if tis just a game then why do you use such a pathetic way of doing a >challenge<?

its just a game right? just play normally and you will get when you get it?

Indeed I'll get it one day whatever but that's a good opportunity to play a different way. A game is more fun when you can vary the experience. Playing always the same thing can get boring after a while don't you agree?

So what's the problem with Basement Bubba? What's "pathetic" in it? What's not "normal" in it? You look salty bro. I'm just playing a game and you look very salty about something so insignificant that we meet like one game out of 50+ when playing survivor. :')

Only time I complain about slowdown is when the killer in question doesn’t need it like a good nurse or spirit.

In my opinion these two don't need any perk to catch survivor so just one perk for information (BBQ, nurse calling, etc...) and you have 3 free slots for anything. You might as well get some perks to slow progress for the times you struggle a bit against very good survivors. It makes sense to me.

  • You're absolutely right! Also it's fun to see you say that. A few minutes ago I got called "heartless" and "sociopath" and that I need to get help... because I played basement Bubba for a "hook in the basement" archive and I didn't see any issue about it. I dared to say I don't mind facing a basement Bubba sometimes and there I got the immediate answer: "you're an actual sociopath my god"

People take this game way too seriously... I already got death threats for playing some stuff like T1 Myers with map offering in Hawkings. It's a game people just chill xD

  • She cuoldn't see the locker door. It was in a classroom in Midwich. She went in the hallway and turned the corner to the other hallway. So there was a big distance and two walls between the Nurse and the lockers/gen.

It might have been a very lucky timing after her being paranoid like you said. It's either that or a cheat. I don't see any other explanation and we'll never know.

  • Well it happened on Midwich and gen was in a room, hook was in a hallway further away so she couldn't see anything from where she was. Also she walked and didn't blink. When she came back into the room she didn't look left or right, she stared at the locker and walked straight to it.

  • If the killer can't find you after killing your mate you have a little time to look for the hatch. Your chances are slim but it can happen.

If you don't move at all the killer will just get you instantly. I've seen a few times the hatch spawning not that far from the downed survivor and if he crawled away he may have had it.

But yeah sometimes some people do it out of spite.

  • The only thing putting me off with Nemesis is how random the tentacle is. Supposedly you can hit people over small obstacles but I saw small obstacles coming to like a survivor's waist and the tentacle couldn't go over it.

On the other hand a Nemesis could hit me through the crates piled up in front of the Saloon. They're easily high enough to completely hide a standing survivor.

    It feels so random.

  • I'm not talking about the bell. I'm talking about the groaning-ike noises he does when just walking around in stealth mode (and you can hear them when selecting him in the menus as well).

It's to know how close I can get from a survivor (from the other side of a wall or something) to reveal myself and jumpscare them thanks to the Coxcombed Clapper hiding the bell noise.

It depends on how long you did that. If it was a minute or two, you're fine. If it was ten or more, I believe you deserve a ban. You can't just waste everyone's time holding the game hostage to that extent and think that you are justified in doing so.

It was just to put them at madness tier 3. Also it was 3 of them so the 4th one could finish all gens if I were to try to hold them hostage forever.

It’s also not particularly helpful that many players are making innocent mistakes with interpretations of much of the terminology.

It’s understandable why many players who wouldn’t even come to these forums, or the games social media channels, report a killer for blocking a survivor into a corner or crevice for a hit, or use of their power, or just taunt the survivor for a little bit, because in their mind the report system says body blocking is reportable l, and is quite vague about specifically what type of body blocking is against the game rules.

So yeah, like you I’m concerned about genuine vindictiveness, but I’m more concerned about the monumental amount of reports that would get lodged daily due to misunderstanding the terminology of what’s reportable.

Yes for the bodyblocking. I once found 3 survivors in the showers room of the map "The Game" as Doctor. I just used my power to put ALL of them to madness tier 3 before hitting them. The 3 of them claimed it was reportable and reported me for that. I'm pretty sure at least 70% of the player base has actually no idea what's actually reportable or not....

  • Everybody talking about how they get beginner survivors.

Me when MMR is on: 80% Sweaty SFW trying super hard against me being a casual killer with fun builds like T1 Myers to spook people, Mad Grit PPhead to have fun with the broken attack animation, etc... The last 20% are still mostly Rank 1 survivors... just not in a SWF.

Also of course most of the SWF were toxic pricks bragging about their victory and doing their best to bully me. I don't care that much about it but when it's most games it becomes tiring after a while. So yeah I wish I knew the MMR was back the same as months ago. I would not have played at all. And I'll probably stop playing DbD completely the day it's permanently implemented if they don't improve it.

I wish I could have beginners against me to at least spook them xD I'm someone playing for fun with silly builds and stuff, not tryharding.

I've gotten a handful of kills with Victor like this, but even better is when you have Deathslinger + NOED and you just drag them out of the exit and down them.

Add Bloodwarden on that and if they're stupid enough it becomes hilarious on so many levels.

  • Funny how nobody went there saying "Oh yes I'm doing it because [Reason]". It's like they know they're doing sh*t and they're afraid to admit it. I find it funny.

Anyway thank you for your replies everybody.

Or you can go get destruction points breaking stuff...lay traps with hag and trapper for points, frenzy with legion, phase with spirit, etc.

I mostly play Myers or Wraith so... yeah hitting a survivor is the best way to get a few points.

  • @latinfla4 said:

If you are seeing the ritual you are playing killer wrong...

Mmmh what do you mean? When they seem to be at exit gate I shouldn't go at exit gate to push them out? What am I doing wrong? Maybe I should afk in a corner of the map instead? I mean other than wasting time I don't see the point. Better grab a few blood points on them and end the game quicker, no?

  • When I started I remember looking at perk and thinking: "Uh Prove Thyself and Leader... This Dwight looks like great to start with teamplay. My mere presence will help at least a bit."

I was afraid of being a weight for the others so that helped my confidence a bit.

Yes... and after they’re hooked for a second time a toxic killer can kill them instantly

Yes they can... Losing the most precious resource of the game (time) to avoid one potential perk... a perk that I don't even see once per match now. And it would be in a very specific scenario. This will happen like... once every 5-10 games maybe? (probably even less than that). Once again if it's just that point and only that... it's laughable now with the DS rework.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

It’s toxic that killers can camp someone on second stage, and totally ignore any risk of DS.

Ok so it's supposedly toxic that killer would potentially have a way to counter half of one perk (because not countered between first and second hook) in a very specific scenario (catching the survivor right after the unhook before the survivor touches any gen, does any heal, etc...)?

Considering most of the moris take way longer than just picking up and hooking (except if the survivor managed to get veeeery far from ANY hook which is rather uncommon) then actually doing the mori without knowing if the person has DS or not isn't always the best "tactical choice". Let's face it: moris are mostly used for their cool animation. Not the supposedly strategic advantage it would potentially offer.

When accounting the fact that DS isn't very used anymore compared to before it's rework where it was EVERYWHERE... I really have hard time to consider it remotely toxic with this basis alone.

@danielmaster87 Yes the parallel between moris being toxic and keys being "just changed" without any comment about their state now surprised me... hence this thread.

  • They said "despite the recent changes to Mori offerings" before talking about how "toxic" it is and that they would change it because of that. That's why I'm confused about it. I don't think they're talking about pre-rework mori.

  • Soooo let me sum up the main reasons I got supposedly reported (according to the one reporting) so far:

-I didn't unhook someone being facecamped by a Leatherface

-I'm a "cheater" because I can see through walls and know survivors position... with scratched mirror Myers.

    -I dared to use NOED

    -I dared to use Barbecue&Chili

-When I arrived at the entrance of the shower rooms on the map "The Game" as Doctor (gen not done yet) I spent about 20 seconds shocking the 3 survivors who were stuck in it before hitting them. It was supposedly an abuse and reportable if I were to trust the salty SWF guys. (no I don't believe them)

-I opened the exit gate completely instead of just 99%. The killer with NOED was just staring at me menacingly while casually walking towards me but yeah.

I don't remember the other reasons but they're all the same kind of things. So you want to implement a kind of auto-ban system based on reports? With this kind of salty community reporting anything they don't like and having not the slightest idea about what's actually forbidden and what's not?

That's the worst idea you could ever had... after the Easy Anti-Cheat which doesn't work on cheaters and even banned a few people because they dared to lag (which was interpreted as speedhack/teleportation apparently). Yeaaaaah.... you should have your team work on a REAL anti-cheat system instead of making them work on this REAAAALLY bad idea.

  • ROFLMAO I get called "cheater" in about 20% of my games when playing T1 Myers with Scratched Mirrors. I guess I'll get banned pretty quickly if they implement this thing. RIP

  • I noted down a few obvious cheaters (like this one, or a survivor doing all 5 gens alone in about 15 seconds) and they're still not banned months after. Meanwhile one of my friends got banned because his Internet connection screwed up and from server side it looked like he got teleported over a great distance. His appeal was rejected and he never played this game since then.

    Yeah great anti-cheat :')

  • So before this update I could have games too easy, too hard, balanced. It was a lottery. Since the update it's nearly unplayable for me.

I'm a casual player, often doing some meme builds and often like green rank in both roles. In survivor games it's difficult to say with the other survivors being here and adding their own value to the equation. But as a killer? So far I have an average of at least 3 red ranks per game and the last one is either purple or green. I had 2 kills in one game but in most cases I can consider myself lucky if I have even one kill.

I just can't enjoy the game anymore if I'm always against top SWF players in EVERY SINGLE MATCH. I think the MMR calucations can be sometimes completely off the mark as some people have good results and others are in a case similar to mine.
