Is it beneficial to forcefully use Borrowed Time status?
I sometimes see survivors running into the killer to get hit and use up their Borrowed Time. Does this result in a net benefit for survivors or not and why assuming they get Borrowed Time to proc.

Only if they're bodyblocking for someone else.
It's kinda dumb to force the killer to hit you then be forced to mend afterwards. Survivors who do it probably just want the sprint for extra distance to feel safer.
It can prevent the killer hitting the saviour survivor, possibly preventing them from going down, and allowing both the unhooked & unhooker to get into a safer spot.
It's definitely beneficial.
As others said it has a few uses.
It's beneficial for many reasons, yeah.
You can bodyblock for the unhooker.
You can get a sprint burst / free health state.
You can combo it with DS.
You can consume killer tokens like PWYF or STBFL.
Etc
Particularly if the killer is tunnelling them, many people will intentionally get hit before the Endurance status effect runs out in order to receive all the benefits of a free hit, sprint burst included, rather than let the killer wait out Borrowed Time and then down them in one hit.
As others said, they sometimes also do it to bodyblock for their rescuer, particularly if the rescuer is injured.
If the killer is actually going for them, obviously it's better to get hit than risk the Endurance effect running out.
If not it can prevent what can happen with BT saves, especially against defensive killers wary of DS - hook trades. In that case it can make perfect sense to try to bodyblock with Endurance if the savior is injured and the killer is trying to get them, as 0 survivors on the ground is better than 1. And obviously if the player has something safe within reach and/or DS it makes even more sense.
EDIT: Obviously doing the latter makes it incredibly obvious your savior has BT, you have DS or both. Unless neither is the case and you're going for some galaxy brain unbreakable play I guess, I've certainly seen it work ๐.
A really smart killer will follow you for 15 seconds and then hit you, so it's pretty risky to do.
It can be a good strategy to get away from the killer to say - run up the stairs or run out of the gate.
Situational
Most of the time I would say no unless you are still being chased and the timer is about to run out
It is a nice sprint burst. A killer that keeps returning to the hook when someone is unhooked is basically holding a giant sign advertising that they have no game sense and can't determine where survivors are doing gens. So if you get your sprint burst with borrowed and run a bit he more than likely will never find you again until you unhook someone.
Borrowed is only really beneficial if you are against a camper. Farming with borrowed usually results with 2 downs, forcing a borrowed makes you have to mend, hook tech usually makes an exchange
