What if Gens marked by Eruption took a bit longer to complete?

maybe 5/10/15% longer?

also, would it be cool if the "on down" effect also triggered when the gen got to 99%?

  • I would love to have more incentives to kick gens so I don’t see why not,

  • I wish perks like Surge or Oppression would set up Eruption

That'd be a nice little buff

    Calm down, Satan.

  • Popping automatically at 99% would be a decent buff.

That gen is likely already lost anyway, especially if it's on the opposite side of the map, but it at least serves as a little slowdown and delays that survivor from moving on for a few seconds. Plus it wouldn't feel completely wasted when you kick a load of gens, chase a survivor for 10 loops and then all the gens you just kicked get completed anyway.

  • So much wrong with Eruption.

Firstly, 6% is trash. That is literally seconds of a survivors time. 4.8 seconds if you'd like the exact number. That is completely worthless.

Secondly, you have to kick every single gen you want to be affected by it. That is an extreme cost that cannot be overstated. That is a lot of wasted time and pressure for a maybe chance of it activating on it.

Third, we say maybe chance because many of the time it will even get popped after kicking it before you can trigger Eruption. So not only was that extremely costly to kick it for such a small reward but you may not even get anything at all for it.

Lastly, there's also a cooldown on it? Why?

The only thing this bad perk has going for it is the Incapacitated effect for survivors currently on the gen. Even then it's only 16 seconds.

    -------------------------

-Bump it up to like 12% regression

-Automatically triggers when the gen reaches 99%

    -Incapacitated is now 20 seconds

The automated triggering is the most important part here and is why we have left the cooldown on it. It may even still need more, but this is a start. People typically just don't realize how heavy of a cost it is to ask the killer to constantly be going out of his way to waste time kicking every gen. That loses him a lot of time and map pressure. The reward needs to be measurable to that cost.

also, in the perk's description, it's a trap!

why would an intelligent parasite make a trap that doesn't go off?

  • The issue with eruption is that they both want it to compete with other regression perks, but don't want it to be good with other regression perks.

Like if you make it a decent percentage, what happens? You down a person and the gen loses 12%, hook them on a Scourge Hook and it pops another 15%, then you walk over and hit it with Pop for another 25%, and if you're lucky reapply eruption as well.

Guess our changes fixes the lore as well then lol.

Curious is the trap-maker's art... his efficacy unwitnessed by his own eyes.

  • Eruption really doesn't need a buff. It combos really well with guaranteeing a Pop on a gen, and 16 seconds of slowdown is nothing to scoff at by itself, that's like 20% of a gen's worth. Sure, the regression isn't very significant, but that isn't the main draw of the perk, that's the incapacitated.

Making it auto trigger on 99% would probably be too much, and would certainly be very annoying.

Triggering at 99% is probably the minimum it should get.

Otherwise the perk, and the kick, is entirely wasted.

By itself it would only serve as a 93% Tinkerer with no undetectable status associated with it, which is not that useful for the killer, but it delays that gen and survivor for about 20 seconds in total.

As for "annoying" it would basically be the killer equivalent of Blast Mine... which yeah, is pretty annoying. Sounds fair to me.

  • Look I know it sounds like much but what If survivors who are working on the gen while euroption goes off gets blown back within a 10 meter radius along if the incapacitated effect.

That's one of the best things I've heard. That would make it synergize with many perks.
