Addons that should be base-kit with explanation
Title says it, these are add-ons that if a killer does not use it renders the character significantly in a weaker spot.
The addons mentioned below are only going to be suggested for mid-low tier killers to prevent imbalance (Mainly ones that don't get used a lot due to unreliability)
The addons mentioned below are only going to be brown/yellow at max so that such change is a minor effect which should be capitalized on.
1- The Trapper
Trapper Sack: Common
A crude leather sack suitable for foraging.
- Start with 1 extra Bear Trap.
- Increases Bear Trap Carrying capacity by 1.
Why?
I think we can all agree that the problem trapper suffers from is generator pressure, due to his lack of mobility. He has to spend quite a good while preparing for the game, and if you tried either of the trapper's sacks you'd preparing with the ability to carry 2-3 traps is a whole lot quicker, and even when you're preparing with 2 traps you might lose gens in the process.
Basically, if you can only transport 1 trap, and traps automatically spawn meters away from each other, the set up takes a lot of time and you have to walk a lot to get your traps. By having 2 traps at hand you can always keep one to shut down chases either through baiting or placing it right, and trap transportation is a lot less time consuming.
2- The Wraith
Bone Clapper: Uncommon
A Bell clapper made from a highly polished piece of bone. Causes the sounds of the Wailing Bell to echo and warp chaotically.
- Survivors can no longer discern the Wailing Bell's distance or direction.
Why?
This was a tough choice, I wasn't sure whether to put this or the yellow windstorm (More speed in cloak), but given that wraith is meant to be a stealth killer he should excel in stealth rather than the generator pressure that comes with the windstorm.
If you've played wraith in the red ranks you know just how essential this is to bring if you wanna include wraith's non existent at base surprise factor.
Without this addon, survivors hear bing bong, survivors run to the nearest loop, and you turn into an m1 killer relying heavily on mindgames and skill around different tiles, if you don't use this you're forced to play aggressively (blocking survivors off windows and pallets, bringing perks like save the best for the last, you get the playstyle...) rather than what the wraith is meant to be, a stealth killer. This addon instills paranoia into the survivors and gives shy guy the horror element he lacks.
3- The PIg
Combat Straps: Common
Leather straps that hold fabric in place for nimbler movement.
- Slightly reduces Crouch Activation time.
Why?
Before I explain this, let's just get one thing out of the way, The Pig's ambush attack completely ruins her stealth setup and you will not find any pig player use her ambush to actually stealth attack, but rather stand up and go for a hit/grab.
This is because of the loud groan she lets out right at the beginning of her ambush, combined with the slowdown at the beginning of the ambush it is simply unreliable in stealth and survivors will often run away leaving you no chance to reach them with the attack.
The pig's ambush attack is used in loops at pallets, and if you've played against a good pig at chase shutting you'll find that more than 80% of the time they're bringing this, and for good reason.
If you don't bring this, and the survivors you face notice, they'll often just run away when they see you crouch at a pallet, and guess what, you won't be able to reach them even with your ambush because of how slow you crouched.
By making this add-on basekit, it allows for good pig players to actually have a choice of 2 addons. 1 for lethality(ambush) and 1 for game delay(RBTs). Aggressive playstyle with 2 for lethality, or a relaxed strategic approach with 2 for RBTs.
4- The Demogorgon
Rat Liver: Common
A soggy pile of salty, soft liver.
- Slightly increases the Demogorgon's Movement speed while charging Of the Abyss.
Why?
This suggestion was already forwarded by a member of the balance team months ago to my knowledge (there's a thread about making rat-liver basekit the response is there) yet I'm not sure why nothing has been done yet. Anyways.
Like the pig, this addon is detrimental for chase shutting. While in shred mode you are slowed down by 24% all the way down to 91% speed. Survivors often capitalize on this slowdown and keep running to gain distance and by the time the Demo shreds he's already lost enough distance for the survivor to be able to dodge the shred or get ready to dead hard it.
This addon jumps it up to 100%, you're exactly same speed with the survivor during your shred, this truely makes it a 1v1 situation, allows for shreds mid-loops as you are able to make line of sight with predicted windows and ready your shred without losing massive distance.
Through these changes, I believe we can start seeing some of these deserted killers played again, at least in purple-red ranks, I can't even remember the last match I went against a pig in.
Comments
Well done, maybe also make the yellow apple (1 extra startup corrupted pool) basekit for the plague?
Mainly anything to make her get corrupt during match more often because survivors who never cleanse are a disaster.
Or maybe, add this
For every 80 seconds survivors don't cleanse, and there's at least 2 survivors afflicted with maximum infection, a random pool becomes corrupt
It already is
Yes i know she already has 1 at startup, thats why i said 1 extra since a full corrupt will get you 3 downs at max against decent survivors
3 downs is more than enough to snowball into a win.
