Probably balanced reasons. Thats also why they put 300 lockers into every map
It might be so survivors dont use up locks so often. i have no idea. i wish you could choose individual lockers
It's probably so the killer actually has to spend time breaking locks from lockers instead of being able to ignore half of them.
Should be able to break unused locks since you need to attack it and it takes an equal amount of time as a survivor locking them.
Balance reasons I quess. I am not fan of that to be fair.
Its kind of odd in that it maximizes survivor efficiency automatically. If that logic didn't exist survivors would either need to choose
A. Lock all lockers to pre-empt dredge getting a fast escape, but the drawback is dredge could break all locks and only get the longer duration of 1 lock in the group. That said he would still need to sit through the attack animation for each busted lock
B. Try to just lock one and hope the dredge goes into that one, you can then lock the others in the same fashion to maximize the lock time for any given group
BHVR tweaked it such that the game auto maximizes and completely throws the choice away, which I feel is kind of odd/unfortunate. It seems like a super late tweak to his logic given one of his brown addons even marks locked lockers for the gloaming which seems entirely pointless if the game auto forces you into the locked one of the group.
Yeah they say that each locker can only be locked once but when they come in pairs, you just need to lock them one at a time, that way you get to keep the other lock for later.
I enjoy being able to tell who made the post without looking at the author.
