care about the game, same as you. People seem to agree with my takes, since I have ~10K upvotes.
It's 2+ years for Survivor and about a month shy of 2+ years for Killer.
Just because I rustled enough jimmies that I have people stay to upvote everyone that disagrees with me doesn't really validate your opinion.
This isnt my account. I was a game tester

Indeed. I apologize for rounding up two months on Killer.
I did hit Survivor Rank 1 for the first time in March of 2019, though I am not sure of the exact date. I may have a screenshot on Xbox, though I do not remember.
In fact, that little thread sort of disproves your ENTIRE argument. I first played Dead By Daylight in May or June of 2018. Played very on and off, maybe once a week up til October, when I quit. My friend convinced me to come back to the game in December, and I stuck with it. At that point in time that I hit Rank 1 Survivor, I had maybe 50 hours in the game. By your logic, my opinion should matter the same as someone's who has played for 5000 hours and is Rank 1, surely that isn't what you wanted is it?
Quite honestly, you are quite pathetic in your attempts to play this game with me. You cannot win this argument. You have a bad idea, own up to it and try to make a better idea.
This community is hilariously divided, everyone has said this is a bad idea. Take a hint and get over your massive ego. You remind me of me when I was younger and that ISN'T a good thing.
There is a huge difference between 2+ years to almost 2 years. also TLDR

I see, of course it isn't. I'm sure your father works at Behavior and is going to ban my account tomorrow as well, isn't he? Even if you are telling the truth about this not being your account, that still raises the question as to why you are so scared to use your own. Were you banned? That would be likely, I think.
I actually did not look through the account. I remember you from your first post in the latter half of October last year, I commented on it and had a brief interaction with you, if I recall correctly.
So far as I remember, your speech patterns are mostly the same, as is your aggressive behavior towards those who disagree with you.
You have no argument. You merely wish to silence people you disagree with. It is quite clear to me, and to everyone else who has stopped in on this small thread. I'm sure you've noticed how you have ZERO upvotes on your post.
Perhaps you should put some more time into the game, and work on being more accepting of differing opinions. New players have valid opinions that matter just as much as yours or mine or Tru3 or Otz.
This is your post from the "rank 1 killer" thread
"I started the game in November of 2018 and I think I hit Rank 1 for the first time in May of 2019 on Killer. I hit Rank 1 Survivor in July of 2019.
Realistically, I am a Rank 1 Killer but my Survivor Rank is probably closer to Rank 7 than to Rank 1."
But earlier in this thread you said "I've been Rank 1 on both sides for 2+ years and have close to 1000+ hours on either side".
Thanks to my friends post earlier I have managed to deafeat your whole web of lies. Now I am ready for the next persons image I can shatter. Also I dont have an account on the fourm.

Prove it.
It is interesting that despite being so involved with the game since it's infancy, that you only decided to make an account on the Forums in October. Additionally, it is fascinating that you ask for help on things that many new players would be asking about. Such as, "How long did it take you to get to Rank 1", "Why is this game so toxic" and "I'm just trying to get to Rank 1 as Survivor and get all the achievements."
Seems to me, either you haven't played the game since Alpha and you weren't one of the game testers or you were and stopped playing until just recently. Because if you have been playing since Alpha, you would know the answers to the questions you asked. I find it very difficult to believe you never hit Rank 1 in the, what, 5+ years since then either. You are either the exact type of player your system wishes to exclude or a liar.
Either way, my point is proven.
Do not challenge me to this argument, you will lose. It is better to admit one's mistakes than to continue to dig a hole of lies.
This isnt my account though. Im still waiting for you to prove your part though. Plus for you to look into my friends account like that just proves how rent free I am in your head right now

If you actually paid attention, you'd see that I play both Survivor and Killer, but since you lack the mental capacity for critical thinking, I'll give you a quick rundown.
I've been Rank 1 on both sides for 2+ years and have close to 1000+ hours on either side. I've watched tournaments, guides, streamers and friends play the game. I've been on these forums for a almost 2 years and have been lurking here for longer. It's quite likely that, by your own system, my opinion outranks yours.
The only person getting exposed here is you, since your idea was rejected by pretty much everyone, you decided to start attacking people.
See this is where your assumption is wrong. I have all skins and p3 on every character as well as legacy. I have been playing since alpha and actually was one of the game testers before it was released. So really, my opinion out ranks yours. Now when you can back up your claims I will happily back up mine.

A: Pretty sure if you camp your heart out and all the survivors spend the match trying to pluck their buddy out from under you, you're gonna rank up.
B: Pretty much every game that does this also ends up detested by its own community. The playerbase isn't 'the top 1%'. The game can either be competitive or fun, it can -never- be both.
And yeah, ranks mean nothing, especially as survivor, since your grade is directly impacted by your teammates. You'll pip for just holding M1 on gens while someone else does all the hard work, you'll depip for going for a safe unhook and having some potato sprint burst in from the other side of the map with killer in tow and making a dumb, unsafe unhook, leaving you holding the bag.
A. Wrong, I get a 4k pretty much every game I camp as bubba and you cant get past rank 8 if you camp. I tested this I have been doing it all week.
B. Kinda like how DBD is detested by its own community?
You're forgetting everything in between. No you cant just hold M1 on a gen and get rank 1. You have to know when to get off and hide or the killer will down you. If the killer is good you he wont keep getting looped and he will contest gens so the person luring him away wont work. If someone does a dangerous unhook they usually have BT and if they dont you can always use DS, thats what perks are for so use them.

What? You've completely missed my point that it blows my mind.
Where do I sound salty?
And as a rank 4 survivor and rank 6 killer, I don't classify myself as "better" than say a rank 6 and a 9 just because my "numbers" are higher.
I may still make mistakes that a rank 6 may not make.
All my rank says is that I am more prone to finishing actual objectives. That's not "skill".
You need to calm yourself before you talk.
Yeah you're mad but its okay I wont hold it over you.
a rank 4 is practically the same as a rank 6 but a rank 4 has a lot more skill than a rank 12.

@Kolossoni said:
Oh grow up will you?
Just because you can out loop a killer doesn't make you "good" nor vice versa.
Ranks go up based on OBJECTIVES i.e. doing/breaking gens, hooking/unhooking survivors, looping and etc.
If you do 2/3 you'll gain a pip which you need to rank up.
What don't you understand about the basic fundamentals of this game?
What you want is MMR, a skill-based/calculated system that differentiates players' proficiency at playing.
Looks like you don't know what you are talking about 😂
Yes a survivor that can mind game a killer and loop them for minutes is much better than a survivor that gets downed instantly. You are obviously the type of survivor that just gets downed hence why you are so salty.

Minor flaws? I can loop a killer for 3 gens and depip or kill my entire team doing bones and holding W to victory.
Holding W wont get you a win. you would run straight into a wall and the killer will just down you? oh but wait there is skill when it comes to moving around the map you just don't want to admit that because that would mean I'm right.
-
@ClownIsUnderrated said:
Ranks don't equal anything to skill, it just means you decided to invest your time into this game and decided you want to make it to red ranks. That was my goal at first, but since that was two years ago being a red ranks don't mean anything. Being rank 1 on survivor and killer doesn't really mean anything, and ranks won't mean anything until we have the rank rewards once MMR officially comes out.
What is this meme that ranks dont mean anything? Anyone that says that instantly has their whole opinion discarded seeing that they think a killer going against rank 20's will be equal going against rank 1's. Its a dumb meme and anyone that actually thinks rank means absolutely nothing are dumb. If you're a natural rank 1 killer you wont be able to change that unless you purposely derank. When I was rank 1 I stayed rank 1 until I wanted to lose pips and I would afk to do that. if you cant stay at rank 1 when you play the game maybe you're not meant to be rank 1...

"Mastered"
This game has too much jank for anyone to be a true master at it. And a newbie player's opinions come from the merit of their statement, not from how long they've played. A new player has the potential to provide insight that others don't see. And like others have said, there's literally no reason to further divide this fandom even more. Killer mains vs. Survivor mains is already annoying enough; we don't need Red Killers vs. Green Killers vs. Purple Survivors vs. Yellow Survivors (etc..).
Yeah so all players are equal and no one is better than each other.. are you on the right forums? No a newbie players opinion has nothing to do with rank 1 gameplay, not now not ever. Under no circumstance should a rank 17 killer that has had the game for less than a week, have an equal say to a rank 1 killer that studies the patch notes each update to keep ahead. The only people that argue about meritocracy are the people that will be left at the bottom.
-
@Mysterynovus said:

Rank is hardly relevant to a person's take on the game.
Of course it is. Why should a new player that doesn't understand the whole game yet have an equal say to someone that has mastered the game and knows what they are talking about?
-
@th3 said:
This would only cause more strife and elitism in the community. It's already irritating enough with the "you don't play <insert role here> so why are you talking" people.
Yeah thats the point of meritocracy. The better players should have a higher value opinion on gameplay seeing that they are.. high rank
-
@MadLordJack said:
What about a green rank survivor that couldn't be bothered cheesing back to rank 1 after the depip fiasco? Or a red rank killer that's constantly hovering around rank 1 because it's easy to rank up as two of their mains?
Rank is not a measure of skill. If it was, I'd be somewhere around rank 5 as both. As would almost everyone else.
You're implying that green rank person is going to be green rank forever? You said you need cheese tactics to reach rank 1? maybe you shouldn't be rank 1 if you need to cheese your way there. Every rank system has its minor flaws but id prefer to know I'm reading the opinion of someone that plays the game high rank rather than low rank which doesn't effect me at all. Rank is a measure of skill though.. I can guarantee if I verse a group of 1's and then a group of 20's there is a huge gameplay difference.
-
Scared of being exposed?
-
Its better than nothing. Also replace Ranks with MMR in a month anyway which hopefully will be more accurate.

TLDR: Trues video saved me having to explain it and he did it better than I could over these forums but obviously you have already made up your mind about Huurrr Durrr no spirit counter play and you can keep thinking that while other players learn her counter and win consistently against her while you ######### on hook. Oh I have an argument I just don't feel like spending hours trying to get the point across to you when you have already made up your mind. Linking True's video saves me a ton of time and he even did it in paint so you can understand it but if you want to believe spirit has no counter play then keep crying while other players learn how to counter her and beat her consistently while you ######### on hook. Or like I said play her at red ranks and see how consistent you get 4k's but obviously you wont do that

If you can't form your own proper arguments with valid points, then why bother commenting?
I did watch a few minutes of the video, but I eventually stopped since it was simply untrue. What Tru3 is telling us to do is bait the Spirit. This can work sometimes, but a good spirit will look out for that and catch on, even if you mix it up. Even if you don't get hit, you are just lucky because the Spirit messed up. Bad spirit players are the reason people think spirit has counterplay.
If you drop the pallet on the other side and slow vault (a very common strategy), then you are just going to assume that the spirit will go around. That is guessing if she will phase over there or not.
Like I said, counterplay is something you can react to. When a spirit stands still, you don't know if she is phasing or not, so you take a guess and hope it works out which is not counterplay. You can try predicting her, but a good spirit will make sure that she still ends up hitting you. No matter what you do as a survivor, you make sound even with iron will, so any spirit with good hearing will catch you.When she starts to phase, you have zero way of telling if she is phasing or standing still.
In essence, there is no real counterplay against spirit.
Yikes maybe dbd isnt for you then...

I.... I am a killer who plays in red ranks as well... I play this game very 50/50....
I already mentioned how the Spirit has no real counterplay, so I am just going to copy and paste that comment here.
"There is no real counterplay to spirit because there is nothing to react to. Counterplay is playing against what your opponent is doing, but spirit gives no information to the survivor when she is phasing so you have nothing to react to. All you are doing is guessing. if she phases around a pallet you can run to the other side, drop it, and maybe stun her, but that is just guessing."

Red rank survivor. Try playing killer in red ranks like I do and you quickly learn all the counters to each killer and therefore improve your survivor gameplay ever further. its a shame after 2000 hours you haven't learnt how to counter play spirit though.

I was drawn to him because he is the Godfather of the entire slasher genre, and thus the patron saint of this game. I'm a huge fan of the original movie, and so when I decided to play DbD, I knew I was going to stick with him until I got him to Rank-1. I also picked him because he is listed as "Hard" because he does have a learning curve. It isn't as steep at the Nurse, but it ain't easy. I figure if I can get to Rank-1 with him, then the Killers I learn next should come easier. In regards to his playstyle:
- I love Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo). I like mind games and working the jump scares. Naturally it is more effective on the smaller, indoor maps, but I've played him so much in this build now I've been able to get consistent wins on larger maps.
- I enjoy Maniac Myers (Any Build which can hit Tier-3) because of the options. Right now, I'm experimenting with the Dead Rabbit+Hair Bow along with the Perks Undying, Ruin, Monitor & Abuse, & Iron Maiden. Most people start jumping in Lockers to let a Maniac Myers run out the Insta-Down clock. Thus, when they come out I get a notification and some more Insta-down as a nasty surprise. The Dead Rabbit and Monitor & Abuse give me a zero terror radius even in Tier-2 when not in a chase. *Sometimes I throw in a Fragrant Tuft of Hair but when I do I don't bother with the Iron Maiden and replace it with Thrill of the Hunt.
I guess what I like most about him is that you can drastically alter how he plays. His add-on(s) don't just make him better at what he does, they completely rework him. That interests me.
Aha similar to me, only reason I got into this game so much was because of the killers I love. Myers was my first prestige killer.

Well, I can't claim to be an savant like the "Butcher" in this thread, but I've managed to get my Myers to Rank-4 on the cusp of Rank-3 in one and 2/3's of a month. I'm driving to reach Rank-1 by Halloween. I probably won't make it, and if I do it will be by the skin of my teeth. I play fairly often and I'm a pretty determined guy. There are easier Killers to Rank with, however, so I might not be the best one to judge the timing by.
Nice Myers is a favorite of mine but at Rank 1 I'm just not viable with him as I can't get 4k's as often as I like with him. What about his play style draws you to him?
