how do you feel about trapper, he is really weak should he get a rework or just stat buff

Mostly everyone knows this killer is very weak but how would you buff him. should he get a Freddy-style rework. you think he will ever be a solid killer. should he be given a new ability or mechanic. i always thought that maybe he can be given a new trap that can trap pallets and windows directly.

  • The issue with trapper in my opinion is that it just takes WAY too long. By the time he's properly prepared the game can already be over. An idea I had to this was to make it so he starts with all his traps. Well kind of. Basically when the game begins he starts with all his traps but he can't pick back up more than 2 at a time. Let's put it this way. Let's say he starts with 10 traps, he spawns in and has all 10 in his inventory to place down where he wants. He places down 9 traps but now he's placed 9 he can only pick 1 back up. Or let's say he places 4 of the 10 traps but wants to move one, he can't move it until he places 5 other traps because he doesn't have a free slot to pick it back up. Once he's set down traps he can never pick up more than 2 at a time. This would be a huge help to trapper non-existing early game but also prevent the scenario of just placing all traps in every chase that otzdarva seems concerned about because the trapper could only ever do that once and even if he DID do it it would be a waste of time because now he'd have to setup traps only being able to pick up 2 at a time and losing a ton of map pressure just for a single potential down.

that's a good buff to his earky game but the thing is that not only is he already a bad killer they are indirectly nerfing him with the map reworks since the grass now look so thin

  • Trapper needs a complete rework his base is the most outdated out of all the killers because why would I choose trapper when I can play Hag Freddy and everyone else over him he needs a rework

  • I don't think he needs a Freddy style rework, I think he just needs improvements.

    1. Allow Trapper to start/carry more traps and darken the traps since the reworked maps have made them much easier to see.

    2. Have survivors that escape a trap be inflicted with deep wound. Also adjust bloody coil to inflict deep wound instead of just injure. This will make his traps more useful.

    3. Have trap spawns in more centralized area instead of all over the map. Having to go to a dead zone corner to grab a trap is pretty ridiculous.

  • He needs to be able to hold more traps base kit but some of his best addons might need to be nerfed slightly to compensate.

It takes him too long to walk around collecting his power and setting up. But his snowball potential is insane and I assume that's why he hasn't been getting any changes.

I do think the single best change they can do for him against good survivors is making Dead Hard unable to go over his traps though. It's really stupid that Dead Hard can turn his traps against him.

  • Takes too long to setup

Experienced survivors know most of the places he can trap. So only random spots will catch people.

Even in grass people can see his traps without a tar bottle

Headsets completely negate his power. If one person see's him set a trap then they all know where it is.

Without bloody coil there is no danger to disarm his traps. Making him powerless.

As for what i would do to make him viable. There really needs to be some early game warm up like the devs have been talking about for years. He needs to be able to carry 2-3 traps by default. He should start with his traps or refill them at a locker. I dont want to give him a teleport like freddy but he needs more mobility to better apply pressure. I would add skill checks when disarming a trap. Similar to overcharge on a gen. Add ons and certain perks shrink the size of the bar.

  • Would it be fun if trapper could throw his traps into places as much as put them down normally? I would think it was fun.

  • I'd make the Trapper Sack base-kit and have the traps spawn closer together.

Another option could be to have him able to make a couple of different traps: Bear traps (of course!), and maybe trip wires, snare or even a conibear trap.

Evan is always going to be a territorial killer, and that's good in terms of killer variety. However, a faster start and a couple of variations to the traps to keep survivors on their toes would help.
