Jason's Scrap piles

So one of gripes of playing against Jason's is he's always able to quickly reload from his plentiful spots of piles and hooks. There's also nothing Unique for survivors to do against Jason besides crouching to avoid his detection.

So what if to give survivors some counterplay against him what if Survivors could temporarily interact and destroy scrap piles?

What do you think?

  • I'd take it. Quite frankly I find myself reloading at hooks more than piles anyway, as hook spawn logic tends to have them conveniently near every major loop.

  • I dont think that this is the best idea to change the fact that he has his spears available basically every time. It is true that I also thought that it is odd that Survivors cannot interact with the scrap piles, especially because they are so common on the maps. And it is also true that currently Jason does not really have much of a penalty for missing, you can dodge multiple spears and he does not really feel punished for it.

But I think the bigger issue is that he can also reload on Hooks. You have quite a bunch of scrap piles and yet he can also reload on Hooks. And there are A LOT of Hooks on the maps, mainly because Killers should be able to hook Survivors (which is a good thing), but if you add in a power which interacts with those hooks, I think it becomes too much. IMO there should be a Cooldown on Reloads on Hooks, which then can be shortened when using Omnipresent Evil. This would make him having his spear available less frequently.

For your idea of tinkering with the scrap piles, I think it is not really possible to add a timesink against Jason. Currently games against him are very slow, since you have to interrupt repairs and have to crouch a lot when he is in Omnipresent Evil, adding a timesink by interaction with the piles is probably too much. Plus it might not even be useful, since there are so many Hooks around to reload as well.

  • His power anyway reloads the piles everytime he activates it so don't see what the point would be to sabo them by how he currently works.

Well the point is that if a Survivor sabos them it wouldn't be reloaded by Jason's power until the fixed time the sabos end

Still as others said here hooks are usually not that far to reload from those instead. It does not take that much time to use his power go get a hook and appear again near the chased survivor

    Good.

I dont think its good to be near any resource (window/pallet) when he is using his power omnipresent because thats where he can spawn from thats like camping tv against onryo or locker against dreadge.

Its good to be in open area only tricky part can be places where pallet spawned and got broken but that isnt place where survivors tun to safety in first place. Against him going into unsafe are from respurces is actualy good when he is using omnipresent unless its corner of the map more like go to open area near centre of the map.

I did not say anything of where survivor should be just noted that he can easily use his power to go get a spike and rejoin the chase. Survivors don't have that many dead zones where they can prevent you to get decently close. I have run into maybe one or two in some maps so they are quite rare.
