Survivor Tip Of The Day!

This might just be a new thread I start adding to.

Tip#1

If a survivor is being tunneled out 1,2,3 and YOU HAVE 0 HOOKS and no injuries, TAKE THE HIT! Your teammate will thank you. It will turn into a very bad situation if you let them die. 3v1's are not fun and are dangerous!

  • Tip#2

Healing under hook if the killer is not in a chase and you do not have specific perks for this you are doing nothing but giving the killer free info on 2 survivors and one is injured.

  • I have an agenda here but please, never help out with Invocations. The sentiment is nice, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. In a perfect world I'd trust you and let you finish the invocation so I can leverage my health state by taking a hit, but fact is you can't trust Randoms to not let go and run off. And more traffic to the basement increases your odds of being followed, and the killer is going to struggle to find people and may wander to the basement. Like, please, I enjoy using No Mither so that's already incredibly sus.

it's the same kind of frustration as people rushing to pick you up with Plot Twist

  • This doesn't accomplish anything. You get injured, the killer continues to go for the death hook survivor and downs them 10 seconds later, and now they're dead and you're injured.

I've seen killers come back to hook even when they're in chase. It's really just one of those things where you have to use your judgement and game sense. Is it one of those killers who prefers to tunnel? Or is it one of those killers who prefers to keep map pressure?

It waste their time and it might just save their life while they can escape. 1 Person still has to do gens to keep progress moving. I am not saying its guarnteed but I have had many situations where all I needed was one hit taken for me or a down if the survivor hasn't even been hooked.

I've been in many situations where id go to the tunnel target as backup, take the hits and a down, and then they go down anyway creating more pressure as the target was killed anyway and im now on the floor next in line, while someone else is now forced to come save me. So i usually just try to take the 1 hit instead of fully going down for them.

    That's generally the best route.

  • To be fair, the community often gives mixed messaging when it comes to tunnelling. Just as many people would prefer team mates smash gens rather than follow them around when being tunnelled. I know if I'm being tunnelled, I would rather my team mates get as much gen progress as possible to make the most of the time I'm buying.

Yeah but I love sitting in the little circle

Its just so much more situational than its given credit for, same with healing under hook. If I know where they are, am already nearby, can insert myself without sandbagging, and am not doing something else important then I will take a hit and run off or maybe take the down for them if the team seems to be in a position to handle the situation that creates or I have a perk that makes it OK.

There are just so many reasons why it equally wouldn't be a good idea, I have no idea where they are, I do know where they are but its cross map, we are at one or two gens left and getting close to popping, something has exposed me… Tips for survivor are so often treated as an always do or don't do thing but the role just isn't as simplistic as these tips treat it.
