Patch 7.0.0 may just make me love you again BHVR

Kindred aura base kit. Equipping the perk will now reward everyone with increased generator repairs should the killer be face camping the survivor.

Extra blood points for killers if they're facing a SWF

The removal of perk tiers

Killers have a say so in what maps they don't want to go to.

Redesigned map layout so LT walls can't connect to shack for unlimited looping

A genuine concession feature for both killers and survivors if they're getting utterly destroyed that will reward everyone with blood points should everyone agree

Killer buffs to Legion, Myers, and more.

And the list just goes on and on...

My cosmic brain prediction is that Scott did this as an experiment. Lots of people fell for it, and were overjoyed about the good changes BHVR were making, only to be bigtime let down when it was found out to be fake. But I think that was the point: Scott's making a 5head play to create an artificial pressure by viewers for BHVR to actually implement the changes listed. He's shown that the changes will be positively received by the community by all the people expressing their disappointment that they aren't legit, which incentivizes BHVR to actually commit and make them knowing they'll be well received.

The problem is that some of the changes have been suggested for a long time (e.g. removing perk tiers, giving killers bonus BP as incentive to face SWF, base kit kindred for survivors, etc). It’s not like the devs are hearing these ideas for the first time and are like “wow, those are great changes - we never thought of those!”. They’ve been getting this feedback for a long time and have intentionally chosen not to implement it for whatever reason

  • You should of knew it was fake right from the get go.

Patch notes don't drop until 30mins before the update comes out.

Also the removal of bloodlust should of tipped you off right away.

  • Hmm hmm

In years of development BHVR changes :

    loop and pallets

    medium vault

    vacuum pallet

    Myers changes

legion rework ( and another one this February )

    clown rework

new offerings for counter bad map

perks changes every patch ( except hotfixs )

What did you want more ?

maybe did you want to delete survivor sprint ability

  • Should've known it was fake when there were multiple good balance changes towards killer. BHVR doesn't care that much about their Killer player base.

Is that supposed to be good enough?

Imagine that disappointment when we got to patch 7.0.0 and there is nothing interesting...

I'm not sure what you are on about. Most of the changes in the video would improve DBD. And most killers indeed still struggle at high mmr.

Because killers never get changes that benefit them?

Like, this game has a lot of balance issues and what not, but still acting like BHVR doesn't care at all about one side is ridiculous.

I never said Killers don't get changes, but they never get that many good changes in one patch, it takes them years to make good changes for killers, just look at how long it took them to give Trapper more than one trap as base kit, or even fix the eye level of Blight. People wouldn't say BHVR didn't care if they actually put more effort and showed they cared. It's either they don't care or they're just incompetent, and neither choice is farfetched.

You all are the same you all great game development like it’s click 2 buttons and where done. Blights camera fix was not that simple They had to completely rework his animations to fix his camera it’s not that simple. The only thing I kind of agree with is trapper but the rest like docs rework the after piece antidote love or hate it took a while to make it’s not easy coding a game is complicated and hard

Don’t talk about the SBMM, this is awful for survivor and killer.

survivor mate are potatoes and for the killer …. This is 4 noob3 sometimes

  • I never say that, BHVR keep update dbd and this is not stop.

That doesn't mean that is lot of changes nor that they are good...

  • Frankly I think the enthusiasm was less about the actual contents (there were certainly questionable decisions in those patch notes) so much as the general attitude. They read like they were written by someone who had improving the game as a genuine priority, who was willing to take some risks to do it, and who understood what players do and don't like about their experiences, and who had an awareness of how little things matter. Most of BHVRs posts and comments and patch notes are fairly tone deaf, vague, or make you question why they're doing something. These patch notes really make it feel like the person who wrote them cares.
