Do Blindness effect need buffs?
There is a lot of people saying that Blindness is a terrible status effect. How can you buff Blindness and why?

If blindness were to get a buff, I would like to see it remove the killer's red stain from the blind survivor. It would give it a bit of power in a chase.
Either remove the killers red stain or hide the survivor hud entirely. It needs a buff regardless.
I'd like to see it hide the Red Stain.
Hiding the HUD just doubles down on Solo Q
I think Blindness is very underrated tbh.
Wouldn't mind it if it also hid the killers red light
Yes, but the very common suggestion of making it hide the HUD action indicators is not a good idea.
I was onboard with the HUD hiding, but @Pulsar makes a good point about the Solo Queue aspect.
Blindness is unfortunately just one of those things that will always disproportionately screw Solos. And right now the Solo experience is beyond miserable. I played nothing but Survivor last night for six hours. We only got all 5 gens done three times and I only escaped once.
Adding a Blind=No HUD aspect would cause perks like Fearmonger to just destroy Solo.
I'm sorry you had to go through that :(
I don't like to doompost, but if these changes go through, Solo might be getting a LOT worse
I think you are right. And I think the reason why is because the things that are nerfing killers are more a high skill / MMR problem and the things nerfing survivors are a low skill / MMR problem.
In other words, at the top this is crushing killers more and at the bottom this is crushing survivors more. I am not looking forward to the laughable 86 second Mangled Self-Care in the corner. That's 4 seconds less than a gen.
Have it obscure the hud in addition to the aura effect. Currently blindness feels like a minor inconvenience and easily ignored unless using an aura centric build.
That's very interesting but wouldn't hiding the red stain negatively impact Solo Q more since Blindness already has a lot going on versus solo players with aura perks such as bond, kindred, etc?
What if it actually darkened your screen a little or added a vignette or something? I've definitely had times in chases where I screwed up because the darkness from late stage deep wound made it hard to see, so it could be pretty effective.
Hiding the red stain would effect everyone equally for the most part. A SWF could still the same info found on the HUD whereas it's much harder for a SWF to share the same info the red stain gives a player in chase.
