Onryo is soooooooo boring to vs now.

Does anyone actually enjoy playing vs her atm?

I love her aesthetics/sound design but goodness its like playing vs the same person every game because of the cookiecutter build everyone is using.

  • It’s been less than a week since she was released. If there are new builds, they will probably take some time to surface.

In the meantime, just beeline to a tv once they turn on at the start of the game and grab a tape. Hold on to the tape until you either get hit. Repeat process again after. Once you get to 4 stacks, you can start dropping off your tape and repeat holding on to tapes again.

  • She's become another example of braindead and unfair design, where the things needed to counter her are much more difficult than what the killer needs to do to play her.

She can literally spam the teleport button and still win against the majority of players now. The "grab a tape at start" thing works if every single player does it, but in soloQ you'll often have a teammate that messes up, so you end up 3v1 after 2 minutes, without having seen the killer once. Great design BHVR!

I think her killrate must be the highest it's ever been. The worst is on indoor maps, it's literally impossible to beat her there. You have to traverse the map to get TVs, but at the same time you keep getting hit at random corners if you try. I think everyone who has faced stealth killers on RPD knows how much these maps are a pain, but now imagine that the killer in question keeps teleporting every 15 sec at different locations, while at the same time having a power that forces survivors to traverse the map...

So.....she basically switch killer and survivor around?

  • My latest experiences with her are we're entering a magic period post-update where survivors' actual knowledge on how to play against her updated condemned mechanics is higher than the killers estimation of how much they know. It's certainly going to be short lived but hey - the longer a Sadako thinks spamming teleport will work by itself while a group of survivors carry more tapes around than your ill fated local Blockbuster the better. She felt downright oppressive on day 1.

One tricky bit I have run into is finding active TVs to get a tape from in the first place. When the whole team knows what's up it can be hard finding ones that haven't been disabled by a teleport or by someone already grabbing a tape without doing a lap around the map.

Funny is if you for example made it that survivors can see aura of active TVs, she would go back to hell.

Simply because it would make her counter play easy to do and it shuts her down a lot.

I think it is quite likely what they are going to do, but I guess it's better than nerf her cooldowns etc. That could result simply in being unenjoyable for both sides.

I think they could make the auras of TVs switched on appear to Survivors when they are at 2/3 Condemned stacks. That would make her basekit slightly less oppressive

Currently TV auras are revealed to Survivors holding tapes when they are close by. Perhaps that addon that inflicts Blindness to Survivors holding tapes at 4 Condemned stacks could be buffed to hide the auras of tvs at 4 stacks too. That way Survivors are incentivized to pick up tapes early on if that addon is in play.

Problem is that's kinda too late.

To counter it you need them asap.

If you get to 2 condemn stacks, get tape and she hit you, then you are at 4. From that is not really hard to make sure you never get a tape ever again and just force Mori.
