Killers ranked by how well they use PWYF

S tier - Actually a decent perk

The Wraith

  • Acquires stacks incredibly easily by uncloaking.
  • Slots in perfectly with Serpent+Dance add-ons.
  • He has the mobility where abandoning the obsession isn't a big deal.
  • The speed pairs well with his uncloak lunge, increasing his top speed from 10.35 m/s to 11.7 m/s

the twins

  • Patch dependent, because Twins aren't allowed to be fun
  • Can generate tokens easily by simply deploying or swapping to Victor.
  • If this is a good PWYF patch, Victor doesn't deplete tokens on pounces because "he isn't a killer and doesn't interact with perks in any way", so Charlotte gets to be a 5.2 m/s powerhouse for most of the game.
  • If it's a bad patch, pounce is an "offensive action" and Twins get #########.

The Spirit

  • Post-phase lunges get empowered similar to Wraith uncloak lunges.
  • You sometimes drop chase mid-phase.

A Tier - It's usable

The Ghostface

  • Routinely abandons "chases" after 99ing somebody.
  • Desperately to get a fast hit before his mark wears off, and this can help
  • Only one hit per down if you're doing it right, so you can maintain stacks decently.

The Shape

  • A requirement for Evil Incarnate
  • Stalking to 99 can break chase for stacks on occasion, and you ditch chases to go for sneak attacks often
  • Similarly to Ghostface, dependent on downing people early in a chase
  • Decent in a T3 centric build or style. Not so much for a T2 jumpscare centric build (ie sloppy+monitor).

The Pig

  • The extra speed works on Dash. Since your dashes typically hit or miss on thin margins, this can help a lot.

B Tier - I mean, if you've got nothing else

The Nightmare

  • Placing snares doesn't remove PWYF stacks, so if you have the stacks already you can spam snares and brute force almost any loop.
  • Since the dream world tends to ######### with people's awareness a bit, your obsession will likely be confused while you're building up stacks, potentially giving you free hits on indoor maps.
  • You aren't able to maintain the stacks very well.

The Plague

  • Vile Purge does not deplete tokens.
  • With 3 stacks, you lose no distance on survivors in the time it takes to start charging your vomit (and you actively close distance if you're running Olibanum and/or Incensed Ointment).
  • Since it's only one hit to down once they're 100% infected, you can maintain stacks decently.
  • Helps with your ######### mobility and need to retrieve your power.
  • Keep in mind that Corrupt Purge drains tokens like a #########.

C tier - If you squint at it it almost does something

The Trapper

  • Catching people out of traps doesn't deplete tokens.
  • If you're really lucky you can maintain tokens really well.

The Doctor

  • Zaps don't deplete tokens.
  • Helps with your shock's range issues and people holding W.

The Cannibal

  • Only with Tuning Guide.

D Tier - Nothing Special, but Why?

The executioner

  • Faking doesn't drop tokens, so I guess it might be usable, but that's iffy.
  • Helps with people holding W since you sometimes get tokens back after pallet breaks.

The Clown

  • Bottles don't cost tokens.
  • Mitigates time lost if you're forced to make a bad reload.
  • If chase breaks after you break a pallet you double-gassed, you can close the gap at a scary pace... but Brutal is better, and that's saying something.

the deathslinger

  • If chase breaks after your reel+hit+reload, it can give value... but STBFL is better.

The Oni

  • Actual dogshit once you've got blood flowing.
  • If people are being boring nerds and predropping every pallet on the map for the first 5 minutes of the match to prevent blood from flowing, this can help you break through... but Monitor would do it better.

F Tier - Actual Garbage

The Legion

  • You burn through every token you get through multistabs.

The Hillbilly

  • You burn through tokens using your saw for mobility, pallet breaks, or curve attempts.

The Demogorgon

  • Every pallet break burns a token.

The Blight

  • Every rush burns a token.

The Hag

  • Hag does not walk at people.

The Huntress

  • Remember the days of PWYF Huntress? I do. It was kinda dumb. Doesn't work anymore, and going for hatchets is better than wasting time on tokens.

The Nurse

  • Nurse does not walk at people, and every time she blinks she loses tokens.

The Trickster

  • Wanna see me waste all my PWYF tokens? Wanna see me do it again?

Comments

  • It blows my mind that instakilling someone doesn’t cost a token. But throwing 1 of 8 knives required to injure a survivor does

  • I'd move Ghostface to S. The fact he instadowns means you can get up to 3 downs just farming your obsession once.

  • Oh, this list is nostalgic. It reminds me of the good ole' days when I used PWYF to compensate for RPB's movement speed reduction. Haven't touched that perk ever since.

It is a shame that build doesn't work anymore. It used to be one of my favorites.

  • Trickster should be G tier tbh.

  • Kind of thinking you should only loose a token when you take a survivor health state.

  • I would put plague higher if you aren't using corrupt often.

  • I don't believe Nurse actually loses tokens when she blinks, cause I used it yesterday with the iri addon and wasn't losing tokens until I attacked. Still awful either way.

and...I'd also make an argument for Legion. I still think it's a bad perk on him, but hypothetically, if everyone stays injured which some teams do, being able to get some extra chasing power while everyone is vulnerable is technically not bad. Being a 4.8-5.2m/s killer against a team of injured people is definitely better than how other killers can use it. However, people still heal against Legion a ton (for some reason), so its strength really depends on the survivor playstyle. PLUS, TECHNICALLY AGAIN, YOU CAN GAIN A TOKEN FROM STABBING YOUR OBSESSION AND LEAVING, AND IT CAN BE USABLE TO CHain more hits. Still bad though, but it c o u l d be out of trash tier lol.
