Why the different treatment of playerbase?

When you released infinite mend legion bug it was bannable to use blade addons. You even went as far as posting it in game main menu, it was on top of every page in the forum telling people not to use those 2 addons and mods kept warning people they will get banned if they use it all over the forum. While hook exploit isn't bannable and all reports will disregarded. Why is that?

Comments

  • Hook exploit isn't bannable because it is on survivor side. Don't u get it?

  • Double standards. One set of rules for hem ad one set for killers. Ours get enforced. Theirs get added as content later on.

  • Because survivors do nothing but whine.

  • Because some bugs are different than others?

Infinite mend legion was an issue because... it was "infinite" forcing people to mend for 5+ minutes, also intentionally putting on these add-ons made it very easy to track, as upset as you may get, and argue with me, someone sitting under the hook is by no means game breaking. You can even just sit there and they either have to leave the hook or watch the survivor die.

Survivors were banned for using the Crotus Prenn out of bounds bug, but no one was banned for intentionally equipping Tinkerer 2 when it completely hid your terror radius.

It entirely depends on what the bug does, and how easy it is to track.

"Survivors were banned for using the Crotus Prenn out of bounds bug, "

And then immediately unbanned two weeks later despite the threat of the ban being permanent.

    And?

Permanently banning people for something that shouldn't have even been there is not the direction you want any game developer to go into, two weeks is pretty hefty for a casual game to be banning people for, I think it's fine.

And for what it's worth, I don't think anyone even got banned for the legion exploit.

There were Legion players that were permanently banned.

This is what the devs said about it.

    +1

  • Not all bugs are equal.

Already stated in the thread but most the bugs and exploits that they have punished players for have generally been related to the ability to take the game hostage (out of bounds/unreachable spots like Crotus Penn bug, the Pale Rose dropdown trap that contributed to Ochido's ban) or what's almost at that level (Legion blade addons).

Stuff like Wake Up, Sprint Burst, Tinkerer 2 or even weirder ones like the PWYF bug that was around at the same time as the Wake Up one? Obviously stuff is broken but they don't basically stop people from playing the game when someone exploits the bugs.

I can't 100% remember if they punished people for using the clown reload bug that let him move super fast by spamming his reload, if they did then yeah that one is pretty weird as it didn't have the utter game-ruining potential of unreachable glitch spots or anything like that.
