My ping drastically improved with the dedicated servers

my wifi likes to take a dump 24/7 from 180 ping to 1100 ping, i get called a lag switcher as killer and useless as survivor since i lag like CRAZY, but every since the servers i keep experiencing 50 to 120 ping which is a dream tbh, thx devs

    They're also live on PC for testing as of yesterday

    It seems some pc players are able to test the dedicated servers live.

    If its was your wifi you would still have the issues. Perhaps your PC is unable to host killer lobbies?

    i'm actually very unsure how my ping improved, my wifi in general is bad but for some reason the dedicated servers reduced my ping dramatically, can't complain i guess xd

    on a side note they could use some more polishing, it's nearly impossible to play plague with her corrupt purge since it can't hit anything, and the gen/pallet kicking animation has this weird stutter everytime it begins

    Understood. But remember thats your ping to the server. Before it was the survivor's pings to you.

    yes the dedicated servers are the best

    Please keep in mind that dedicated servers don't actually decrease ping between players. It only judges your distance from you to the server itself. In actuality, a lot of back and forth checks are made in order to confirm changes in the game state like a hit on a survivor, which is why you see a bunch of weird things like grabs not happening with the dedicated servers. It adds another link in the chain, so instead of the signals going directly from you to the survivor, they need to pass through the server. The only thing servers can provide is consistency to some degree.
