There is no way for killers to know if someone is cleansing or blessing their hexes anymore.

The most important thing for a killer to defend is their hexes when bringing them.

Considering the fact hexes have a chance to spawn near a survivor that can immediatly cleanse them in a match,it wasn't just nice, but needed to know if something like that happened,so you can at least get them off the hex and get a little bit of value out it at least.

Now because boons(thanks again) that not only are a middle finger in the killers face, they nerfed Thrill of the Hunt, the only perk that made it possible to know if someone is messing with your hexes.

Now Hexes are even more rng and are almost never viable anymore except the very few combos that are still used such as undying, ruin.

I get it BHVR,you cater to the survivors playerbase because there's 4 times as many survivors than killers in theory.

But you can tell there's not enough killers, because every evening when you wanna play some swf with your friends, the waiting times to find a killer take betwen 5-15 minutes or even more.

Its obvious in this game the majority of the playerbase rather play survivor than killer, and changes like this just makes it alienate killer playerbase even more.

Nope. The most important thing is still to prevent Survivors from doing Generators. If your Hex is found, it is gone. There is 0 reason to protect it, because unless more than one Survivor is trying to cleanse it, the others will be free to do Gens. And there is also no point to defend a Ruin-Totem if you dont chase Survivors away from Gens.

Not only worying about defending your Hex but do it if the timing is right. You can get a lot of pressure by doing so againts survivors that really want to get rid of your hex.

But the main point of this thread is killers have no way of telling if someone is messing with their hexes anymore

  • You don't really need to protect hexes, some of them kinda require you to be actively doing other things and don't give you the time to protect the totem- Ruin needs survivors pressured off gens, Devour Hope needs a very active playstyle, Blood Favour and Crowd Control are only useful if you're getting in a lot of chases...

Sometimes a totem can be bait, but that's not really the same as needing to defend it.

Also, Thrill wasn't really nerfed, it was reworked. It's just as strong, if not stronger, right now.

Its not stronger, the biggest thing going for it was the fact it allowed you to know if someone was touching your hex.

And now it turns a 24 second blessing time into one that takes over a minute. So I'd argue that they removed one effect and buffed another.

True, but why bless a hex when you know you're dealing with thrill of the hunt in the first place?

95% of the times no one blesses hexes until they get rid of thrill of the hunt

That was the biggest thing it had going for it. Now, the biggest thing it has going for it is that it slows down blessing to a tremendous degree and only loses power if a totem is cleansed, not if it's blessed.

I'd argue that's just as strong, if not stronger. Thrill was never a good perk, it was always the second-best totem defence perk out of a grand total of two, so I'm glad to see it have an actual niche now.

Its nowhere near as good as it was, back then it basically gave you a free chase and made sure your hex is not getting cleansed anytime soon, unless another survivor takes the time coming for it,and that only if they we're swf and letting each other know.

Now sure it takes a few extra seconds to cleanse them and to bless which I dont think is stronger than the information it used to give.

  • I actually think thrill of the hunt is slightly better than it was before. But only slightly.

While the max slowdown went from 30% to 50%, because of the way it's calculated the max slowdown is actually more than double what it was before in terms of how much extra time it takes to do a totem (went from 20 seconds to 28), and it still serves two purposes, those being to slow cleansing and blessing. Thrill of the hunt can still have some value now even if it's your only remaining hex totem, vs. before it was pretty much worthless on its own.

Also, in a meta where survivors don't often cleanse dull totems and opt to bless them instead, this keeps thrill's tokens higher too because the only way to weaken it is cleansing totems. Boon totems still count towards its penalty stacks.

They dont cleanse dull totems but they cleanse hexes,Thrill is a hex.

To quote my friend after doing exactly that, "funny innit".

  • The reason they made this change in my opinion was because of The Artist. The fact she could've defended her totem from across the map quite easily would've been pretty busted.

It was a necessary change. Also I disagree with the statement that the most important thing to do is defend your totems.

Boons aren't the problem. CoH needs a nerf but boons overall is a great concept and adds a good incentive to not be on gens.

Lastly the devs don't cater to survivors. Sorry mate but there's a lot of changes they make to both sides to try and make the overall experience better.

  • Most hexes are useless so unless you have a 5 stack devour no other hex is worth defending as most of them are really bad.

I barely see any killers run hexes anymore, they rather use reliable perks that you always get value from.

  • Thrill was changed at the same time boons were introduced. You're too late to this party.
