Ruin needs a buff.

Ruin needs a buff. As a surv, some ignore hex totems now, survs can work through it, they work through ruin, small game it is fine so what is the point in killers running it? slows down a game? but does it? killers, some NEED for the game to slow down a little esp how long it takes trapper to look and set his traps, but when it's gone instantly it is a waste of a perk, saying this from both a point of view, it feels meh now.

  • A while ago you said that ruin is op on billy. Do you still think that?

  • Ruin does not need a buff.

  • No, i said why does billy who is in my opinion OP run ruin? ruin is meant to SLOW down a game, who is the fastest fricken one in the game, why would he need ruin? seriously? that was THE point @Shaped

  • People should just stop using Ruin and switch to PGTW. Way better than Ruin. And you dont have to care for any Totem to protect, just chase people and patrol Gens, like it should be.

  • Many killers patrol the totems, so so many end up gen rushing a killer of gens, cos he is too focused on protecting it, maybe a two ruin totem? idk but it feels too easy when i know and others figure it is a hex ruin, even NOED, just cleanse all dull totems, so killers can have 2 perks wasted.

Ruin should work as Haunted Ground and have 60s timer after totem is gone. I suggested it several times but sadly got no answer. Ruin is not even that strong as Haunted Grounds can be.

What do you think about this idea @Peanits ?

Hex perks are a gamble. You take ruin and from the get go you know it might survive the entire game or get destroyed in the first minutes of the match.

If you want more consistent alternatives to ruin you might want to take a look at corrupt intervention or pgtw. I personally run corrupt intervention on trap killers and setup around the 4 generators that are not blocked since my presence alone makes survivors unable to do gens, giving me free setup time without losing a lot of gen progress. This works well on small maps but on larger ones it can get messy if the blocked generators are in a bad spot.

Pgtw on the other hand works well with killers that don't need to setup but just need to keep up momentum and keep hooking survivors. With the recent buff it also makes it way easier to get a kick on gens.

You can also just use perks in general that speed up your game (brutal strength, enduring, spirit fury) or perks that slow down the survivors game (sloppy butcher, thanatophobia).

  • Yes you can also use many other perks, but then what is the point of SOME perks then?
