What are your thoughts about the potential of boon totems changing the gameplay?☺

Edit: had a chance to play around with boon totems finally😇 and they are, thankfully, not as OP (yet) as they could be.

Boon totems:survivors need another objective we hear you killers But survivors are our business model🤑so here is something for killers to worry about😇

Get the popcorn ready

Edit: thank you to the people staying on topic...just ignore the bullies they dont deserve the attention😴.

I wonder if the killer can change it back to their hex totem if it got blessed...say get their ruin back or haunted grounds.

That might be to overpowered though 🤔

That'd be pretty strong, although I like the "Risk vs reward" concept.

When you run a hex perk as killer, you risk it being cleansed very early.

When you run an obsession perk as survivor, you risk the chance of going up against a killer with Remember Me (who will tunnel you) or something like Rancor. (We used to have the old "Kill the obsession slow everyone else down by 25%" dying light but that was reworked.)

When you run a boon, maybe there should be the risk of going against a killer with a hex perk, who can "Hijack" your boon to restore a cleansed hex.

It would add an interesting dynamic...do you finish gens quicker or try to get an advantage by hijacking the the killers hex totem again?

There was no "harrassment", they were showing genuine concern for the OP.

No they weren't...I have been harassed on multiple posts by the same people. They just click on my posts to continue the cycle(and since I use emojis in my posts they are easy to identify.)

The question was even reworded and did they ever actually talk about the topic?

Always hateful diatribe on all their messages among multiple threads. I just dont enable the bullying and leave it at that.

    Be blessed😇

I fear that while it might be quick to cleanse a Boon Totem, pity the poor Trapper or Hag who have to leave their trapped area to limp across the map in order to cleanse it - only to have it re-ignited as many times as the survivors want.

In particular for those killers with slow movement speed, there is the potential to ruin games. I'd love more details!

If a hex totem is cleansed it becomes a boon totem. If the killer interacts with the boon totem it becomes a dull totem...yeah trap based killers are going to have a harder time overall.

  • Certainly hoping for big changes to shake up the meta. But too much, too fast, is bad marketing.

I hoped for this with The Executioner's cages but they fell by the wayside. They seemed like an intro to a mechanic that sidestepped hooks and could bring in some new dynamics with successive killers. But they didn't.

Holding out hope now for scourge hooks and these boon totems but... just slightly.

  • One more thing for killers to worry about

Can't wait to see how top tier survivors abuse them

  • I think people greatly overestimate the average survivor's desire and ability to optimize perks/gameplay. People are thinking of boon totems in a global diamond elite MMR sense, when the reality is many survivors can't figure out that they should reset and work on separate gens when a killer has PGTW and there's one gen left.

So anything useful to comment on the topic or is it just hateful diatribe?😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

And I made it simple for you...my post messages have emojis so you can ignore them in the label. Be blessed😎

Ignore the haters, I enjoy your posts, especially the emojis. Freshens up the forums a bit.

  • I changed my mind, but her non-boon totem perk is 100% doo doo.

  • They ruined the game for Killer.

Thanks😇 by the way trapper sack and iri stone is chef's kiss. Get your gen position traps set up and then just chase and herd...it saves so much time.

Boon totems dont take long to cleanse either so I think trap based characters are safe.

All of her perks are garbage tier. Not to mention boon totems have to be associated with dull totems - even more yay for trying to prevent NOED!

Noed still activates like normal as long as there is a dull totem.

If it gets blessed you lose the hex perk associated with it.

Haunted grounds still activated even if the totem associated with it is blessed😇

The survivors have to be around the area of effect of the boon totem to reap the benefits.

It seems like the 100 percent heal boon is the worst so far.

  • @scorpio said:

The fact that survivors can light them over and over again after the killer cleanses them is so broken. Completely unfair BS. All killer hexes are prelit and then are gone once cleansed but survivors can relight their boons immediately after the killer cleanses it. It’s just baffling that they think this is fair.

It takes them just as long to bless as to cleanse a totem and killer can remove it with a quick stomp thankfully.

Yeah that one is not the best🤣
