An easy way to fix the obsession perks

1) If the killer has nonobsession perk then non of the survivors will be obsession and if they have an obsession perk/s then they will have the worst stats. For example, DS will have 20-30 sec timer to activate MoM need 4-5 hits...

2) If the killer has nonobsession perk then non of the obsession perk that survivors have will work.

Comments

  • Both of them are bad ideas, MoM only needs a nerf, DS is fine.

  • I don't think survivor perks should be useless just because the killer doesn't have one of ..... what, 5 perks? 6 maybe?

  • @Poweas , @ClogWench ok what is the downside to be the obsession ? Why obession perks give so much and ask so little back ?

The only two survivor ones we should consider are MoM and DS. DS is in a good place right now. MoM is the only one I feel needs a change. Which means a change to all obsession perks would be the wrong direction. The big downside is the risk that the killer will have an obsession perk, which is usually worst for the obsession in most instances.

Only when he/she run Dying Light or remember me every other perks force it him to the go of the obsession

  • What @ClogWench said. You just want easier games @DarkGGhost, you're not even considering the survivors side of things. Plus, a perk like STBFL punishes obsessions because they get neglected and get no chaser emblem.

Missing the point. There's no reason to make a change to the obsession concept overall

And leave them to do gens save hook and in the end escape so you lose 1 of 4 things you can do and win the other 3 so bad.

That's assuming they live to escape. Plus Rancor is directly bad for the obsession

Then Devs should remove the obsession from every survivor perk after all the killer can do ######### about that and the survivors lose nothing. My problem is the name those perk obsession like is bad to be the obsession in this game especially when the killer run non of ther obsession perks.

  • Some obsession perks work differently based on if you're the obsession or not. Mettle of Man should arguably be one of those I'll agree, but your suggestion for them removing the obsession concept is still pointless

Look if the killer run rancor the obsession will know it the moment the exit power up so he/she only need to hide so if obsession dies from rancor that is a mistake from the survivor side.

And it negatively impacts them because they have to be stealthy. They can't tank hits for last minute saves, they can't face the killer at all endgame. That's a negative impact. Plus sometimes the last gen pops while you're in a chase already

Let's say you right what will be the best action to minimaze the damage from all th obsession perk survivor have, will give a duff to the obession will use my first idea what ?

You play survivors you supposed to fear the killer and play stealthy, you have to accept that you can save all of your friends like killers accept they can't kill all the survivors if you are in chase already is your mistake.

"All the obsession perks survivors have" oh get over it, it's one. Only one is a problem here and it's MoM. That doesn't warrant an overhaul to the obsession concept.

DS is weak if you use at the start of the game and a lot stronger ( from the old one) in the midgame/endgame.

OoO can be used from SWF and give even more advance to the survivors and if you have a problem hide for same second in the lockers.

    Only Sole Survivor is bad.

So no the problem is not only the MoM.

DS is balanced right now, probably the best place it's ever been. And OoO let's the killer see the obsession as well which is a hefty downside. Doesn't make it a bad perk, but it's one with a drawback. Once again, there's no purpose to removing the concept of the obsession from these perks and nothing you've said so far has supported your suggestion at all.

DS only SEEMS better late game, because more people are forced to save it until then. They're not all going off on gens 1 and 2.

@Carpemortum @ClogWench how about my ather idea ?

I dont mind the first one. Would need some testing. But the concept of them not being obsessed so you dont have the full effect seems somewhat more fair. Would want to see it in use to see how it affects different builds/perks and whatnot.

A point was always that 4 ds is ridiculous. Not being the obsession has always had a drawback there.

But it seems MoM is more hated than obsessions altogether. Which baffles me as its less useable than DH. Hell I bought Ash, got adept and havent used it since.

Also bad, still punishes survivors because the killer didn't bring one of a small handful of perks. Literally the only thing that needs a change is MoM specifically.

And how this idea punishes survivors? they still can use they perks just no 100 % power.

Why should a survivor be punished with a weak iteration of their perk because of something out of their control? The problem isn't the obsession aspect, it's just MoM

The obsession perks ( survivors side ) have low risk and reward the devs by punting the obsession mechanic they think is a drawback for the perk. The obsessions perks ask for nothing and give to much. The new DC even with the new drawback it's powerful and even when is not in place can create mind game for no reason. The OoO it's very good perks for survivors than know how to loop. So when thee are no limit or the limit are low same perks become powerful.

The downside is the risk of being targeted more. DS is balanced, OoO has a huge drawback and does not come interesting play once you're in a chase. Only mettle of man needs alteration.

By what like a say ther are only 2 obsessions perk and most killer don't use them and biseds when a survivor is the obsession it give too much info like when he.she be chasing by the killer.
