Since Behavior clearly wants to have another successful game besides DBD....

Why not make it a DBD game that isn't DBD?

Bear with me. I propose.......a DBD 2D fighting game in the vain of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter.

DBD has plenty of original killers, each with loads of personality and a unique power. I could easily see a 2D fighting game where the killers duke it out. If built with enough quality, it could even see tournament play at EVO. Plus, plenty of maps in the Entity's realm would make great fighting game stages.

You could even tie it into DBD's overall lore. We could say that the killers fight each other and hone their skills out of boredom while waiting for their next trial to start.

Thoughts?

Defo has spin off potential :)

  • Fighting games aren't really my thing so I probably wouldn't play it. Not at all against the idea though, there definitely is potential for some really cool stuff there, and I have friends who play DBD and like fighting games, I bet they'd get something out of it.

  • Yes please.

  • I would love for the franchise to widen their genres. Fighting games could be cool, but actually what I'd like is a narrative game like the Dark Pictures Anthology or TTG series.

Oh, the money I would pay to see TellTale Games make DBD prequel games!

  • Are you interested in the DBD Lore expanded upon (How DBD interconnects itself)? Or interested in the facsimiles of characters put into new situations? (Which one takes precedence?)

Arguably one could be achieved simply by doing the same thing that BHVR does with DBD, extending cross-IP character integration. Such as The Trapper being added to Mortal Combat.

Right? I've always thought DbD has very good material to create a few stories like that. And TTG were brilliant in doing so. Most of their games are masterpieces. But honestly, as much as I'd like it, I don't think it will ever happen. 😭
