Healing and Slowdown are Toxic to the Game

This is a preaching to the choir when I say that the worst parts of both sides at the moment are the Healing and Regression metas that the Survivors and Killers have been adopting far too frequently.

These are extremely toxic for the game and need to be addressed soon. If not, this problem will continue to develop into something worse and worse as time goes on. There are basically several parts to each problem that make these such an egregious issue:

  • Survivors have the ability to significantly increase their healing output with Med-Kits and their add-ons, as well as modify healing speed with Perks--some of which have no downsides.
  • Killers have the ability to hold games hostage with Perks and Power combinations. This is especially prominent when using Eruption and Overcharge.

You know how this could easily be solved? Well, the following would very handily solve it:

  • Med-Kits: Reduced self-healing speed for every other med-kit to 75% of the base heal speed.
  • Emergency Med-Kit: Reduced self-healing speed to +25%
  • Butterfly Tape: Reduced healing speed bonus to 3%
  • Self-Adherent Wrap: Removed the charge increase from the add-on.
  • Needle & Thread: Reduced healing speed bonus to 8%.
  • Medical Scissors: Reduced healing speed bonus to 8%. Add-on is now a Rare add-on.
  • Surgical Suture: Reduced healing speed bonus to 10%.
  • Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe: Is no longer affected by positive healing speed modifiers.
  • Boon: Circle of Healing: Now has a cooldown of 120 seconds if snuffed by the Killer. No longer affects Med-Kit healing.
  • Botany Knowledge: No longer reduces the efficiency of Med-Kits. However, no longer affects self-healing.
  • Call of Brine: Effect duration reduced to 30 seconds.
  • Dead Man's Switch: Effect deactivates prematurely on a Generator if 2 Good skill checks are succeeded, or 1 Great skill check is succeeded.
  • Dying Light: No longer affects repair speed. Tier effects now increased to 3%/4%/5% on all other action speeds.
  • Eruption: Incapacitated status effect and cooldown are removed. Eruption now applies an aura reveal for 6 seconds, and its tiers affect the regression.
  • Overcharge: Minimum regression speed increased to base speed (100%).
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: Regression effect reduced to 6%/9%/12%. Screaming effect only occurs to Survivors currently injured.
  • Thanatophobia: No longer affects repair speed. Now affects healing speed. Original 6.1.0 values re-instated.

Comments

  • Your change to CoH is insignificant but you are destroying gen regression.

The new meta for survivors would be CoH and full lobby of toolbox + genrush perks. Very, very boring to play as and against.

As or killers, the new meta would be, end game and genblock perks with deadlock, corrupt, no way out, and noed with heavy tunneling and facecamping. Because you can’t defend generators, you can only defend hooks and secure kills. Very boring for killers and a great source of frustration and toxicity for survivors.

  • OC one of strongest regression perk would actually get buff. No thank you. Also all self-heals nerfed. Not a fan. IMO way more punishing then killer regressions nerf (but at least there would be no infinite games)

  • I really feel like the Slowdown is unhealthy for the game because of how it is basically needed, but also the current meta of slowdown does not reward players for going for hooks. You kind of just get the slowdown then and there.

Old Pop Goes and Pain Res were amazing because survivors had to hook survivors to get them, you had to actually play and interact with survivors.

But also, if slowdown was turned down, but the basekit generator % lost was increased, I would be perfectly happy. The 2.5% lost is basically worthless.

I think the ideal rework would be generators lost 10% progress when you kick them, Pop Goes The Weasel causes the progress lost to be doubled if you hooked a unique survivor than the one that was last unhooked.
