A small change to DS/UB

Hey guys, this is just me pitching an idea to make the combination of Decisive Strike and Unbreakable slightly nicer to go against. As it is, it leaves the killer with very little choice of just leave the survivor alone (which, to be fair, good plan; go chase other people and pressure the map), which can feel pretty damn unfair to the killer.

So, here's my proposed change to make this build, which grants the survivor basically Godmode, a little less problematic:

Decisive Strike

"Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.

After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 40/50/60 seconds.

While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds. When Decisive Strike is active, you cannot recover by yourself beyond 50% recovery by any means.

  • Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike.
  • Successfully stunning the Killer will result in you becoming the Obsession.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

"There's nothing to be scared of." — Laurie Strode"

So, what's new?

Here, DS now has an added hard recovery cap of 50% progress, and you cannot recover further by yourself (up to the 95% cap, or 100% with Unbreakable and Soul Guard and No Mither) without the help of another when DS is actually active (the 40/50/60 seconds after an unhook). This removes the issue of DS+Unbreakable, whilst keeping the strength of the perk in tact.

In my opinion, this is pretty fair, but what do you guys think? Obviously there could be more changes to DS than just this, but this post was more focusing on trying to focus on the issue of DS/Unbreakable.

  • Eh the main issue with DS is the 60 shield it provides to player. People want it to act as a anti tunnel perk not an 60 second shield that make survivors untouchable.

If anything this would just be a band aid fix

I know there are other, major issues with the perk (and I'm working on a pretty massive post detailing these issues), but this was just something I thought of a while back and finally decided to put it out there.

  • Disable it after being healed by 20%, touching a gen or healing another person past 20%. Done. Fixed.
