  • Hey guys! It looks like I've finished the research paper. If you are interested to read it, please send me your e-mail.

  • Did you find errors in the game-related questions or in the personality questions? Personality questions were copy-pasted from the official papers.

  • Thank you pal! I'm definitely gonna notify you here when I'm all set with things. After that you can send me your e-mails, I'm going to forward the research paper in PDF format for those who are eager to read it! :D

  • I'm open to sharing my research when everything is finished. I'm still doing the data gathering and the theoretical background, but yeah as soon as I finish with everything I'll send it to those who want to read it

  • I'm gonna go ahead and state that Jeff is one of my mains! I really like him, his style, his beard, his lore, his perks (Aftercare is one of my most used perks btw) etc.. He is really underrated IMO (Even if we are talking about the devs, I feel like he is neglected... HE NEEDS A RIFT SKIN FFS!!) It is true that he is loud, but hey, maybe use Iron will? :D It is a really great perk generally and it can fit in any builds. Feng is loud as well, but 80% of the community play as her...

Adam is cool, I like some cosmetics of his, his perks are also great. I don't have an issue with him, I'm just not playing him because I love others more.

It's a bug with DS, fix next tuesday.

    Amazing, thanks for the info!

  • I'm going to write only the perks.

I used to do art and I was studying it in elementary and middle school. I was really focused on that stuff back then, but time passed and I have changed, now I'm currently studying psychology, with a different interests, so I'm going to write 6 perks: 3 according to my artist past and 3 for present, I will divide them, so you can differentiate between the perks. Let me know which one you like better. :)

🈯️ Advance planning: You are aware of the opportunities you have and you can make the best out of bad things. If the killer hooks someone while you are in the killer's terror radius, all damaged generator's regression is stopped for 20/25/30 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 90 seconds.

🈳 Rework: After you successfully blind or stun the killer with a pallet, your scratch marks will be shown the opposite way you go for 4/5/6 seconds. "One of the best thing in art is that you can erase some elements, reimagine it, and create something bigger."

🈳 Artistic inspiration: Sometimes an outer stimulus can boost you and give you ideas to help achieve your goals. If the killer is damaging a generator or breaking a pallet outer than 50/45/40 meters of your current location, then your current progress on repairing, healing, cleansing and sabotaging are increased with 18% for 8/10/12 seconds

🈯️ Social influence: When successfully escaping the killer from a chase that lasted at least 20 seconds you see your teammates aura for 6/8/10 seconds, your teammates see the killer's aura for 3/4/5 seconds (When the perk activates, it triggers a unique noise notification for them and for you too.)

🈳 Emotional support: If you take a protection hit, all nearby survivors get a 7% haste effect for 8/10/12 seconds, if you take a protection hit while the killer is carrying someone, the teammate's wiggle progress gets an additional +10/12/14% of it's current progress, you get the deep wound effect. This perk has a cooldown of 50/45/40 seconds.

🈳 Analyze: Everytime you find a solution for a problem, it helps you make the next step in your work. When unhooking a survivor, you gain a token up to 3.

1 token: A great skill check is granted the next time.

2 tokens: Prevents notification to the killer if you miss two skill checks.

3 tokens: Everytime you hit a great skill check while repairing, the progress speed is increased with 2/3/4%, but if you miss the skill check, it sets back to normal progress speed. The progression boost only attached to the generator you were working on. If you switch generator it sets back.

If you get another token, the previous effect disappears. If the killer puts you in the dying state (Or hooks you(?) can't deciede it), you lose all the tokens.

I think its really underpowered at the moment, and i think its a great idea if for example you can see the killer when he is in a 5 meter radius of any gen within 24 meters, or something like that

Seeing if somebody explodes a gen isnt really usefull.

That’s another approach and also good! Well, yea the explosion thing is not a game changer, but a small detail which doesnt hurt anyone. Its situational

You can be chill and disgusted at the same time. Admittedly I was taking every complaint I have seen into account when I posted that, which isnt fair, but at the same time... Screw this community. People call things worthless because they are worthless to them - that really is the definition of selfish.

You are talking on an individual level, but what I’m saying is it’s not a one person problem. Think about it like democracy. Most of the people have a problem, so it is sentenced and they want a change, and this is the same case with a different wrapping around it. I admit the community is not the best but saying “screw everyone” doesn’t make you the best person out of the whole.

and still. This is just an innocent discussion about the perk, i dont want to involve more into it :)

  • @MadLordJack said:

The perk is fine. I'm getting a little tired of the selfish comments about its use - it isn't for you. Nor is Zanshin Tactics, nor is Windows of Opportunity. It is a training perk and should be treated as such. Is is stupid that it's coming out on a DLC character? Yes, but they all are on DLC characters. Just because they are worthless to you doesn't make them worthless.

You are the first one I see, who says it is fine. It's not about being selfish, I know Dead by Daylight is not meant to be for one person only. It is a huge game with a huge community and the majority has spoken, even the popular streamers said Visionary is completely useless. I'm just only making some ideas how it would be a better and more used perk, coming up with ideas is not forbidden as far as I know. If this makes you mad, I'm sorry take a chill pill and avoid discussions like this ;)

I'd be into that. Can't see myself using it much but it's much more appealing.

Right? I was thinking about this since it came out, but i was not quite sure if it would make sense u know

  • It's a recent bug, you can also get stucked in the Macmillan estate too and there are 1-2 maps which has the same feature, hopefully it will get eliminated soon, until then, avoid rocks :D

  • I play survivor most of the time, rarely killer.

Jeff is the no. 1, but I like Bill, Nancy and Dwight too.

    For killer, I play Ghostface.

Ive never participated in the PTB but just kinda wanted to add my input. As a person with mental issues and disabilities I don't think it's fair you label these people as having "mental issues". I'm not mad or offended, and obviously they have some kind of problem, but just wanted to point it out.

Otherwise, you see it all the time in the main game as well. I think it's worse on PC,but that's just from my short experience. I also got tons of these kind of comments and messages on Xbox playing any game. PS4 isn't really known for that type of thing...so I was really surprised when I started seeing it...only when playing DBD. I will never respond. I'm not going to use my disabilities as a shield, and there's really nothing else I could say to make them feel bad.

I even turned off the messenger thing. Just made it so people can't send a message unless they are my friend. Then they actually went around it by sending a friend request because you can attach a short message. Like come on. I try to play fair. Sometimes it doesn't even matter. You get accused and accosted for things you don't even do. And regardless, there's no excuse for that behavior.

It shouldn't matter how you are playing. There's no need to threaten someone or say something horrible like that over a game. There's just not. Ive even had two people say racist things (I'm not even the race my screen names seem to make people think I am). You want to get mad and say someone played bad or unfair, whatever. To say you are going to find someone's family? No excuse man. None.

I don't think many in the community would be cool with someone that does that. You did the right thing reporting it. I can't speak for the devs, but I'd assume they'd take something like that pretty seriously. If someone said it to your face that's a criminal offense. Honestly in some places it might already be just typing it. The rules include Threats and Hate Speech as bannable offenses. I've only been threatened once, and I didn't report it. I probably should have. If not for my sake, then for the next person that might have been more afraid.

You are right about the labeling, it makes me feel uncomfortable because I mentioned it in a wrong way (I'm a psychology student so I must correct this). About mental illnesses I meant issues which are not treated in a right way or at all, those have a high impact on other people like the example. Many other sensitive players' anxiety, depression, feeling of inferiority could be increased because of constant verbal harrassment. I'm really glad you got my message and responded fairly!

I'm so sorry someone went out of their way to message you with such graphic terror inducing content, no one deserves to experience that kind of fear just because they outplayed someone on a video game. It makes me sick to think how people will go out of their way just to spite others for their own satisfaction.

Unfortunately with dead by daylight and many other video game communities, you will have toxic negative people frequently messaging you hateful comments because they just can't control their anger. For example I was recently on rocket league, I scored a goal and an opposing team player yelled at me over voice chat with quite disgusting vulgar language. It's pathetic how people get angry over a loss, I think you'd need the mentality of a 12 year old to get salty over that. Some people fail to understand that A. the game is not to be taken seriously and B. the game will not always win in your favour. You win some you lose some.

Thanks for the kind words, really appriciate it, but its nothing, really :)

And I also share your thoughts. They are unmature in their head, that's a trait which all of them have in common.

I feel bad for you. I suggest just saying gg and leaving. Don't let those idiots get to your head. I can't go into the ptb because I am on console. Side note: I think the word you are looking for is disrespectful, not unrespectful.

Its okay, I don't feel attacked, frightened or anything, it's just so annoying there is no opportunity to take action against this (Only blocking the person)

And thank you, edited it :)

"because the beta doesn't have any meaningful consequences on future results in stats etc."

Really it doesnt matter if its on the PTB or if its live...theres no excuse for sayin ######### like that. This is a videogame and theres no stakes high enough to excuse that. I dont care if 5 bloody party streamers gets used on live, just for the killer your against to be a facecamping Bubba... It might suck but you dont get to be throwing out deaththreats and #########.

It would be so awesome if every single DBD (or any game, really...) player have that viewpoint. All of the players who use abusive language can't realize the outcome of any match won't influence them in real life (Just their temper tbh). It's like they are not aware of their actions, but I'm sure many of them have serious mental illnesses too. Unfortunetaly, nobody can change the fact that cracked (or ill) people will continue to poison the community.

  • @BlueFang said:

This game's playerbase has a really toxic and loud-mouthed minority. Whatever their reasons for entering the PTB because they like the content, are meta slaves prospecting for something new, there to bully the new survivor/killer with their fully decked out characters, or are just naturally uber strung up all the time

They didn't get their way. You stopped him from killing you and allowing him to revel in "haha, noob survivor/killers bet they'll cry because of us getting a fair shot" add on to that rationale with any other tangent and its a pretty close painting towards the mindsets of these people

It ultimately didn't matter if he won or lost he still would have trash talked and been a weird little grease monkey. The only response to these people is a GG and have a good day. Don't feed the troll or get dragged in no matter how obnoxious they are, ignoring them hurts them so much more than any words

You are totally right about the appropriate answer reaction, that's 100% what I do, or no answer at all and just leave. I was wondering if the devs can make a chat inhibition for those players who have reached a random number of reports regarding hateful speech which can be similar to the DC penetration.
