Jason Feels Too Sluggish And Bots Make It More Difficult To Learn
I know I’m probably going to get downvoted for this. But I was trying to learn how to play Jason against bots. And it’s been quite frustrating considering they can see everything I do. I know that’s the point of them. But still would be nice to a difficulty level change for bots. Or at least tone them down a bit.
As Jason, he’s okay and definitely a learning curve. I enjoy the different kills you get with him. Especially the different spikes you can also use with him. What I don’t enjoy about him is that coming out of your power. He feels so sluggish and slow to the point I wish I were faster. Now I know the whole point of his power is make him faster. But I also wish his base speed was a little bit higher.
Only because well when coming out of his power. It can be difficult to know where to get out of. And by the time you catch up. The survivor is on the other side of map. By which I mean sometimes the switching ability doesn’t work very well and can be sticky.
And trying to find survivors with his power is good. But also a pain cause trying to manage to get where to go. Can be a little bit confusing and frustrating in my experience. I also know everyone has different experiences. And that’s fine, I just think that the sluggish feel while coming of out his power. That Jason has needs to be fixed as well as the bots in my opinion.

Honestly the best thing you need to know with Jason is….Can you hit your shots with his spears? If you have good aim..You will do great.
Hitting your shots is great, but honestly if you can't figure it out just spam your mobility and use hex:ruin
Until they cleanse your hex - ruin. Then what?
Then hope they don't cleanse it a second time after undying
Perks only get you so far. Good survivors will cleanse them right up. I know I do. I waste no time. You gotta be able to hit your shots with him for sure.
Try using Omnipresent Evil like a off brand Wraith. Go invis when you chuck a spear, grab a new one and then tp to a location that cuts off the survivor.
When you tp, you block that location for a few seconds afterwards, or it allows you to reposition and zone the survivor better.
I tried custom first against bots, killed all the bots, then played a round against players, got the adept achievement first try. I also managed to hit with the spear most of the time.
I was watching a video on how the animations for him were all changed from the ptb since most were saying the animations were stiff. And i notice in the part where hes just throwing at a tree, the very tip of the spear when aiming, is like an iron sight. It will fly there. So rather than guessing where the middle of the screen was like huntress, id point the tip on the survivor and throw, and it would hit quite often.
As a xeno main, jason's jumpscares are much better then xeno's tunnels as most survivors are staring right at the tunnel, watch you crawl out and alredy make it to a window or other pallet etc, or even pre run from the turrets beeping. But jason just pops out from either windows or pallets, at what seems like a faster animation allowing you to start attacking very quickly. This gives survivors less reaction time as they will hear the jumpscare but have to figure out if you came from the pallet to the left or the window behind them etc and by then you can alredy swing (if you came out from the closest side).
Saw on another post that if you manage to jumpscare someone with the killer instinct you get a very long haste buff, much longer than your power's cooldown, which can be used to keep you moving faster in a chase if you manage to use it to cut someone off or just catch up or switch targets.
Ill admit bots were hard to hit as they are very dodgey once you start aiming, but i suppose that helps with practicing against players trying to dodge your shots as well. Bots are particularly annoying to practice with non antiloop killers like chucky. But if the bots couldn't loop at all they might as well not exist other than to help people slugged or on hooks which they are kind of afraid to do.
Just place the tip of the spear on the back of the survivor when you are throwing it. That is where it about hits but depends of course of the distanse of the target it might be little bit off center if too close.
