Increasing amounts of FOMO is concerning

The game has had limited time cosmetics since the Legacy cosmetics, had some given out to avert FOMO, and now has regular FOMO in the form of The Rift, the Prime rewards, AND now limited-time-only cash only purchases. Pressuring people to have to devote more money and more of their spare time to playing the game. It's very disappointing to see what is basically a museum to horror in video game form start pressuring them through the metaphorical gift shop.

  • As long as it stays to cosmetics I couldn't care less personally.

  • It's unfortunate but it's not as big of a deal as some people here make it out to be.

Like it or not FOMO will always be a part of bussiness. Discount and sales are also FOMO and a lot more effective.

You'd be hard pressed to find a gamer who doesn't have atleast one game on their steam page that they bought during steam sales and never actually installed.

You'd be surprised how many people buy clothes during sales and wear them at most once.

If you hate FOMO you have to hate discounts too cause that preys on people with bad spending habbits way more then exclusive cosmetics will.

It has been proven that the real way to show your dissatisfaction with corparations is to speak with your wallet.

Even recently with the D&D OGL disaster where they on mass unsubscribed forcing the company to go back on their bad practises

If you can't rile up the community to do this to an extent that the company can feel it you have to ask yourself if it really is such a pressing concern or if you make it bigger in your head then it actually is.

  • The cosmetics weren’t giving out to necessarily avoid FOMO. The were given out to avoid account selling for insane prices

FOMO does suck but sadly I doubt it’s going anywhere. They would only be doing it if it has an impact on sales numbers so considering they keep doing it it must be working
