[Concept Idea] The Entity's Crucible: Item & Add-on Recycling System
The Core Idea
Introduce a new interactive machine or Bloodweb feature called The Entity's Crucible (or "The Blood Roulette"). This mechanic allows players to trade in unwanted items or add-ons in exchange for a random new one.
How It Works
- The Input: Players select exactly 4 items or item add-ons from their inventory to sacrifice.
- The Process: The machine consumes the 4 selected items and spins a roulette wheel.
- The Output: The player receives 1 random item or add-on in return.
Suggested Balance & Mechanics
To prevent abuse while keeping the system rewarding, here are a few potential rules:
- Role Locked: Survivor items/add-ons only trade for Survivor gear. Killer add-ons only trade for Killer add-ons (either for that specific Killer, or a random Killer's pool).
- Rarity Scaling:
- Option A (Strict): The outcome matches the average rarity of the sacrificed items.
- Option B (Luck-based): Putting in higher-rarity items increases the percentage chance of receiving a Rare, Very Rare, or Ultra Rare item.
- Bloodpoint Alternative: This gives players a massive quality-of-life update by letting them clean out hundreds of brown/yellow add-ons they never use on characters they've leveled up.
Why This Benefits the Game
- Reduces Inventory Clutter: Long-time players have thousands of items they will never use. This cleans up the inventory UI.
- Improves the Bloodweb Economy: Players won't feel like they "wasted" Bloodpoints buying mandatory nodes in the Bloodweb just to level up a character.
- Encourages Variety: Getting a random high-tier item might encourage players to try out new builds or playstyles they usually avoid.
