Man just play console, it runs well and it has alot of Players from all over the world. If it wasn't successful, it wouldn't get any attention from BHVR
I don't have a console do I, and if I did I would be playing console exclusives on it not a game that I could run far better and have a much better time playing on pc.

Spine chill is useful against every killer, Myers and Ghostface especially.
Its a waste of a perk slot, just use your eyes and ears you were born with them for a reason.

I wouldn't call this a solution to either of those issues.
Yes, technically this means that people won't randomly lose exclusive items. But the reason they were losing them in the first place wasn't because of the exclusivity itself, it was because of a bug in the way exclusive items were coded. So the solution is not to just give the items to everybody, the solution is to fix the darn code. Perhaps by using the same code which they use to assign store-bought items to some players' accounts and not others.
And yes, technically this means that people will no longer be able to scam others by pretending to sell exclusive skins online. But that's not the devs' problem to fix, nor is it their responsibility. People sell counterfeit copies of the game itself online which don't actually work - should the devs just make the game free to play to stop them from doing that? There are probably fake auric cell packs being sold on dodgy websites for "discounted" prices. Should the developers make auric cells free to stop that from happening?
I'm not commenting on the ethical ramifications of giving the cosmetics away for free - I'm just saying that the stated reasons for doing so were heavily logically flawed.
What i've been saying this whole time but your post will just be disregarded with some drivel.

"look around" doesnt work when you have walls, lol. You dont have to be at an indoor map to be in a location where spinechill is helpful. Being inside the temple of purgation for example, spinechill will let you know when a stealth killer is coming your way, it'll let you know when a Nurse is about to Blink ontop of you as opposed to just Blinking around the temple, ect.
Again, or you could just use your noggin and use the perk slot for something else?

Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not Nostradamus. I don't automatically know whether the Killer is going to find me or not when the only information I have to work with is the Terror Radius. I'm not going to get into a chase if I don't have to.
But honestly, if you're going to start insulting people's skill just because they're using a top-tier perk that you dislike for no apparent reason, then we're done here.
Have fun in the Fog.
Its only top tier if you're bad imo :/

I heard it was a bug after an update, the devs are trying their best to fix it
Its because every update they release fixing 1 bug creates 20 more somehow.

The problem with the Terror Radius is that even if you're not worried about a stealth killer, it will give you a lot of false positives. Just because you can hear the Terror Radius doesn't mean the Killer is going to find you.
There are many, many occasions where I've heard the Terror Radius, but Spine Chill didn't light up, so I knew the Killer hadn't seen me and I didn't need to start running. It's allowed me to spend a lot more time working on gens, healing, or unhooking, when I would have otherwise risked being seen if I was just relying on the Terror Radius.
Or you can just use your brain to figure out if the killer is coming to you or not so you can work on gens or stuff. Using spine chill for info is the equivalent of using technician because you suck at skill checks.

Even if exclusivity is a thing doesn't mean it's a good thing. It is a disgusting marketing strategy trying to exploit consumers into buying something now because it might not ever come back.
I'm glad BHVR is taking a stance and saying no to exclusives.
They're the only ones doing it and will be, have fun cuddling with your communist devs.

How is spine chill useful against only one killer? Did you ever use something else besides bt,ds, adre, and bl/dh/sb? This perk literally tells you whether spirit is phasing or not, tells you when the killer is coming to you etc... but yeah works only against one killer. *FACEPALM*
I can now confirm I only use decisive and that is to stop tunneling.

If you rely only on your eyes to see the Killer coming, you're generally not going to do well. There's a reason the Terror Radius exists.
Spine Chill lets you know if the Killer is coming towards you, or if they're just walking past you. It lets you know if any of the stealth killers are coming towards you. It's easily a top-tier perk for anyone who doesn't want to get caught off-guard.
Obviously you wouldn't just ignore the terror radius lmao but the terror radius just makes spine chill useless and if you don't go against a stealth killer you could have had a much more useful perk against them so taking spine chill is basically hoping you get 3 (4 if you include scratched mirror myers) killers out of all the killers in the game.

Yes every is in the open with 360° free view for 50m at least. Sorry about the perks but to me it seems many people have no clue how useful some perks are. You will not see spirit+beads coming etc..
Again, why would you use a perk for just one or two killers when you could have anything else in that perk slot.

You can just look around to see the killer coming to you? and I don't know what half those perks are in shorthand so yeah I probably do use perks other than those.

But there are far better perks you could use in the slot so why would you take it?

Not to mention spine chill now makes his stealth useless.
I don't see why survivors would run a perk thats only useful against one killer when people play more than one killer though.

Yes it would stop it and fix the problem of people's skins being missing.

Well you said that losing exclusivity of skins is a problem (the title of the post and your initial propose suggest that a player who had exclusive skins being mistaken with someone who got it for free is a problem (because they won't be able to be proud of themselves using anymore for some reason?)). Then you suggested for the Legacy effect to be given to these exclusive skins (ultimately invalidating your point since the legacy skins are actually exclusive and the same problem would apply to players losing their legacy effect exclusivity). Still doesn't solve the problem for players who lost their exclusive skins (since there's way to many of them and it would take a lot of time to verify one by one). You did say that you didn't want the devs to give free exclusive skins (which they're also doing to end the scam market and you are aware of it) because they would stop being exclusive, so they should just leave it alone, not solving it. So yeah... My interpretation of what you said it's pretty valid.
It isn't. I'm the one that wrote the messages so I think i'd know if your interpretation was what I sent/meant.
-
If you're going to try and develop an arguement to try and persuade someone maybe you shouldn't keep constantly bringing up stuff that was never said?

@BearWolf_51 said:

Saying that "I don't want the devs to end the exclusivity of skins because I want exclusivity because I was lucky I didn't lose my exclusive skins due to a bugged system and even if they are doing to end the scam market, they just shouldn't because I'm going to lose my exclusive pixels" doesn't sound childish, egocentric and ridiculous... Well, then I just feel like I can't change your mind. Good luck with that thought
I just never said any of that though did I?
-
@BearWolf_51 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/841760#Comment_841760
You said that it would be easier to just let it alone and eventually it would run out of codes. Problem is: less codes = more expensive and no one knows how many codes there are out there. I heard about people having MANY of them, so "letting it solve itself" it's not a solution. You saying that that's how it should be instead of the devs doing something about this (such as giving the skins that were supposed to be free as free skins to everyone) is defending it.
Its just not.
-
@BearWolf_51 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/841383#Comment_841383
Here's you saying it. And the "Exclusive" label its not really exclusive. Although I get the frustration, there's really nothing that can be done after they said they're releasing it. It is the easiest and probably the only way to guarantee that every player who had those have them back but since you're not REALLY losing anything, just getting some skins (if you didn't had them all), then it's easier to just accept and move on
Literally just not endorsing scamming though.
-
@BearWolf_51 said:
I really don't get why this is a problem to you. Why do you need MORE compensation for having these skins other than the fact that you were able to wear those all along and most players and all new players couldn't. You're seriously defending the scam market just because everyone is NOW getting a free skin you had all this time for free? You're not losing anything but the exclusivity of the free skins you have in a video game, don't need to be so egocentric. After all, just like you, many players who had these skins cared about them and now they lost them and there's not an efficient way to prove who had them and who didn't. This compensation wouldn't be fair for them.
Not defending any scam market at all not sure where you got that from? also i've previously said its not about the fact I paid its the fact that they would release skins labelled as exclusive when they aren't and at this point i'm just constantly repeating myself, please read the thread before commenting something of no value, cheers.

And i have none of this ######### i stand to do nothing but gain, but I know it means a lot less to me than it does to the people who have it currently. I think OPs idea is really good for that reason

It always reminds me of when I used to go to the disco. People paid admission until 12 o'clock at night, but after that it was free. Here patience simply paid off.
Maybe the devs should integrate a skin editor to the game. Then everyone can design and dress their own character.
They're far too lazy for that.

The way they were stored caused the game to randomly remove them. I don't think even the best developer in the world can forsee something like that happening until it happened. So the best course of action is to give everyone the exclusive cosmetics. Basically making it permanently for everyone.
They should've stored them differently then, have them attached to steam accounts through the inventory like exclusives and anniversary skins are.
-
Couldn't agree more.
-
@Volfawott said:
For starters you didn't buy the any of these cosmetics from behaviour so they really shouldn't have to compensate you for anything.
If you want them in a contest, giveaway or tournament yes it could be a little frustrating but you're not owed anything
If you bought it from an outside source then you one definitely not entitled to anything
They shouldn't label something as exclusive if it isn't end of.

Because exclusives is now for everyone it's no longer fun?
How does that work?
No because the recent killers they've added have been overloaded in power with not many changes to survivor to accomodate so every surv game you see the same few killers every game. Playing the exact same matches over and over with little variation (same meta perks always run on every killer) gets very boring.

A lot more than 20 console players play obviously, and it's not only for them, it's also for players who's cosmetics disappeared from their inventory and they don't want to go back in one by one to put them all back in, which I don't blame them
Maybe they should've thought about making it so skins that people earned didn't randomly dissapear so they have to be given to everyone.

legacy...maybe you gone too far but yes, what devs did not even close to right
includes me many people can earn free exclusive items of course most people agree about this
because of population of doesn't having them,i learned this is ideal of communism
most people get them free but devs problem is not even that for me,
the real problem is before even community fight agans each other
devs already ignored their time limited grinds and events or invited players to locations,
and saying the only reason is they concerned even fewer users scammed at future or reselling is problem because its unofficial
but as i know i see code sellers existed 2years+ at ebay, and those codes are all given unlimited time to use, they could already expected that million years ago and always possible to noticing them before
what a lazy excuses, and peanit said bad about that, considering length of being "exclusive" they already done worth , but i think thats not the devs part to judge, their event involved players(pre-owners) should judge if they respect any of them
and of course most of them will not agree, because devs announced we nothing to give for them
so i know this is hot potato but just ignore free earning players like me because they just happy and rage agans rich kids in game like you, pity them and also i pity you from this happen
Thank you.

I would not feel otherwise, I got 2 exclusives in a giveaway and would have had the exact same opinion.
