Looking up to avoid flashlight
I can't possibly be the only one that thinks looking up at the sky to avoid being blinded is basically an exploit. This should be removed considering as a killer you can basically 180 to avoid a flashlight blind as it is.
As a killer this has never been something I needed to resort to. Most flashlight plays can be avoided when they are rescue attempts during carrying. You're able to turn other directions and basically ignore the survivor or alternatively slug at them to scare them away. The only situations I've encountered that were truly unavoidable have been double blinds. Those are fairly rare to happen.
As a survivor it is frustrating to have what appears to you to be a legit shot at saving a teammate with a direct blind only for that to be stopped by a stargazer who's still fully capable of slugging in front of his path. I'm sure others have become aware of this when doing their blind mission.
My fix for this is:
- Remove it outright as a way to avoid the light. Easiest solution. If you want to avoid a light you should actually look away. There is already a perk that addresses flashlights and other movements (Which potentially still present vulnerability) are available.
- Keep it but instead make it so this increases struggle speed. Then there is a trade off of not getting the blind but potentially this cases your victim to break free. A 2%-5% boost would be fair. There is already a perk that specifically makes blinds harder alongside another perk that makes it harder to struggle so... Yeah there's countermeasures in place. To avoid the flashlight altogether there is of course Franklin's demise.
Now I expect a lot of killers to hate this but frankly I couldn't really care. I play both sides and this has been something that has bothered me since starting this game. It alongside seeing bugs is the only reason I bothered registering on here at all. Overall as it is flashlights tend to just be used to get some quick points because when it comes to plays to help your team they can be avoided 99% of the time. With this change flashlights would be a little more useful while still being easily preventable in most cases for killers.

Flashlights can already blind you outside your fov which they shouldnt..this change is simply unwise and frankly would make killer an even bigger hassle which is the last thing they need right now
Now imagine 2 dudes with flashlights shining at you from 2 directions.... Oof
How about no. Survivors don't want to have to run a perk to counter a killer, killers shouldn't be forced to run a niche perk to counter flashlights. Lightborn exists as a buffer against being blinded during animation locks. You know, those times as a killer when you can't move your head? Also, looking up to avoid flashlights is the only way to keep from getting blinded when multiple survivors attempt to blind you. "Turning a 180" doesn't work, especially since survivors can blind you from outside of your FOV to begin with. You want to remove something? Then remove that.
