Despite the game being 1v4, Killer gets ZERO second chances compared to Survivor's 16
It is mind boggling to me because the Survivors have access to 16 perks vs the Killers 4.
Survivor meta is loitered with second chances that activate either at no cost or a very small cost, each of which counters almost any strategy the Killer could try to use to properly win the game.
And I'm not just talking about mere strength in these perks, I'm talking about how the mere EXISTENCE of these perks forces Killers to play in a completely different way because the penalty for triggering these perks can be so devastating.
Decisive (which is balanced), Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time (Iron Will isn't a second chance perk but negates an entire damn mechanic). ALL of these perks spread equally across 4 Survivors for a grand total of 16 individual perks that can severely cripple and punish the Killer for daring to play in a way that God bless them may actually result in them winning the game.
YES tunneling sucks but so does losing as Killer, YES slugging sucks but so does losing as Killer. Most of the time, not all the time but most of the time it feels needed because of how pressured the Killer can feel with time. And this is not even considering SWF or loaded medkits/toolboxes which Survivors also get to bring, so that's 16 second chance perks, full communication, the ability to fully heal themselves multiple times without help, this feels like a damn McDonalds order.
I feel like the absolute worst part of this is that if looked at individually on a lone Survivor, they don't seem all that bad right? The issue happens when it's 4 Survivors who all can use these equally and punishing the Killer for even daring to play the game in a way that a Survivor may find unsavory.
The Killer gets punished and Survivors get 4 escapes because the Killer has been whipped like a damn dog and conditioned into always expecting these perks and being literally FORCED to play around them, and if they don't they throw the entire game. I understand why they are used, I fully understand why someone would defend them and I understand that in order to win as consistently as possible this is what is expected.
But for the Killer it literally feels awful, like a slap in the face for daring to focus on success. The only Killer perks that impact the game anywhere near the way these perks do are NOED and Ruin. NOED also being a broken perk and Ruin being an inconsistent joke.
For a matter of perspective, no Killer perk grants you a free hit. No Killer perk freezes the Survivor in place for a moment so the Killer can catch up for free, no Killer perk auto grabs you again if you somehow escape their grasp, no Killer perk counters endurance (now power either... for some reason).
Killer gets no second chances, there is no handicap, there is no assistance, the closest they get is NOED or a pity Bloodlust because the Survivor was actually decent at running loops. And again, NOED sucks and should be changed.
Before you sit here and start typing out why this is somehow completely fine, let me say this: Losing as Killer doesn't feel good either. Killer has the harder job and has far more pressure on them to perform well, and yet don't get anywhere near the second chances a lone single individual Survivor gets.
Excuse it, argue about it, do whatever you like, but one thing will remain true no matter what: It is not fun.
PS: No, no one cares that you are a nice Killer who never tunnels nor slugs nor does anything that Survivors may whine about, your 5 hooks and 0 sacrifices impress no one. Play at a higher level before making excuses.

Fun is subjective OP. Anyway NOED is arguably the ultimate second chance perk in the game, since it can turn a 1 hook game in a 4 sacrifices game.
Yeah which is why I said it sucks and should be changed. I am in no way defending NOED.
I don't think either side should have second chances. It's extremely frustrating to outplay someone and then they just use a perk or item to save themselves again. Mistakes need to be punished on both sides.
