Hag and freddy are pub stompers

I swear every time I play solo q I get the most trash teammates ever. I just played against a hag and freddy where my team didn't know what to do. Nobody was on gens, they were going down so fast. I don't get it lol then I asked these people what they think about hag and freddy and they tell me they OP.

In both matches I got 1 hooked with 23k points because I played smart and carried.

  • Good for you. Doesn't change the fact that both of those killers are very, very strong and have little counterplay outside of just slamming generators, which is not something your average team even wants to play like, let alone has the capacity to.

Hag's kinda understandable, but she still has counters such as running through her web while she's carrying someone, setting a trap off at the edge and running away etc.

But Freddy? Being awake makes him an M1 killer, and while asleep pre dropping and playing BL 50/50s are all counters. Plus using god windows, W key gaming and using god pallets as well.

  • I have the feeling some players give up when they see its a freddy. No gens get done and they didnt even had contact with him. Its like they see that they are falling asleep and decide that gens are not important for this match.

First, that's the only counter Hag has, and it is both unreliable and requires prior knowledge of exactly where her web is.

Second, you are grossly misrepresenting Freddy. Being awake for any length of time whilst in a chase is rarely, bordering on never, an option. His only counters in a chase are to hold W and instadrop pallets, given that a single loop of any tile will give all but the worst Freddy's a hit. And that counterplay is both going away thanks to the progressive (and welcome) map updates, and fails to take into account the fact that Freddy literally teleports to whatever generator needs the most pressure with whatever regression perk he happens to have equipped, which usually negates the hold-W chase times.

Edit: Flashlights, Hag is also partially countered by flashlights. Rarely harms me, though, it's more an annoyance than a loss.

Have You Seen freddy vs a swf? He gets absolutely demolished lol and most hags try forcing a 3 gen so I know how to play around that. Seriously people who think these killers are op haven't seen a god nurse or spirit

Freddy is more than capable of handling a swf. His map pressure is one of the best in the game and his 1v1 is very good as well, if the survivors start waking up then hes still in a good situation because theyre not spending time on gens. Most experienced Hags will try to be as unpredictable as possible, al though a 3 or 4 gen strat is her strongest set up. Both of these killers are pretty damn close to Nurse or Spirit.

Then how come when im in a swf against a freddy we dominate? I handle hags even in solo q so it's pretty much gg in a swf

A good portion of Freddy players are carried by easy yet effective he is. Once they go against people who are coordinated they simply dont know how to deal with it. Godlike Freddy players are REALLY hard to deal with for anyone especially when you take add ons in consideration. Hag is one of those killers where a lot of people dont know how to play properly. She's one of the harder killers to learn imo. So when it comes to Hags theyre pretty much a hit or miss

  • "Me good! Other players bad!"

    That's it. That's the thread.

  • Welcome to solo queue. Its hell on earth.

  • I still don't understand how some red ranks don't know you can crouch hag traps.

Crouching all the way to a hooked person for them to just bolt the second they get unhooked which leads to you getting MYC'ed is just awefull

Yeah flashlights and UB are way less effective counters to hag then people realize, out of all my games as hag i can't recall UB being used in a chase besides pallet camping so it was only useful for saves and flashlights are really only problematic when 3 or more are brought into a game. Without someone dedicated to following you and destroying your traps you wont loss traps fast enough for it to be a problem unless they are also destroying traps as you carry people and even then its not a lost game.

Hag does destroy solo's and mediocre swf's but so does a really good nurse or spirit and for a group of solo's most killers can beat that if they are good at whatever killer they are playing and that killer isn't awful. I feel like hag is as strong as she should be and doesn't need any more buffs or nerfs she to me feels fairly strong.

Actually very few games i play as hag have people that trigger traps on a hook, for that to happen i usually have to put the trap a bit further from the hook so it triggers early. Good hags don't care if you trigger hook traps it's mostly to just slow survivors down what you have to worry about is simply running into them since good hags set it up so you will get hit before you can make it to whatever your going to.

  • Hag is in a fine spot. She is kinda mediocre if you don't allow her to be territorial, but she is oppressive if she is territorial. This punishes solos or pubs way less than it punishes over-altruism, which has been a problem from the launch of the game. Its fine to have a killer that specifically targets the impulse to want to save other people and make it a horrible idea unless you can otherwise occupy her, and the only arguable problem with her is basement lockdown, which borderline isn't a problem because you almost always can know its hag and just avoid the basement areas on most maps so she can't hook you down there.

Freddy is a bit different and feels genuinely oppressive vs teams that aren't very coordinated. Vs coordinated teams he is pretty fair, if very strong, but he just has too much innate stall to the point that even without stall perks he feels stronger than a full stall combo of surveillance, tinker, undying, ruin, and then his power has a bunch of aspects on top of it! He depends too much on SWF being able to track Freddy's activities and avoid the oblivious effect to be fair, and vs them he is still strong because faster teleports and slower gens are already pretty hefty rewards for being asleep. So maybe his 'rework' just needs to be removing oblivious so solos feel better repairing while asleep vs him? Its downright strange that he has as an integral part of his power an 'anti-solo' effect considering how weak oblivious is vs SWF in most maps.
