In patches before 9.4.0, doing a pallet save from behind was very easy because the prompt to drop the pallet appeared, whereas in patch 9.4.1 it can no longer be done, is this a bug from patch 9.4.1 ?

It's buggy since pallet density. But tbh pallet saves and flashlight saves should be completely removed from the game.
