  • Rank 20-14 pressing A

    Rank 13-1 -> skill checks

if the survivor struggling is in the killer terror radio then no skill check or A should be "out"/pressed

  • is it? hmmmmmmmmmmmm.. i think someone might have a crush here

  • The pig is cute. I want to hug him sometimes, with urban evasion perk you can follow pig from behind all the time and he won't even notice it

  • Well, thank you all for the feedback. I will think on a better way ^^ cheers

Just bring a medkit or search for one, there are other perks that can help you with that. Or ask your teammates to heal you. The game already offers a variety of ways to heal yourself up, and Self Care is not even that common now, people are leaning towards other "meta" perks.

Self Care is somewhat decent when paired up with Botany Knowledge, but that's 2 perks you're occupying just for the heals, so it may be a better option to just run Botany with a good medkit.

As a final note, you may not need to heal at all with some specific killers, or at least it wouldn't be very efficient to do so. Healing is important, yes, but it's not something that demands you to have Self Care in your loadout to do the job.

Yes. Everybody who says something here demands me to bring a medkit. I don't want to, i prefer flashlights, maps or keys. In the other hand i'm stuck with the need to find a player near me or use this s** perk. I don't want any of these options. I want the ability to heal myself without the perk. ( i dont care about the speed, since i would get less hits if i could use different perks) Because why not allow it? The 15% is a way to not kill the self-care perk. The same way that Self-Care is already lowed because of the other possibilities. Otherwise, if self-care is already at 100% normal healing speed than nobody would waste time to find their buddies, because it's all the same.

If DBD allowed today people to self healing would it make a big difference? Would people reject others to heal them? 99,9% would not ( i believe). But for me (and probably for other players) this option could be usefull sometimes

I'm not a new player. I've been playing for over three years.

The game is all about speed. It's not about making the game end as quickly as possible, it's about beating your opponent to your objective. As a killer, you have until the survivors escape to find and kill all of them. As a survivor, you have however long it takes the killer to track down and kill you and all your teammates to power the generators and escape. An early head start can be the difference between victory and defeat. It's a race, whatever side you're on.

Healing yourself over a period of 107 seconds is hugely inefficient. You could do a generator in that time, or find a teammate who could heal you in 16. Time management is at the core of success in this game - not minimising how long the match takes necessarily, but knowing what is appropriate to spend your time on and when. And unless the killer is either afk or otherwise poses no threat whatsoever, there is never an appropriate time to spend over a minute and a half healing yourself.

You are right about the speed, but I'm not saying to delete the ability to be healed by other players, and i'm not denying the use of med-kit. I'm just asking to make it possible to allow the player to heal himself without the use of a perk, wasting unecessary slot for it. That slot that i could be using one more usefull perk.

  • Boss

I know, but the game are forcing you guys to pick med-kits. If i want to use a toolbox or a flashlight i would need the perk to heal myself, if i never want to use a med-kit (because i don't feel comfortable with it) than i must have this perk or 2 others to find someone running around the map. Considering that i dont have friends to play with, i always play solo and i won't run (ocasionally) all over the map to find someone and, sometimes, people miss skillchecks ( i never miss in normal circumstances, so i prefer myself to do the job).

It's super easy to find and to buy a medkit, it's "easy" to call your friends or to find other survivors to heal you with unique perks. But, i'm not allowed to heal myself, because that would be what? slow? so the game wants me to RUSH?. The thing is, developers tries so hard to fill up this useless void, by creating more useless perks, like boost medkits (unbalacing the game) and perks like (destroy a totem and auto heal inside a closet) that are just s*. Give the option to auto medicate without the use of perks or kits, why not?

If you say i need to use bond. Than the game stucks me with a priori build, just because it wont let me heal myself. For exemple: "To not heal youserlf use 2 other perks to get around". If you want to use the medkit, ok Good for you. But i like to use flashlights and i wish that i could use more random perks, but i can just use 3 random perks (and 3 perks dont get the combo i was hopping for), because the 4th one i must save it for self care or use a boring medkit, that i personally dont like it.

In my country we say: "está engessado" - The perks are plasted, to ordinary builds.

    @Fibijean said:

Self-Care is arguably not even one of the best perks anymore. The speed makes it not really worth bothering with. I know that when you have it in your loadout it feels like you couldn't possibly live without it, but you actually don't need it as much as you think you do. Being injured or finding a teammate to heal you is not the worst thing. Try experimenting with other good substitutes like Adrenaline or Plunderer's Instinct in that slot, or even switch it out for Resilience and take advantage of the fact that you won't always be at full health.

Also, newer survivors already think that they have to be at full health all the time. Allowing them a passive ability to heal themselves at an agonisingly slow pace would encourage very bad habits, like spending two minutes in a corner healing themselves when they should be doing generators or rescuing teammates. The fact that people use Self-Care in those situations is already bad enough.

Also Fibjiean, the game it's not about speed. If i'm injured i would go save the other survivor, but if i see the killer camping around, i would prefer to heal myself then go after the survivor.

The problem with new players is about speed. The game must end in 3 and half minutes otherwise the game is a joke. I already played a lot, probably as much as you have, and in all my games the most fun ones was those who took 10-15 minutes.

All the other ones are not used because they're ######### though. Without a passive effect, they're near useless. You have to walk 90% of the time with Sprint Burst, Dead Hard is only good in EXTREMELY rare situations, and Lithe has enough maps where it's just bad to bring. Play one map with Lithe on the Game map and you'll never bring it again.

If you ask me, Balanced Landing doesn't need to remove the stagger reduction, the other exhaustion perks need to have a passive effect as well to put them in line with Balanced Landing.

Balanced Landing will be useless if this is changed, not to mention it's called BALANCED LANDING, why would it be called that if you didn't have a balanced landing all the time? It should be changed to "Occasionally Balanced Landing" if they change that.

Dude! be careful with the logic system, people here doesn't understand logic.

ps: Allow the survivor to heal himself with 15% of the speed. There's no need for a perk, if there is make it 70% of the speed. But allow the survivor to heal himself, or make room for 5 perks

  • @bendermac said:

We can pretty much agree this perk is way too good. I've no problem with the speed boost and 75% reduction of stagger. But this should only work if you're not exhausted. This would make the perk more in line with the other exhaustion perks. They don't give you any benefits when you're exhausted and so should it be for Balanced Landing.

Ability: You carry around 3 Chucky dolls on his back, they can be placed on generators, pallets, vault spots, and in closets. If a survivor drops the pallet or vaults the window the Chucky doll chases them for 10 seconds, if it catches up it injuries or if already in the injured state they get placed into dying state. But if a survivor enters the closet with Chucky in it, it instantly attacks them and doesn’t have to chase them around. If a survivor works on a generator with Chucky on it, the Chucky doll messes with the survivor and constantly breaks it, but if a survivor works on it and leaves the doll chases them around for 10 seconds.

The killer isn’t Chucky himself, but Charles Lee Ray, he is the carrier of the dolls and the one who originally possessed the Chucky doll. The weapon is the toy knife he uses in the movies. The customization outfit is the dolls, the knife, and the whole Charles Lee Ray character. A possibility for different dolls is the Bride of Chucky or Tiffany, or The Seed of Chucky a.k.a. Glenda. A different outfit for Charles is a spirit version of him or ghost version.

Chucky’s 3 unique perks: First one is Knife Play. When damaging a generator above 70% you gain a 5% quicker cool-down on your weapon after attacking a survivor with a basic attack. It can stack up to a total of 15%

Second perk is Doll Face. When hooking a survivor in the basement every other survivor suffer the Exposed status for 30 seconds. This can only be activated once every 45 seconds.

Third perk is Let's Have Fun. You become obsessed with one survivor. If the survivor dies first, the rest of the survivors healing, repairing, sabotaging, and gate opening time is decreased by 35%.

If possible the map you could get is the military camp from Child’s Play 3, it could have some interactive parts here and there and the hooks for fun could all be made out of melted toys, because Chucky is the dominant toy.

The map offering could be a rusted toy gun. Some add-ons for Chucky could be an extra doll, or if a survivor gets hit by a doll they suffer the Hemorrhage, Blindness, or Exhausted status. But for the best add-ons is you have one less doll, but the other one can put a survivor into the dying state in one hit.

Perks are horrible bad balanced. The devs are working hard to avoid tunnel and camping, so killing your obsession would bring the old problem back, plus 35 % is a huge delay.

The idea of the killer is better than just to be a doll. You clearly are a fan of Chuck. Nice

The idea on the chuck dolls on top of some gens would be bad, the survivors could just avoid that gen and if the killer understand this, they will begin to avoid it, camping the other generators making it really hard 4 the survivors, since the other gens are easier to keep the round when there are some offs, just like the plague perk's but that is a limit of 90 seconds so.

The chucky doll would need a A.I. (artificial intelligence) i have already suggest that (not on chuck) all of the devs give a crap about it. A.I. is hard to make, and it strongly depends on players abilities (remember that there are 4 players on the map) an A.I. too strong would unbalance the team in seconds, too weak would make the killer the old fredy, since there's a huge difference between a rank 1-5 to a rank 12-15 etc etc

If the killer can't use chucky than the killer is not chucky. But chucky cant be used since he is too small, unless you take off all the grass.

Exactly the game is based on the generator time. Move it down or up would need a re-balance in all the game, that takes time. Time that could be spent on better things. Like fire extinguishers... hehe

If the survivor want to rush, bring a hell of a toolbox

Lol if they gen tap it goes even slower than not gen tapping. Gen tapping goes 50% slower while if you stayed on it it would be 70% - 80% slower

Gen tapping is terrible, but useful if the killer is camping directly to your direction and he has ruin. (that means your skill check won't stop spamming, but you don't care because u are GT). Plus if you are a rookie gen tapping against doctor or ruin is better then explode the gen, and to the gen tapping gets more productive you need to find a place where the killer doesn't do his rounds often, like avoiding facing to the middle of the map, that means you probably slowed the difference from 70 % - 80 % to 20 - 25 % (like you said)

  • @RainbowPatooie said:

"The gen on fire, for the first time, will automatically stop the fire after 1 minute, the second time it happens, the survivor will have 1 minute to bring a fire extinguisher and fix it, otherwise this gen will be lost for all the match."

Imagine having the last 3 gens stuck on fire.

Well imagine that, what a caos. Also, i did not mention it to not make it too confusing but you could as well use the fire extinguisher to stop the first fire, but if you don't it won't explode. Unless it's not the first time the gen was on fire

I’d suggest maybe, when a generator is kicked random parts are spread around the map and the survivors have to find one before being able to repair it again and it could only happen once.

    that sounds funny

  • @8obot1c said:

if every generator was out by a fire than the survivors couldn't escape

What about, 2 of the 7 gens would start with a "malfunction design" that could start a fire?

  • @MJ_Out said:

Gen on fire: No, because the 3-Gen-Strategy is already really strong and with "Gen on fire" it would be nearly impossible for survs.

Heal yourself: No, to be dependent on other teammates if u are injured is a important gameplay element. With this change medkits would be to strong because don't need other team mates anymore most of the time.

Adrenaline: Logic isn't a valid element for a good gameplay mechanic.

The last one: Is this bait or somthing?

What is this 3 gen strategy? (excuse my ignorance) . I understand this could make it harder, but isn't strange that all survivors are engineers with PHD?

Heal yourself: You don't use morel perk's? (Self-care) I use it always, and everybody who doesn't use it, i consider (he/she) as a newbie. That doesn't at all make the game less group team, in fact the gen thing would require a better communication with the other survivors. I prefer to heal myself solo because of two reasons: 1. Is not always that i can find a survivor near me. (I have to use bond because i didn't care about the self-care perk) 2. I do not make mistakes with skillcheck 3. I don't want to my team mate waste time on me.

    3. Logic isn't good for the game? this game is completely irrational? I suppose the developers think hard and invest in a good math to create the mechanics. Adrenaline fix would be an obviously pack.

4.I would suggest something else, but me As a Player i don't want the game more polluted with things on the map. But no this is not a click bait. (considering that i want a fire extinguisher near by each gen)

    -----------------------------------------

    @8obot1c said:

if every generator was out by a fire than the survivors couldn't escape

Yes, but whose fault is that? Gen on fire won't be a common thing, is not that hard to get a skill check, plus the fire extinguishers should be placed near each gen. What do you suggest? If this option would be, officially, proposed by the DBD team? A limit by how many gens can get fired? Like, the only explanation i can think of is... " In every map, 2 of the 7* gens would have a malfunction design (by fabric)" That would explain why only 2 can get on fire. Maybe this gen "new" thing should be only allowed after reach rank 13

My idea is to get the game more fun + more challenge (inside the game), since i play this game for a long time, i'm too used to things, i would be happy with that possibility. Also i'm worried about the balance, making things too easy for the killer and too complex for the survivors = Too boring for the killer => too hard for the survivors.

I hope more people can help me develop this idea (like real feedback)

It may seem simple, but it's actually a huge amount of work. We would need to create a system that allows you to sync the progress between multiple platforms. To do that, we would need to create "DBD accounts" that you can use anywhere, since you can't just log into your Steam account on a PS4, for example.

And then if we get into sharing DLCs, for example, that brings up a whole different set of issues. That would have to be negotiated with each platform, since buying it on one platform and transferring it to another means any other platforms you transfer it to don't get their share of the sales.

Ican see your point. Not easy man... BUT WHAT IF DEAD BY DAYLIGHT HAD A STORE INSIDE THE WEBSITE, SO WE BUY AGAIN THE GAME AND DLC AND THAT WOULD STICK IN OUR DBD ACCOUNT (like hash thing) AND IF IM IN ANY PLATAFORM AND IVE BOUGHT FROM THE STORE of DBD SITE, THEN THE GAME (FROM iNSIDE) RE SYNC WITH UR DBD STATS. Got It? A way tô say no tô those s*** like, WITH this we would not being migrating anything, BUT THE game itself would do what he wants, not delevering DLC or licenses, BUT Just a pseudo one that IS disconnected WITH THE main account, like steam Xbox Live, BUT at THE same time syncronized WITH THE DBD account, INSIDE de game. Sorry my english, my keyboard corrector is set tô another language

I dont Care about buying THE game again, i just Care about my time spent i dont want tô start FROM zero

Check WITH your lawyers If thats legal and think about it

If the killer hasn't hooked anyone, survivors should be punished for repairing generators.

Does that sound fair to you in any way? That's because it isn't. Neither side should be punished for playing efficiently.

I'm not saying that, i hope that was sarcastic... or just a like bait

"Neither side should be punished for playing efficiently."

Man, don't you know how to interpret? read my thread again. Nobody should be punished for playing bad or playing good, your skills is up to you, unless you are destroying the other people games, since, you must consider that, in this game there are no bots only players and some boundaries must be sticked.

Even with those boundaries i believe you should have the option to do whatever you want, even if you are an as**, because while i say punishment i suggested that giveaway bloodpoints and to other situations a simple no BONUS, (to me that's not even a punishment is just a "I told you"), if you don't feel like following those cultural rules, you just don't get the bonus. Let me be more clear::

My Quote: " if there's still 5 gens left, if you tunnel the survivor, he should get your bloodpoints lefting you with 0 untill that point. But if there's 2 gens left and no sacrifice yet, tunnel is a great way to balance things and must NOT be consider a way of disgrace "

-> If you are camping one survivor, that's ok, even in the beggining of the match.

BUT if you are Tunneling, efficiently, a survivor AT the BEGgining of the match, (remember that you start with 0 points) and you stick with that one survivor (while not his obssession, because that would explain something) and kill him in the first minutes, BECAUSE you tunneled him, HE should get all your points (those you earned chasing and getting him) and your points should be reseted to that point, -- altho i think it's ok to let the emblems to pip it up (is a more efficient way to punish him, because he will play with the big boys, hahaha)--, after that, probably 2/1 more gen (s) will be done and life goes on, no more punishment because of the gens., only more bonus to the killer.

So what i'm trying to say is: "Killers are OP compared to survivors in a not organized team" When the game give you 60 seconds to wait for the entetity and more few seconds to completly die, and considering that (without mori) you can't even kill a survivor, that means the game is telling you to hook, give the guy a chance and go hunt somewhere else.

I'm on for the punishment against the "baby" killers that Tunnel WHILE* there's still at least 4-5 GENS LEFT, because that means you are just chasing the same dude quickly to get 3x1 and get an easy match, that's not a crime, but have you though about that one survivor, what if he was you and that kept happening at lEast 3-5x a day, would you be happy with those idjits? because there's nothing to do about it, unless getting better at running, but if that's true the game is saying "This game is like school, if you are weak you get bully, after u get rich/good job you bully them"

I know what i said had flaws, i was hopping someone upgrade it, anyway, bye. I hope my ideas were worth in some way to, at least, gives someone a better idea. Im done with this subject

Camping isn’t efficient though. All you did was secure ONE kill while everyone else did the objective and escaped. Camping does nothing for either side

Camping is the best strategy if the team comes rescue that hooked survivor:

If one stayed reparing and the other 2 comes to the rescue, you basically already won that match.

If 3 survivors comes to the rescue, you are F. (considering they know what they are doing)

If none survivor comes to the rescue you are F.

have you ever heard of the "BASEMENT" place, top place to sleep over.

Go ######### chase somebody else. Is there problem with that? I don't see point in defending hook, if you see somebody going for unhook go get him, don't camp just because you 'think' somebody is around.

"if you see somebody going for unhook go get him, don't camp just because you 'think' somebody is around." .

You just describe camping, and that's why a killer should camp in that scenario.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/630852#Comment_630852

What I'm saying that while, yeah, camping sucks, there are just too many reasons to do it. The 'Human Factor' behind camping is so much a part of it that you literally cannot program in every legit reason a Killer has to camp.

And if a Killer has a legit reason to camp, punishing them for it would be profoundly unfair. I'd rage if I got slowed/teleported/a free unhook/lost BP/whatever because I camped for 1 or 2 kills in a match where everyone was a 3- or 4-man meme-build meant to bully me instead of win.

So, overall, camping just CANNOT be punished. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

yeah lol, i totally agree with that. Ok, i respect your opinion ^^, i will stick with that single scenario that i mentioned... "if there are still 5 gens left, tunnel should get punishment", not camping, since even camping doesn't mean anything, because 1 killer vs 3 survivors + 1 hooked = survivors win anyway, if they are organized.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

I have 133 hours in DBD. I've been tunneled and camped from the first second of a match.

I mean, to the point that the Killer actively ignored Survivors poking him in the chest. Literally. My friend prodded his chest with the 'Point' emote repeatedly and he just STARED at me.

Another person got caught in a bear trap? He just STARED at me.

I got unhooked when he went afk a moment, and when he returned, he ran past TWO Survivors to hunt me down.

I did not bring a single item into the match. I did not have meta perks. This guy just wanted me dead so badly. He rehooked me and resumed staring. His soulless eyes boring into mine.

Did I suddenly think camping was OP and needed a change? Did I complain how unfair it was?

    NO!

It was ONE bloody match. The Killer decided to play My Little Stalker and turn me into a shrine for his tsundere love. I had a laugh and moved on. It happens.

Stop Asking For Biased Changes Just Because You Dislike A Legitimate Playstyle!

Anything you suggest will be abuseable. Stop.

You are just thinking about yourself, if you are good or not. When you say: " I had a laugh and moved on. It happens." is because you had only one bad experience in that day/week or whatever, some players doesnt have that good luck and find themselves with the most noob killers, i'm not saying anything like "camping is a crime to humanity" or tunnel, i do that myself sometimes, it all depends on how the team will act after the first hook. I dont facecamp because is rude or it will just give too much credit to that survivor, but i explained the scene and yet you decliened, because in your great experience things happens.

I only suggested one more encouragement to killers, at least, altho that should be clearly explained to the players, since the biggest problems must be with killers rank 13-17 and some noobs of better rank. If there are so many people complaining that must happens more than 1 time in a day. I know, because (not facecamping) but bad tunneling in a not organized team, is a crappy match. 0 fun 0 rewards 0 brains.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/630762#Comment_630762

Heck no! Sometimes I avoid tunneling someone, chase off their friend, and then find the unhooked schmuck 3 feet away self-healing. All these half-baked fixes would punish ME for his bad play.

I should in NO WAY be punished with less bloodpoints because they were too silly to actually run away. People would abuse the hell out of this.

And on a 1 minute & 20 seconds counter? NO!

Or giving the Survivors MY bloodpoints? Double-bloody-NO! Do you know how many Survivors would try to abuse that mechanic and steal bloodpoints?

    I will say it again:

KILLERS SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED IF THEY HAVE/WANT TO CAMP OR TUNNEL!

hi, thats funny man, after I posted the comment, i remember that possibility and went edit asap, take a look in my new edited, i will paste here:

"Also, when i'm playing killer, there are times (quiet often) that I don't want to camp or tunnel someone, so i just go forward and, in that point, someone unhook the survivor and that same unhooked guy goes directly to me and I stick my fork in him, since we can never refuse free food, so in that case, the algorithm should be added with a merge of meters, like, altho the clock ticks every 10 seconds, if that same survivor runned or walked for more than 45 meteres from where he was hooked the points will count as a full 8. 45 m in a line, not running in circles and while not in a chase!."

But, that was not a punishment, that was a reward, each point will be considered in the end, and if you get points, basicaly for doing nothing, this points will generate BONUS in hunting + hooking category, so this is the opposite of punishment.

Altho i suggested one little punishment for tunneling survivors when there's 5 gens LEFT. Because i have already played this game, hundred of hours, some hours as survivor and others as killer. And i know how frustating is in the beggining of the match a noob killer tunneling me, just because he can't control the match against 4 survivors, in the end i get -2 pip and riddiculus 3k bloodpoints...

    -------

But about the survivors knowing the system and abusing of your good will, just ignore the bonus in that match and bring them hell

    ---

Altho i think that, survivors critic so much that everytime devs needs to boost some good encouragement to the killers to avoid some kind of attitude, in the end you will see that, playing killer you get, almost always, 20k or more of bloodpoints, even a bad one (where everyone survived). While the survivors get 2-5 k for a bad match, because of a tunnel for example.

  • just make an algorithm that will start to calculate like this:

After the person u hooked is unhooked a timer will begin, every 10 seconds, it count 1 point, if the killer hook that same person before 1 point, that means he had tunnel/camping and won't get bloodpoints bonus, if he hooked before finishing 6 points, he will get only half points, each hook will have a total of 8 points, in a total of 80 seconds, after that it will stop.

-- at the end of the match, the more points you have, more exp BONUS you get --.

If the killer hooked and went to another survivor, the clock will keep going until 8 points but will stop after the second hook (if it happens before getting to 8p), this systematic will keep going.

I was going to suggest to create a silent heartbeat emited by the survivor, only being able to be listen by the killer, and in that radius the killer won't get points, but that's WRONG, since we all should agree that camping is just a strategy not an exploit, if you want stay camping someone, the survivor should tell his friends and they will gen rush, because karma is a b**ch.

Altho, i really think that tunneling should be fixed, like... if there's still 5 gens left, if you tunnel the survivor, he should get your bloodpoints lefting you with 0 untill that point. But if there's 2 gens left and no sacrifice yet, tunnel is a great way to balance things and must NOT be consider a way of disgrace, the killer should not have bonus for that but in the same way should not be punish for that.

    *quick note:

Also, when i'm playing killer, there are times (quiet often) that I don't want to camp or tunnel someone, so i just go forward and, in that point, someone unhook the survivor and that same unhooked guy goes directly to me and I stick my fork in him, since we can never refuse free food, so in that case, the algorithm should be added with a merge of meters, like, altho the clock ticks every 10 seconds, if that same survivor runned or walked for more than 45 meteres from where he was hooked the points will count as a full 8. 45 m in a line, not running in circles and while not in a chase!.

  • Up, I wanted to ask for that but since there's 138 posts about it...

Will they provide a cross platform (leaving mobile separated/alone)? Since it will be a dedicated server, why not? More players = More fun

Also the possibility, after private servers, of getting 2 killers 8 survivors and 2 teams:

  • I'm used to equip

    > Sprint Brust, but i'm very disapointed with this perk, and it doesn't efficient work against rank < 8 killers, you must be very clever to confuse the killer;

    > Urban Evasion, works great with sprint Brust and small Survivors (like Claudette), not efficient or worth with tall survivors;

    * SelfCare, because i dont play with friends

    >SpineChill, very usefull if you understand the generator's tip.

But, i would say (you'll hate this answer) it depends on the survivor body shape, like if you want go stealth, this is the best build i know, like a lot of matches the killer don't even see me, but if u want be more bold/fearless i would change all of them, except (maybe) for SpineChill
