  • I remember when it came out. Alot of folks(myself included) thought it would be a Warewolf. Still holding out fir a werewolf killer btw BHVR

  • You guys are getting survivors at late hours?

I know, because I am a Rank 1 Survivor and a Rank 1 Killer, and I have been for over a 1.4k hours.

I am witness to the fact that reaching Rank 1 does not improve one's gameplay experience, with regards to teammates.

The only thing being Rank 1 does is increase my likelyhood of playing against a competent killer who will either ######### on my teammates, and myself by proxy, or not make me feel like an ass for bullying a killer.

Red Ranks is far from an indication of skill, and the matchmaking system achknowledges that by repeatedly throwing me alongside Green and Purple ranks who occassionally are better than the gen-averse robots wielding a red rank in post-game lobby.

Oh I agree red ranks means nothing in terms of skill, I'm also a red rank player with the same hours as you. However I can only argue from my perspective(like you're doing) and I never see a red rank player run urban evasion and just crawl around the map for the entire game. The only red rank survivors I do see run Bt, Unbreakable, DS, DH iron will and other meta perks. Sometimes a meme build but never a stealth build. Do these perks often carry survivors? Of course. However stealth won't carry you to red ranks, you need to best the Killer head on in order to pip. At the very least to stay in red ranks

  • A friend of mine came up with a theory when playing the PTB yesterday.

What if the new animations could somehow be tied to lore? Look at the current survivor models, standing still and moving around? Cautious, scared...now look at the new animations, they look focused, still scared but it's as if they know what the situation is...and what is happening around them.

I'm not a big fan of the new animations, besides the pick yourself up animation. But I like the idea of them being tied to the lore even if it's far fetched.

  • I like to Run Inner&Hunch to counter the ever popular Ruin&Undying Combo, as an added bonus it keeps me Healed so that's one less issue.

For the 3rd perk I run Kindred, so much information it's too good to pass up, plus it helps your team plan saves when you're hooked.

My last perk varies from how my games have been going up untill a certain point. So I'll play afew games with a Random perk and if I keep seeing Freddy's I'll run technician, if I keep seeing Wraiths I'll run spine chill to prevent him getting the drop on me. Or even if I'm being tunneled alot I'll run DS.

Good luck, I'm a 100% solo que player and it can be difficult at times

  • Does it happen just as much as the lower ranks or even as much as in purple ranks? I'll admit "Alot" might have been a strech. But I just can't agree with it being common in Red ranks, the only survivors I see in Red ranks run the meta perks, again I'm not saying these survivors are non existent. But they're not common either, as most people at that point no stealth isn't as good as looping

its not less common in red ranks. mostly because i don't get matched with red ranks, but also because the red ranks I do get matched with are still fairly new to the game.

How would you know exactly? Forgive me if that sounded Snarky, not my intention but how can you know that its not less common if you don't even play with red ranks? I play at rank 1 survivor and literally never see Urban Evasion P3 players that don't benefit the team. I do agree withsome (not all) red ranks being new to the game. Like I said it's "alot less common" the problem dosent completely vanish as stealth is a tactic similarly to camping. The problem with afew(not all) red rank players are that they just gen rush and hope it works.

  • Once you get to Red ranks its ALOT less common. I recommend you focus on getting there, whilst some red ranks have they're own issues and the games more sweaty you won't need to put up with P3 Clauds self caring In the corner.

  • You think you can loop me with rags like those? Pathetic...

Play as you wish using what you wish and if it helps you reach you're goal why not?

You do have the option for a killer who doesn't tunnel you to just miss the skill check if they hooked others in between if you wish to keep your principles.

That's actually a pretty good idea, thank you I'll definitely start doing that.

  • No, it's not op, it's 100% counterable.

    Survivor main btw

  • Mine was also spine chill but for a different reason.

I began relying on Spine Chill for everything. And I never properly learned to counter stealth killers by listening for the sound ques(myers breathing, Ghostface's obnoxious flapping noises)

The result was supriseing. It didn't take long to adapt, and I feel like I've improved since taking the Perk off. I'm not saying using the Perk makes you a bad player, however it feels redundant after you learn to counter killers without it

  • Reverse boosting(Going afk to purposefully derank) Is something a friend of mine does constantly. He's told me it's the most fun he's had in DBD. But he's the kind of guy that only cares about his own fun even if it means others don't have fun.

There is a hug downside to reverse boosting apparently, even if you're a rank 20 you'll always get atleast 1 purple/red rank player. Similar to how a purple rank like me always get red rank sweat squads. And since he's stomping nooobs all the time, when he does go up against a better player he struggles alot.

If you still see this as an issue you actually don't have too, and I'll tell you why.

When the new MMR comes in (bloodpoint rewards and stuff) EVERYONE starts at rank 20, so instead of having to deal with 1 red rank he'd have to deal with a second in most cases, sometimes a third.

That's quite a QOL upgrade if you ask me, no more reverse boosting for killers. If they still try after the update they'll probably bump in to red ranks trying to climb, especially during week 1

  • Not a fan honestly, it looked fine before...

  • I suck at the game so my opinion is redundant. I'll just stick to unfunny spirit jokes

  • This happened last week actually.

Was just hoping for a non toxic DBD sesh, unlike the day before, different story.

I join a lobby, shortly after another grouo joins, Its a SWF sweat squad. I prepare myself as these kinds of matches go one of two ways...

I suddenly hear a "Ding" a message, turns out its the Killer player. They said this.

"1k Hours? You do know I'm going to destroy you right?"

Now I'll be real, when it comes to Video games I'm below average, even after clicking in a good amount of time (ik 1k hours isn't that much in dbd, but say in a game like OW I had too many hours)

I retaliated," Maybe you will maybe you won't. Good luck."

The whole match was the exact opposite of what I expected, usually I only go against Killers that are very experienced. But the match was, well easy. I won all my chases bar 1(he facecamped me after it) and got maxed objective but not altruism(still an OK score, had 29k)

The best part was the end, he was facecamping me, however my team had Bt and saved me, he was about to catch me when I activated my trump card, ultra instinct. I 360'd out of desperation, and it worked. He did hit me after, however it was at the exit and I got out. My team swiftly followed. After the match, well I'll try relay it.

    Her: [BAD WORD]

Me: gg, those were some fun chases.

Her: Imagine having to rely on cruth perks to win, you can't win without your precious DS.

    Me: If you say so

Her: No I don't "say" so sweetie, it's fact written in stone. But keep masking your delusions. Dosent change the facts.

Me: Cool cool, well gg nice playing you.

She sent me another message but I ignored it. OK what's so satisfying about this to me?

Well I've never wanted to be the best at games, just good enough to defend myself when conflicts like this happen. I took one last look at the board. Oh...did I mention my brightly clothed Jake was perk less?

  • It would be better to pity these players then scold them. Just because they play in a manner you seem "Boring" or "Toxic" dosent mean the character needs thd boot

  • Cheryl, Jake and anybody that's clearly a newer player.

  • Every one be complaining about Unbreakable M&DS, Ruin and Undying but we're forgetting Clowns godly belly which is the main issue we should care about!

    #JusticeForClown

  • You got this! Good luck friend:)

  • I'd like to see a small buff to this which let's the Killer know before hand which totem is which, if its Undying run like hell over there, if its Undying...meh

As for the lazy gameplay, if you feel attacked at what OP said then bring Detective's Hunch, you're welcome

  • Happy to help any way I can:)

Spine chill is a great perk for starting off, it helps you know when stealth killers are coming your way, trumping they're stealth completely. If I might make a suggestion? Spine Chill is a great perk, however I recommend you try afew games without it. When you feel ready of course. Every killer not just stealth has atleast one way of telling you they're near. Afew examples being

    Michael: Heavy Breathing, piano keys

GhostFace: Footsteps and flapping type noises.(From those things on his coat.) or if an ally becomes exposed(or even you...)

Pig: A roar before she attacks. Jigsaw boxes in the environment.

Wraith: "Gurgleing" type noises and a silhouette

And others, you'll learn the sound cues as you go.

And personally I'd put Deja vu up there in terms of underrated perks. It can prevent you're team from getting 3 gened, which causes alot of defeats especially in solo que.

Yeah braking from DBD at times is a smart move, I love this game but there are times where it gets so stressful and annoying that I can't bring myself to play it. Brakes do wonders and like I said, when you cone back after clearing yourself you may just find yourself doing better after.

  • Probably just me, but I don't find this unfun to vs at all. I just bring Detective's Hunch and in most cases the combo is out in afew minutes. Leaving the Killer with 2 perks. Bad aboom done free escape in some games.

But If you'd like to talk about ubfun build we can talk about DS and Unbreakable:)

  • I think I have afew tips to help you rank up. I'm a solo player at red ranks. I'm not the best player but I think these tips will aid you

Spilt up and do gens, I know this gives you less objective points however a large part of that is "refunded" by hitting great skill checks and escapeing. Besides the Killer can't be in 3 places at once.

Learn the maps, because you're new don't focus on escapeing the Killer, just try and last as long as you can against them, you have many tools to help with this.

Bring Borrowed time, seriously this perk is a god send and if you activate it, you'll be almost guaranteed a safe unhook. Which is ez points.

State of mind. Look I'll be completely honest, playing Dead By Daylight isn't always a walk in the park, you're going to have stressful moments on both sides. Knowing when to step back and take a break is key for a game like this. You'll find yourself performing better afterwards.

Good luck, hope to see you in the fog.

  • I'm totally for this, he's an anti loop killer so the extra mind game would be nice

    "SeLfCaRe TaKeS ToO LoNg"...

Some guys are so dumb. If another survivor heals you it takes 16 seconds and 2 (!!!) survivors can’t do anything else.

If you selfcare you are ALONE and it takes 32 seconds and another survivor can sit on a gen. So its the same amount of time overall.... if another survivor only takes one second to get to you and heal you it's actually more efficient to selfcare since you can do it immediately.

And you are more versatile if you selfcare because spreading out is really important and another survivor can finish a gen while you heal yourself.

So stop the self-care hate, it also allows you to make plays (get out of the exit gate if everyone else left or killer is near it, save someone safely, etc) and... well you don't die in one shot and thus stay longer in the game which is the most important part.

I'd love if every of my teammates ran selfcare when I play solo survivor, they most of the time get ambushed by tinkerer or are unaware and die in one hit all the time or crouch in a bush waiting for someone else to show up and heal them... That's wasting time.

Personally I don't have a problem with people running self care, people, can healthemselves whilst I work on a gen? One less problem.

The reason self care gets a bad rap is because many will combine it with UrbanEvasion, Then proceed to crawl around the map only to get caught and self care in corners. Repeating untill they're dead.

Personally I prefer DH, and IS, faster heals and it counters Hex perks:)

  • Solo q Player here! And I play Red Ranks!

Honestly when I see what you describe(teammates being useless and or [BAD WORD] to the Killer, Or if we get snowballed to death with no chance at escape) I'll go in to a plan B.

I make it my goal to Atleast Safety pip instead of trying to escape. It's a last ditch effort if we can't come back. So it dosent happen frequently, however over the past while I've had to resort to it more and more due to suicides and DC's, honestly it would be best to just resort to playing with a SWF

  • Clown, never had a fun match against him even though I win most of the time vsing him.

Spirit aswell, but it depends, Good player? Fun times, Not so good player..erm

  • You too friend

  • Got Any DBD plans or goals to ensure 2021 is your year? Personally I'm going to try and pick up more Killer, just been holding it off because of the stress and toxicity.

    What about yourself?

Edit: Forgot to add plans or goals

  • Listening to a survivor main tell you how to play Killer is like asking a Vegetarian what you should get from KFC. Just ignore them and play for yourself.

  • Happy New Year Everyone!

As for a frustration to vent? Matchmaking has been terrible for a long time and fixing it is a step in the right direction.

  • Because some killer players don't like getting looped for 5 gens😉

  • The wanna get better at handling myself in chases. My friends dub me "the worst DBD player ever" and for good reason. Legion? Ez pz to loop? Well not to me. I don't even want to be a loop god like Noob3. Just good enough to buy my team SOME time. But my average chase is 10 seconds. I consider anything longer than that a god play

  • I was vsing a Twins player on Haddonfeild yesterday. I ran him around a SINGLE TREE FOR 4 GENS. I highly doubt he was that bad.

Also the added Fact that that many of they're kils come from slugging and camping pretty much somes them up...if you run anti slug perks they can only keep you down for 10-20 seconds provided your team aren't useless

  • The fact that Clown isn't in his own "God of beauty" tier is moronic. His drop dead physice and gruff smoker voice are the REAL REASON so many people play this game. I will hear no arguments to the contrary.

  • Neato, what's the exceptions?

I feel you, I tried to main Legion but it be like

"Oh they all spawned separately......on shelter woods...........ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶦˢ ᶠᶦⁿᵉ...."

I hope he gets a fix soon, even a change to deep wound would make him more reliable. But untill then I'll just keep gitin gud against SWF's with meta perks, flashlights and ultra instinct. No pain no gain:(

  • Sorry bub your waifu is sweater less for now. But they'll definitely add it in the store at a later time, not sure when though

  • Personally I've just begun my quest for P3 on everyone. But with a twist. The BP I earn on one specific can only be applied to them. The only person I did have at P3 was Jake as he is my main. I started playing Cheryl because she's cute LUL and got her to p3 just yesterday

I'm now going to do Ash or Quinten next, as I rarely see those two and quinten especially needs some lovin

Oh and for Killers I only have Legion at P3 +(It's a love hate type thing) and Ghostface. Working on Slinger atm

  • Sometimes my Xbox has lag spikes, it's cost me some chases, survivor and killer. THAT makes me go

"ugh guess I just suck yas?" 👁️👄👁️

  • I second this, never met a Demo player that's acted cocky or arrogant, if anything it's the opposite. Honestly I think the reason Demo players are so rare is because as much as people love him, there's better choices especially at red ranks where required gens drop quicker than my self esteem. Purple ranks seem to be where Demo is the most common atleast from my personal experience. Thankfully he dosent seem to be as Rare as PLAG.

Unrelated side note, love the name.

  • I rarely play Killer, so I'm not that good, meaning I play at low ranks (15 atm)

I decided to play a game hoping to farm, however my opponents had other plans. They were a SWF, I'm not sure if it was ps4 or pc but they were definitely on Comms with the way things were going.

Thank the entity I was playing my boy Freddy and not Legion, I managed to pull off a a 32k game against these purple rank players. I had to stop after catching the last guy to savour the moment.

Like I said I rarely play Killer, so when I do and I beat better players. I wanna punch the air in joy and yell "Get in there!!"

  • When he's going to use his power, instead of running the way he wants you to run, Detour to the other side. And stay as far away from him as you can. Doctor is a noob stomper and I use to hate him just as much as you if not more.

You'll get better, but only if you let yourself get better. There's alot of forum members that can give you a better understanding then me on how to properly counter him. I'm sure one of them can help you out

  • I think they'll add a animation to open the hatch, and maybe tweak the add ons. Otzdarva also made a guess that keys can open chests faster, whilst you could just bring a perk it gives the key some more value if it can be used on more than the hatch(and to locate the Killer with addons)

  • I have absolutely zero problems with a killer doing the following

    Tunneling

    Camping

    Slugging

So, I won't DC if I'm the unlucky survivor on the recieveing end of it, the Killer is just trying to win like the Survivors.

That being said I am NOT going to stick around if it's done for any other reason. Sometimes(not all the time) a killer will down me, kill the other survivor, then watch me on the floor untill there's a second left of my bleed out timer.

Or a Survivor that chose to sandbag or sabo the game, constant fast vaulting so the Killer finds us, before urban evasioning away. Or standing at a window or pallet when I'm in a chase.

People disconnecting/suicideing is the worse, I understand that. Hell I'm a solo q player I see it once every three or four games. So I'm going to propose an alternative.

Play in a SWF, it dosent need to be a sweat squad just 1 or two friends, eliminates this problem better than the DC penalty itself.
