Everybody with his prefferences buddy, but that would make characters less unique. Kate is the jack of all trades, Jane is thicc, Felix is the chad etc.

What you're thinking of is client-sided, which is modding. That has, in fact, been proven to be used as a way to gain an advantage. Think neon-bright traps, outfits, whathaveyou.
