Ace and Steve perk rework/buffs
Let's be honest they have the worst survivor perks that no one uses, why aren't they being buffed/reworked yet? ace in the hole is probably the only ''decent'' one and it's still not that good...
Is the luck mechanic outdated in your opinion? should it be removed and replaced with something else? how would you buff/rework their perks?
Comments
IMO yes I agree they both have the worst perks in dbd and luck needs a complete rework. How would I buff the perks? This is hard cause 2 of the 6 perks you mentioned are getting buffed so here’s my thoughts
Opened handed-need to test change when it comes live
Up the ante-rework luck first then we talk
Ace in the whole-I would make it 100% chance to get a very rare addon on a item and a 80/90/100% chance to get a 2nd addon of rare or lower attached
Babysitter-make this perk work for both sides so if you get unhooked or you unhook someone else you leave no scratch marks and blood for 20/25/30 seconds. If you unhook the survivor while the killer is 8m near the hook you gain the endurance status effect for 7 seconds.
Camaraderie-make it work for both sides so if you have the perk and you go to someone there struggle timer pauses and if the killer is within 16 meters of the hook the struggle timer is paused for 25/30/35 seconds.
Second wind-even though this perk is getting a buff here’s my version. Change the activation requirement to a safe unhook and make the healing timer 10/5/0 seconds so at tier 3 when your unhooked your instantly healed
these were my changes
Have you been hiding under a rock?
They just announced a buff to Open Handed & Second Wind.
Mostly talking to their kit as a whole, if only those perks are being looked at then they also need to do something about their other 2 perks.
Coincidentally, their most popular (according to me) perks are being buffed as of the 2021 January developer update.
Open-handed is getting a numerical buff, but only applies once. This invokes the typical inverse tragedy of the commons: “If I bring it, someone else might have it and then mine will just be useless,” which also plagued breakout. My suggestion is to have it apply personally, as well as making the numerical buff larger.
As for up the ante, I just think that luck is pretty useless. It needs a massive numerical buff to make it viable
Ace in the hole suffers from the too common “Good perk, inapplicable buff” disease. Sure, getting items with chests are great, but who is going to bring an entire perk for getting random items? That could be DS or unbreakable. It’s solution should be similar to open-handed; big, big numerical buffs to brute force it into relevance
Second wind received a simple numerical buff. If the numerical buff proves to be enough in the first place, I think the activation requirement needs to be shortened too.
Babysitter needs an entire rework. I get where the devs were trying to go with this and I very much enjoy the concept, but it just doesn’t have that great of an effect to warrant using it. No numerical buffs will solve that.
Camraderie is pretty meh. If you have teammates who are near you but won’t save you, you’re dead anyways. It needs an overhaul too; maybe increase the amount of time you take to die on the hook?
