Generator tapping update?

In 2019 a post received a Dev response @Peanits in which Generator tapping without breaking run/look animation was taking place. It was not being looked into at the time. Any update if this issue is being looking into by the team?

Seriously.

I just had a match where a Feng ran PAST a genny & it stopped regressing. Her character did not even turn to FACE the generator because she tapped the button so quickly.

I know she did it because the Jake was on a Hook, and Bill and Claudette were behind me working on a different genny.

I regressed one, found Feng, and she just brushed past it without interrupting her sprinting animation and it stopped sparking.

It's in NO WAY a risk for Survivors to tap a gen mid-chase, since they can do it without even changing animations!

What's the point in spending 3 seconds Regressing a generator when Survivors can literally animation-cancel in less than a FRAME OF ANIMATION! That's 1/60th of a second to stop my THREE SECONDS OF WORK.

Something needs to be done to stop frame-instant gen tapping. This is a legit problem when Survivors don't even stop for a single frame of animation. @Peanits

Generator "tapping" isn't the issue, but rather the instant tap not providing a visual cue to the other players in the match. Ran into the issue twice the past week in which a survivor runs close by the generator in full view and regression began without their character looking at the object.

Comments

  • Tapping a generator freezes the survivor in place for a second, what more than likely happened was a latency thing where the other player didn't see the animation happening.

  • I think they should change it slightly to get it to stop regressing they should fix the gen for just 1 full second or 2. Just enough so they can't just cancel the regress while they're in a chase.

  • they should make a perk that when you kick a gen its blocked off for like 10 seconds

  • Takes an hour for the killer to pound a generator with his foot to make little difference to the gen.

A survivor being chased races by an a quick millisecond tap it is fixed... yup, no problem with generator tap... perhaps I shouldn't joke about an hour.
