Pyramid Head Torment Re-Work

Pyramid Head's power can sometimes just be used just for an easy kill and, is set-up for easy tunneling (e.x: caging decisive guy, when he gets off, tunnel him down. no decisive) yet everything else is fine. Tunneling is his heavy issue.

So, me, and my friend, came up with a re-work for Pyramid Head.

Once Tormented, similarly to curing Madness Tier 3, the survivor, once they lose Pyramid Head (basically out of a chase) can spend a 20 second action to remove the torment. This action is called "Atone". One skill check will start, but multiple small areas to hit will be lied out. The survivor must eventually hit all three skill checks. If they miss, all progress Atoning will be lost. Once the survivor finished Atoning, they get the Oblivious status effect for 6 seconds - because they think they are protected by God.

Addons can change the effects of Atoning.

"Ripped Letter" (Rare)

A ripped letter that was sent to someone named James Sunderland.

Any survivor who finishes Atoning will not get the Oblivious status effect, but the Haunted status effect. If the survivor goes 24 meters within another survivor, that survivor will be tormented. The survivor will not scream.

"You'd promise you'd take me there some-day, but you never did." -The only readable part of the remains

"Broken Flashlight Shards" (Ultra Rare)

When a girl named Cheryl needed therapy - she had broken her pocket flashlight. After Harry Mason, whom of which Pyramid Head had somehow ran into, he was attacked by Pyramid Head. Harry dodged the attack -- but dropped remains of Cheryl's pocket flashlight. Pyramid Head noticed that Harry looked despairful when escaping, had he noticed what happened. Pyramid Head decided to keep it as a sign of despair.

"Broken Prayers" (Uncommon)

A bottle filled with the air of prayers screaming as they're being punished.

Atoning takes 5 seconds longer.

"Is this god!? Here to punish us for our sins?!" A prayer, screaming at Pyramid Head.

"Claudia's Bottled Blood" (Rare)

A bottle filled with Claudia's blood.

Atoning takes 10 seconds longer.

"Cheryl's Dreams" (Rare)

An essence that Pyramid Head can never forget.

If a survivor misses an Atoning skill check, they will scream instead of losing progress.

"I just wanted to see my dad again." -Cheryl Mason

Any Survivor that atones will become injured/downed. If that survivor is Cheryl Mason, she will be healed 50% instead of injured/downed.`

"I will always be here for you, Cheryl." -Harry Mason

"Boat Paddle" (Legendary) ((Would only be available if a Silent Hill HD Remastered collection was found on the save))

When Pyramid Head's prey had escaped, Pyramid Head sought out to find them. Sadly, he could only find a boat paddle.

Any survivor sent to the cage will not lose Torment. Any survivor that rescues the caged survivor will become tormented - and if they were already tormented they will become injured. If already injured, they will scream as soon as they go 12 meters away from the rescued survivor. If the Tormented-By-Rescue survivor atones, they will become the obsession and have their aura revealed for 30 seconds.

If equipped with the Ripped Letter,

The survivor that atones has their aura revealed for 40 seconds, and becomes exposed for 20 seconds.

"I understand what Silent Hill really is now. It's a place for sinners - and a place for sinners to atone." -James Sunderland, Drifting in Water

New Outfits:

Cheryl Mason:

James Sunderland (LEGENDARY) SILENT HILL EXPLORERS

"Losing a loved-one reminded her of a detective, who said he spent time in Silent Hill looking for a loved-one he thought was dead."

Harry Mason (LEGENDARY) SILENT HILL EXPLORERS

"Never being able to see her father again inspired Cheryl to try and get a picture of him."

The Executioner:

Old Memories (LEGENDARY) Old'n Times

"The entity had recently given the killers a Gamestation 2, and Pyramid Head decided to revisit old times."

(basically a pixelated version of Pyramid Head)

The Shape:

80's Slasher (LEGENDARY) SAME ROOMS OVER AND OVER

"The Shape emotionlessly drove Laurie Strode into Micheal Myers, and smiled when she was stabbed."

(pixelated version of Micheal Myers)

80's Hot-Shot or Separated Babysitter (LEGENDARY) SAME ROOMS OVER AND OVER

"When Laurie Strode snuck into the Killer's Basement, she found an Etari, and decided to play HALLOWEEN."

(pixelated version of Laurie Strode)

Comments

  • They nerfed him quite a bit, he can't see cages anymore and if he's too close to the cage it will respawn somewhere else

  • If survivors could spend 10 seconds to get rid of torment, there would be no point in having it. The oblivious status effect is also pointless.

  • I have no opinion haven't played enough Pyramid Heads.

  • Judging by what they've done in the past, since PH has received some changes recently, he isn't liable to get any for awhile. Let alone a full power rework. I believe Demo or Huntress is next to be getting looked at.

we're still discussing about it, lol. i'll edit it soon, we just didn't want to make the atone feel too long (like generator time) or too short, so basically making it like Madness was our objective. thank you for feedback, tho!

Freddy is next after clown, another nerf of course due to all hook suicides against him he's now considered too OP

I hope demodoggy gets a buff

  • The difference between madness and torment is that the doctor forces survivors into madness with his shock. Pyramid head relies on the survivors to run on his trails for them to get tormented. If you make it so survivors can remove the torment then there's no point in using trails. His trails of torment ability is fine at this point.
