What power would the monsters from The Village have?

It's not a very popular opinion, but I would love if the monsters "Those We Do Not Speak Of" from M. Night's The Village were added to DBD, maybe under a name like "The Costume" or something. At the very least, it would be cool to get a skin of them for Blight or Dredge.

Regardless, were Behavior to release a Village chapter, how would you design the creature's power? I figured that since red and blood are a prominent part of the film that blood would factor into the power, but I'm not sure how you'd distinguish it enough from the Oni's power. I did make these perk ideas for the Costume and the Survivor, Lucius Hunt:

---

The Costume:

"The Bad Color" - Injured survivors leave twice as big pools of blood and drop them at a greater rate. Blood of a hit survivor is greatly highlighted for you for 30/45/60 seconds.

"It Is Only Illusion" - After kicking a generator, the perk activates. Press the activate ability to put your terror radius on the most recently kicked generator for 5/7.5/10 seconds. Perk has a cool down of 60/55/50 seconds.

Not sure what I'd do for a thematic third perk.

Survivor - Lucius Hunt

"I Cannot Bear It" - Working on a generator while injured heals you equal to 50%/60%/75% normal healing speed.

"Warning Bells" - When you unhook a survivor, you can see the killer's aura for the next 5/10/15 seconds.

"Naive Courage" - Perform all actions 3/6/9% faster until your first time being hooked.

----

What do you think about these perks? And for anyone who has seen The Village, how would you design a power around the killer?

  • The very nature of the antagonists in The Village would make it hard to translate them into a killer, if my memory serves me well.

That being said, I really like your "It is Only Illusion" idea. The Bad Color I'm not keen on, it's just a better Bloodhound.

Naive courage would be too OP in my opinion. I Cannot Bear It sounds strong, I like it. Warning Bells I'm not too fond of, as Guardian already does this well enough.

But yeah, I have no idea of a killer power fitting the antagonists.

(Also, and I get why you didn't make her a survivor, but I think it's a bit undermining the main character to not make her a survivor, instead putting a rather background-ish character that's more bark than bite)

It wouldn't... all the monster was is a thing to keep people in the village and not know about the outside world. It really wasmt ment as a Killer at all just a deterrent.

Overall it wouldn't make story sense for The Entity to chose it since there was no malice behind it.

  • What a random post. I love the village, the creatures genuinely spooked the hell out of me as a kid. Horribly ruined when there big secret was revealed ๐Ÿ˜•

Can't think of any perks for them, but its a very simple chapter to add albeit an underwhelming one. Village map, two obvious survivors and a frightening looking killer who wasn't actually a killer, but a deterrent.

    Yeah that's what I thought.

Though to be fair the Entity took killers with no malice before.

But yeah in this case, probs wouldn't make sense.
