In it, JocelynAwakens says that players should be "receiving 5 Rift Fragments per 500 XP", implying it should be earned whether or not there's an active Quest.
Reading to the end of the thread, it seems the bug might've been fixed when 2v8 ended. As far as I know, there's been no official confirmation on it being a bug or it being fixed, though.
Yup, very fishy how this "bug" seems to have been fixed when 2v8 ended and we never heard a peep from anyone official when it had been going on for weeks (not getting rift fragments from XP once quests were completed). It's almost as if they were making sure no one finished the rift too quickly (because it would've been so easy to finish when 2v8 was happening).

Seems to be fixed after 2v8 ended. Wondering if they did it on purpose so we wouldn't finish the rift too fast.

The quest I had to save today was healing 1 health state so I couldn't heal anybody. I'm sure people thought I was an arse but it's really not my fault. 10 fragments now (with the double XP) per game is too hard to pass up. Really wish this was fixed already though. 2v8 is my favourite mode and not getting rift fragments from XP really discouraged me from playing as much as I would have liked to. I hope they make 2v8 permanent in the future, those who don't like it can always keep playing 1v4.

Only thing I've found that works for sure is to save a daily quest. I had one for 3 gen skill checks and just avoided it by T bagging gens to death. It sucks but at least you get the fragments you're supposed to be getting after a match.
If anyone is wondering this bug is still happening as of today (Monday), so save a daily quest if you want to get your fragments. Can't believe 2v8 is almost over and this was never fixed.

Yes I know it's 500 XP. The number of rift fragments does not change at all no matter how many games I play after I've completed all survivor quests. Like I said it works fine if you have an active quest for whichever side you're playing (killer or survivor) but once you finish them you no longer receive any rift fragments at all from XP.

We aren't receiving the rift fragments from XP because we've completed all of the quests. That's the bug, once you complete all of the current quests (rift, milestone, daily) you stop getting the 5 rift fragments per 500 XP. The only ones getting them from XP right now are those who still have active quests left to complete.
For me personally, I've completed all of the survivor quests that I can and once I did that I stopped getting the fragments from XP completely whenever I play survivor. I still have a few killer quests left to complete and I always get the 5 fragments from XP after a match like I should if I play killer. It seems to only happen after you finish all of the quests. It's been happening since the 2v8 started, or maybe when the new rift was released I'm not sure, I only noticed it last week and was waiting to see if it would be fixed this week before I made a post about it.

yeah when this weeks quests came out, I decided to not so the 4 scourge hooks so I can farm some rift fragments. I wish I didn’t do the medic quest for 2 v 8 so I could play survivor but hindsights 20/20.
Either way this bug has significantly reduced how much I’ve played the game.
I initially saved the medic quest as well but noticed I wasn't getting the 5 fragments after a game so the next day I saved a daily to try that and it worked. I think the only type of quest you can save and still get the fragments are the rift, milestone and dailies. Saving a 2v8 quest doesn't matter, so don't feel bad. lol
This bug sucks hard though, I'm definitely not playing as much as I normally would have either and I LOVE the 2v8 mode. *sigh*

Tested it out again yesterday. I saved a daily quest, didn't touch a single generator as the only quest I could avoid completing was the one for repairing 1 generator. Played a few games like that and got 5 rift fragments after every game like you're supposed to. Just sucks I can't play the game normally.
Apparently this bug happens for killers too not just survivors. If you only play killer and complete all killer quests, you'll stop getting the 5 rift fragments from XP after your games as well.
Still no word on a fix?

This bug is still happening unfortunately. I tested it out after the new quests were released Tuesday and sure enough, once I finished all survivor quests I stopped getting rift fragments from XP after my games.

It's a bug that's triggered by completing all of the current quests. If you don't have an active quest you won't get any rift fragments from the XP you earned that game. One way to ensure you get them is to not complete one of the daily quests. The only one you can actively avoid completing is the one for unhooking a survivor but then you'd have to make sure you don't save anybody from a hook, which sucks. It feels like there may be some people doing this though as I seem to stay up on the hook (or caged/whatever) for 2 hook states or left to die more so than the last 2v8 they did in the wintertime. Here's hoping it will be fixed today! Sucks to have missed out on all those fragments, not gonna lie. Would be nice if they extend the 2v8 after messing up the first week.

It's definitely bugged. I was getting them from xp but not anymore.

It's happening to me a lot on Xbox as well. It's now to the point where I'm receiving matchmaking bans because I'm getting disconnected from the server every few games. I've never had this happen before. The problem is definitely on their end and hopefully they can fix their server issues or at the very least temporarily disable the crazy matchmaking bans while they work on their servers. I'd really like to play some 2v8 but they're making the game unplayable with these bans.

Yeah it's a huge problem but I have yet to see anyone addressing it. I've never disconnected so much like I have these past 3 days, it's ridiculous. I just played my third game of the day and got disconnected for the first time and received a 15 min matchmaking ban, like ######### is going on??? How can they do that, it's honestly making the game unplayable. I really hope they fix their server issues soon. I was hoping it would be fixed with the update but nope! My internet connection is NOT the issue here and it seems as though there's literally nothing we can do but wait and hope they fix it. I was really hoping to play some 2v8 too, it sucks. 😔
