This is One of the if not the MAIN reason why survivor gameplay getting out of hand
I recommend this video cause he explains everything perfectly. This needs to be adressed. Survivors are just playing on a autopilot and are NOT punished for their mistakes. while killers are getting punished for playing well, thats not how it should work and Most (not all of them) survivor mains are complaning and ruining the matches for others and being toxic (killers can be toxic as well but they are not as often as they are) Even though i am a killer main, when i want to i play survivor and have an understanding of the gameplay. Survivors needs to think and not pressing a button and get away for free by doing nothing. The only reason i play survivors is because when i am waiting for a killer match. I am long time player and i love this game so much. thanks to this game i love the horror genre and i don"t wanna quit it but this NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Thank you BHVR for reading this.

I really think people who claim this dont play Survivor. Or maybe dont even play Killer, lol.
There is a big difference between a Survivor who is actually good at the game (with and without WoO and/or Sprint Burst) and a Survivor who just follows the yellow Auras. It is very obvious if a Survivor is just following whatever they can see with WoO/Five Moves ahead and those are really not hard to outplay.
If you are struggle with that kind of player, this is a you-problem.
(And honestly, a bad Survivor cannot really make use of DS. Sure, they extend their life by a few seconds, but if you cannot make use of the stun and the bit of distance you gain with DS, you will not cause the Killer any problems)
I agree with this. A lot of these takes come from people who clearly only have real experience on one side.
If you mostly play killer and then play 3 survivor games in low MMR, that does not suddenly make survivor “autopilot”. Same the other way around: if you only play survivor and barely touch killer, you also don’t really know how much your own mistakes matter when you are the only person on your side.
People should actually play both sides for a while before making strong claims. Play a week of solo queue survivor. Play 50+ games. Then play killer for a while too. Get to the point where the matches actually reflect your level, and then talk about balance.
Solo queue especially is not comparable to SWF. You can play very well individually and still lose because one teammate goes down in 15 seconds, gives up, refuses to do gens, or gets hard tunneled out early while not running any antitunnel perks. That is not “autopilot”. That is the reality of a 4v1 team game where one weak link can completely break the balance of the match.
So when people say survivor is easy mode after barely playing it properly, I honestly cannot take that seriously.
It sounds like flat earth logic: forming a strong opinion from a tiny sample size and then ignoring everything that does not fit it.
Play both sides properly, especially solo queue, then the discussion becomes a lot more honest.
Well you're a killer main complaining and trying to cripple the side that has less than a 40% win rate across experience levels. And you are not a rarity around here. As for toxicity, you've fully admitted to playing killer more and face four times the individuals as killer than survivor (as your opponent), obviously you'll have that perception. Killers are not this weird race of people that are inherently less toxic than survivors.
Addressing your video — This whole 'autopilot' spiel is complete cope. Only in this game can a consistent 70% win rate (for people who actually get decent at killer) complain that the other side has it so easy that they can consistently turn off their brains. This is diabolically nanners to me. I came back less than a week again and without having some sweaty mindset I am up around 75% of my games being 3k+. And I'm not good, and I'm learning a new killer (Ghoul, though to be fair this is a very strong killer).
I have two theories as to why these sorts of videos are made:
1. They know their audience and know they can turn a mild and fleeting frustration into content they'll like. You see this often in very killer-oriented content creators who clearly exaggerate some issues while conveniently overlooking the myriad of things they are using for easy wins.
2. They're not as good as they think they are. See, you want to know what true autopilot is? Beginner killer vs. Beginner survivors. You're going to win so much it's actually intoxicating. And I am CONVINCED that because of matchmaking and these highs, people have an overinflated sense of their skill level. Surely, after watching all these Hens and Otz videos, they should be steamrolling these super toxic SWF's. Then they cry to high heavens because they encounter people either at their level or higher.
It's often times both, with these super killer-main lot also suffering from a severe skill issue.
This is why I defer to someone like Hens when it comes to more general insights on both sides as he's the sort of player that plays both, dabbles with public games but also competitive, and always tries to understand the core issues at play. While also just being way better at the game than most of these other creators.
Anyway, that was my ramble as I return to this game. It's been fun so far.
PS: Jason is perhaps the closest thing to an autopilot killer currently. Even mediocre killer players are capable of punching up with this character. That said, I'll never actually say it's 'autopilot'. But it's close.
Why does this post smell like under 1k hours, doesn't play both sides and needs their opinion from a CC lol
Survivors and Killers need to work for their wins, the game doesn't just hand it to them. So what about those players who are getting win streaks/challenges done? Maybe you're not as good as killer as you think you are lol… Like I eat dirt sometimes coz I'm not the best Unknown player but I know I ain't playing for a wendy's gift card.
Sprint Burst can be annoying, but it's far from the be all and end all, maybe it's because I play ranged killers and I can punish bad positioning/hold W'ing with a good shot.
But also if sprint burst cant exist, why can high mobility killers? The game would be boring if we took the toys from each side. I'm still of the opinion old dead hard is fine, I prefer'd facing it over the current one, it interacts with lag awfully (survivor makes the downed scream and plays the animation sometimes and teleports away when the server validates it).
actually i have 9 000 almost 10 000k hours
You could act like it then, you should know better to make such extreme takes lmao
Hello. Let me just say. Now that i am looking on what i typed. So i am sorry. I was kinda in a rush so didn"t looked at it that much but thats ok cause people make mistakes, thats why we learn from them. Just to clarify i do play both sides (yes killers slightly more then survivors but i still play them) and when i am playing a game against someone I wanna have fun with it all of us want to have fun. with the unique builds and stuff. But right now with the autopilot and unhealthy perks like sprint burst, vigil, lithe, self preservtion ( should be reverted), hyperfocus + stakeout ,flip flop when combined with power struggle (cause its a lose lose situation and there is no counterplay), personally i think that shoulder the burden should give them broken instead of exposed cause it literally does nothing. But there are some killers perks that needs changes as well cause some of them are unhealthy like remember me, coulorophobia + forced hessitation (slugging build), hex noed, maybe lightborn but personally i am not so sure., should be changed cause it isn"t about strenght of the perks but by how they are healthy for the game. Also someone mentioned that jason is almost autopilot. let me just say no he is not he has skill like the only killers i can think of right now that are on a autopilot are krasue and nurse (nurse only with aura build and because of it there is no skill cause she ignores literally EVERYTHING.) even ghoul right now has more skill then nurse she needs to be reworked. Thats everything at the moment if there is anything that i missed let me know.
so in short this is my opinion and i stand by it thank you for understanding
You're fine, I speak emotionally too on here so I get it (I don't mean angry or w/e, more like going with the vibe typing first thing that comes to mind). Sometimes you just get sick of facing certain things and it is valid in itself.
I don't think there is anything wrong that you dislike facing the build, that's understandable. We all have things we don't like. I'll also say sorry coz I was a bit blunt in how I responded too. looool
People will still peddle the idea that “running to yellow” is easy to counter whilst missing (or deliberately ignoring the fact) that pallet density has made this a completely viable play style. It’s a style which allows very average players to last longer in chase than they would have done before the changes. If you have gen efficient teammates, which anyone playing at a normal level should have, then this is a problem.
If you play a killer that has good mobility/lethality you can cope with this, but pallet density + overturned perks is on average difficult to deal with for average and below average characters.
its ok i understand
Agreed only on the point that WoO and now 5 Steps Ahead are extremely unhealthy when it comes to encouraging pre-dropping every pallet with Google Maps the perk. But both sides are getting handheld too much with information when it comes to things like Nowhere To Hide & Lethal Pursuer making killer similarly braindead in terms of tracking and game sense (or Jason's entire kit lol). His overall point is absurdly killer biased considering the killer releases we've had in the last 2 years and how blatantly overtuned they are. Myers rework is the definition of "turning your brain off" killer design. We've had multiple new killers released with AI and/or autoaim in their powers.
