Nurse doesn't fit into modern Dead by Daylight

She is a relic from the past when game was an extremely casual experience with lot of overpowered option, like instantly doing gen with toolbox add-on , or infinite loops, or Mori after one down, blendettes ruling the dark maps with supreme stealth.

Today dbd is evolved and trying to be more of competitive game, and taking every fun option from survivor players, maps are brightened up, no longer possible to break LOS on most maps, or the options are severly limited, not to mention the extremely long list of aura reading perks. In short every countermeasure is disabled vs Nurse.

She doesn't play the same game like any other killer, she has no limitations, it doesn't matter what survivors are doing, she is playing against herself. If Nurse player avoid making any mistake, she is guaranteed to win every time.

Is it really good argument letting her to stay extremely overpowered just because she is hard to learn?

She doesn't belong into the game anymore, especially since everything that was unfair to killers, taken from survivors.

Its time for Nurse to be reworked, to be not a free win for a dedicated killer player.

Statistically she always be underpowered, since on console she can't reach the level which possible on pc, so console data providing the justification to be untouchable right now

  • As a actual 2016 beta player Nurse has received countless changes to put her in line with the current dead by daylight game, literally just nerf recharge and distance

  • Give me links and timestamps, I require help.

There's a reason your experience is being scrutinized, and not ours.

The reason why nurse is so strong is because her Power simply overthrows the DBD Concept

She doesnt need: to kick pallets, vault windows or even generator regression at all in the higher MMR

All she needs is chases, and out of all killer she potentially ends them the fastest.

This can lead to Survivors often giving up which is very unfun for everybody (especially solo queues)

So ... lets tackle the "Damage Per Second"

My idea is that after a blink, the Player must manually recharge her power by pressing the abillity Button

This recharge should take about 8-10 Seconds.

If not all Blinks were used, the remaining ones can be still used unless a survivor got hit with only 1 blink

resulting into consuming all blinks. If a Survivor gets hit without a Blink Attack, no Recharge is required.

BUT to make things intresting, while her power is not charged: her movement speed becomes 4,4 m/s

and she can also cancel the recharge but will lose progression worth 10% per second

During the recharge she moves the regular 3.85 m/s

When the recharge is done, she can teleport again and moves 3.85 m/s

To prevent "99%ing" after a basic hit in the 4,4 m/s mode all recharge progress gets lost.

To still reward skilled plays, after a teleport hit, the recharge should be 15-20% faster untill fully charged

Lightburn should also apply to the recharge action

    The Addons

Spasmodic Breath Hitting a Survivor with a Blink attack causes the Nurse to move 4,6 m/s for 15 seconds and also disables the recharge during that time. After the 15 seconds, the recharge will not hinder the movement speed

Dark Cincture & Fragile Wheeze the recharge takes 0,4 seconds & 0,6 seconds less

Matchbox After destroying a Pallet, recharging is 100% faster for 60 seconds.

Alternative: When the recharge is completed, you will gain undetectable for 8 seconds.

    One more thing

And while we talk about Nuse Thanatophobia should go back to 4% penalty per injured Survivor now that generators need 10 seconds longer by default, however it should then also be applyed to mending since the endurance effect is now more common.

I hope my idea recieves alot of approval, feel free to share it with your favorite content creator (lol)

or discuss about possible changes and improvements

I agree, her concept is far away of modern competitive DBD, so I tried to "modernize" her. What you guys think?

I obviously ignored your slightly racist comment, dude.

Besides, i've already shown you where to find one match of me going against nurse, one match of me playing as nurse. You want more? Too bad. Find it yourself. Why are you asking me to catelogue my own videos? That's such a weird thing to ask.

If you can't gauge how good a player is from 2 matches then you shouldn't be talking on game balance.

Show some of your own gameplay before you ask for a whole video collection of others. Still waiting.

Been there. Done that. I'm the only one in here not scared to provide video. Where is yours?

I don't have any I'm just a casual gamer that doesn't feel the need to record every game or want to showcase thought skills to a public that doesn't really care.

But the point I was making was this, you asked everyone else to post video proof saying that you have posted links in the past with nothing in response. But when ask to point out a said video because they can't find any video on sources available to them about anything dealing with the Nurse because there are too many other videos to shift through you refuse basically saying "It there just look harder"

We do not need to debunk these arguments.

    They do it themselves.

Every time I see someone say, "Help, the mean nurse is too strong," I ask, "Okay, prove it to me, show me how you play against her."

And, oddly enough, how many videos do we get in response?

    0.

Yet, if the nurse is indeed this overpowering monster who rules over terrified survivors like a living God, it should be easy to prove, right?

Well, then, survivors, will you show us this evidence?

Unless you're afraid that by showing us your gameplay, it will allow us to see that in fact, if the nurse is able to crush you, it's not necessarily her who is overpowered, but maybe it's you ... who are too weak ...

    Saying something is easy.

Proving it ... a little more complicated, it seems.

I mean, tbf it's not like anyones first instinct when they here nurses scream is "I gotta take a video of this" it's more along the lines of "well...sh- " lol

I think you should really show us how you play against her, because you just said that you lose the LOS quite often against her, only to go back into a "She doesn't belong here, she shouldn't be going through walls, etc."

Sorry if I'm not really convinced ๐Ÿ™„

Well, become an OP plane and show us ๐Ÿ˜

This just sounds like a nurse main desperate to avoid nerfs. Enjoy her while it lasts!

And your speech is exactly that of someone who doesn't know what he's talking about, who never plays nurse, but who allows himself to ask to be nerfed, instead of trying to improve himself as a survivor. How sad.

I agree, her concept is far away of modern competitive DBD, so I tried to "modernize" her. What you guys think?

At worst, let BHVR create another killer that can teleport according to this model, but leave the nurse alone, it's still crazy these people who just because they don't like a killer want to change him from top to bottom.

  • nurse needs a buff and a nerf at the same time.

buff: increase base blink range to 22 meters

    nerf: remove range addons 24/26/30.

  • I agree. I've always found it interesting how Freddy got nerfed into oblivion back when 'Forever Freddy' was a thing and everyone complained, and killers who actually never needed a nerf in the first place (Deathslinger, Billy) also got majorly nerfed. Yet, despite some minor changes/nerfs over the years, Nurse has always remained the most powerful and oppressive killer in the game. Her power was designed way back when DBD was an entirely different game, and every new buff and powerful perk that killers get, just makes her more and more overpowered. I mean, have the devs not seen the Starstruck/Infectious combo on her? Or that Hex build you see people running atm (Haunted Grounds, Retribution)?

I think even nerfing (or removing) her range addons and making her power a special attack would be at least a start and make her less overbearing.

  • I just see her the same way I see someone like blight. Base kit is ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜บ fine, although they could definitely go for some tweaks. Their addons however, are stupidly strong and shouldn't exist. Makes sense for someone like trapper to have strong addons, not nurse who is already significantly better than 90% of killers with their best addons, does not need anything things to drastically buff her.
