I think glitched cosmetics were crashing my game.
oh absoluuuuuutely. because they were present in literally every match and map, just like particle animations... wait
I 100% get a lag spike when someone uses dead hard tho
It was a joke.
Any type of glitch can have an unexpected consequence and thus its better to iron them all out rather than leave that bad code in the game
I was aware
but refusing to actually fix the bad code dbd is founded on to make the game significantly more stable, probably fixing several of these bugs in the process, is a much lower priority than stopping characters breaking sets?
The problem is that it makes bhvr look reeeeallllyyyyy stupid to issue a hot fix over stuff so trivial and benign such as the cosmetic set bug when there are dozens of critical bugs they need to fix asap.
I understand that some bugs are easier to fix than others and that's why it was put in this hot fix, but it still doesn't make them look good when people on console can't even play the game yet they had time to fix an issue with cosmetics.
It really does make you wonder where their priorities are.
Look im not trying to play a pick n choose priority game with you all i am saying is that it was faulty code that was probably easier to isolate atm. Of course all of the code should be fixed and a priority its most likely that they have multiple teams error checking and that one just got found faster.
